Aoi throwing things is the highlight of my week.

Well I finished Doki and I have to say, not bad.

Story wise Doki is pretty solid overall. The premise is simple and the use of selfishness makes things easy. I liked the fact majority of the episodes are tied to one another and are continuous. Doki tries to make not just the MotD but make it so that there are many MotD. The only problems I had with Doki's approach to the story was the fact that Doki liked to wait to explain things. Something would happen and it would take a while to figure out the whole story.

The art is great and consistent but there are episodes where you notice a low budget studio was used, I guess for costs reasons.

Character wise Doki has some of the best characters in a single series. Everybody pretty much gets at least two episodes.

The fairies were all adorable and extremely useful to the story. The fairies in Doki are part of the story and not just a device to help the Precure along.

Mana is a great character in that she is a great leader and she is overall a really happy character to be around. Her flaws I notice come in two forms, one is where left to her own devices and trying to help someone she will come up with some harebrained scheme that usually ends a funny failure. Her second flaw is her impatience when she doesn't get her way in battle. Mana tends to have outbursts of frustration when she can't figure out how to save the day or person, good thing is she doesn't stay like this too long.

Rikka is very respectable in her own way. She is caring and smart but has flaws like lack of confidence and sometimes too reliant on Mana. Curewise she is the team's #2. She knows how to get the team together and execute action without Mana. She has decent strength and skill and can keep up with generals.

Alice is the team's resource mule and has some interesting ways of doing things. Alice has to keep her temper in check or else she will hurt people. Curewise she is skilled at fighting and thinking on her feet. Continued...

Her flaws are that she isn’t really leadership material. She has a tendency to try and lead from the back but it didn’t work too well. Her other flaw is that she is a bit of a doormat for allies and baddies alike.
Makoto is an interesting case of a tsundere character turned into a moe character who has cute quirks, and I suspect she is a little baka. Storywise she lost her purpose and pretty much got pushed to the back. Curewise she isn’t the strongest but is certainly the scrappiest.
I am going to combine 4 characters into one for this.
First is Ange who is the blue print for Aguri and Regina’s characters. First is Aguri who is Ange’s adult side and is her warrior spirit. Aguri is a no bullshit character who comes off as abrasive and blunt, even by US standards. To some she comes off as insensitive but she is part of Ange’s current state. Ange is a head of state and the commander of her country’s army, she has no time for whiners. Aguri’s fighting style is not very good, she is very powerful but she is not a team player. Aguri has a fighting style like Ange’s, Ange being a heavy knight/cavalry killer who wears heavy armor. Aguri overwhelms her opponents with power and tries to beat them fast (Regina is much the same way). Aguri’s lack of teamwork shows in that she dodges attacks but she doesn’t check where her allies are and they get hit, she has done this 3 times. Aguri also has a habit of finishing off enemies by herself if the rest of the Cure are busy. Regina tends to start fights on her own without her lackeys.
The generals are human generals who specialize in subversion and all have their own personalities. The baddies in Doki feel a little overpowered for MotW and there seems to be a bit of effort put into dispatching them. Overall the baddies seemed like an occupying force then their power increased with 5 generals+Regina and soon fell midway through the show until their last bit of power was used for one last invasion.

Cure wise the girls are normal enough starting out, then they get a ki boost, new abilities, flight, flight+ki boost, and Mana’s super form. The cures cover a few elements and some special conditions but are mostly fighting based (swords, shields, speed, strength, so on). Mana is well rounded with strength and hayai speed, Rikka has elemental powers and acts like a machine gunner, Alice is the shield and a skilled martial artist, Makoto is the kight and machine gunner, and Aguri is the power house.

Overall I give Doki a 9.5/10
