Manga discussed on Sup Forums

>manga discussed on Sup Forums
>pretty tame threads
>manga then gets adapted into anime format
>threads overrun with shitposts

what's her name, Sup Forums

It's not as bad as you think it is.

I wonder what'll happen if Tomo-chan gets adapted.

I think it's easier to name when those things didn't happen.

jitsu wa

Tsugumomo threads have officially turned to shit today.

did you know that Jojo threads were pretty well loved before the anime?

or that Attack on Titan and Akame ga Kill were critical darlings?

Medaka Box fans stayed the same though

>people read TWGOK
>everyone loves it
>anime is released
>everyone treats it like haremshit with "best girl" posting and everything
>Chihiro end
>no one talks of it again

>anime nude edits
Oh yes please.

Let me forget that series exist for once.

>Akame ga Kill
I think the latter half of this would have got shitposted even if there wasn't an anime

When the first anime came out, the threads were really livened up, as far as goes Berserk

So do you guys think the threads turn to shit because people are excited for the new anime and asking questions/theorizing about it without reading the manga, or do you actually think post quality drops for anime-only fags?

...

I'd say probably both

saved OP píc to spook newfags on october.

Thanks OP. Now MODS!!!

I think if you're angry people who only watch anime don't know as much as you as a manga reader, you should be excited to see their reactions rather than pissed at them for not knowing.

Overlord

One Punch Man was the first time I was really bothered by it.

People I had previously recommended the manga to ended up watching and loving it even though they turned down my suggestion previously.

Attack on Titan
Boku no Hero
Mob Psycho
One Punch Man
Overlord
Railgun
Dagashi Kashi
and of course

Jojo

>That gif

Back when Murata's art was good.

it's not really them not knowing that's annoying it's that the theories and speculations they come up with are usually a lot less sensible and far more memey

Overlord is an interesting case because the hype came up before the novels were even found much less translated

Akame ga Kill showed how fucking horrible it was long before it got an anime.

JoJo a million times over
Why is it that such a good series attracts so much autismo

I already know what awaits me come the summer. I'm grateful for the time we had together.

Anime watchers are more casual and meme-y, constantly trying to make everything into waifu wars. It shits up the threads.

oh and Sword Arts Online was also pretty well liked before the anime

it was set along with 1/2 Prince as one of the novels that kept being recommended

Shokugeki.
Soon Ballroom, Tsurezure Children and Neverland (when anime gets announced)

His art is still good, not sure where this criticism comes from.

pretty much every Isekai series with an anime counts except Re:monster, Arifureta, Shield Hero, and Mushoku Tensei those got backlash even without an anime

Every single fucking adaptation since 2010.

Will Devilman threads get overrun by shitposts when Crybaby comes out?

Monster Girl Quest is the worst case of this in recent memory. It got so bad the threads seem to be delete on sight now.

Jesus the threads got fucking bad.

netflix, so probably

that's probably going to be one of those "anime Sup Forums never talks about" series like Karas

>Monster Girl Quest
You mean Monster Musume? I agree though, and I love monster girls.
The threads on /jp/ are EVEN WORSE. Seriously.

Monster girl threads were beginning to decay before the living with monster girl anime.

Any popular anime pretty much.
OPM and Umaru are the worst offenders. It's sad how the people butthurt that a show is getting popular are 100 times worse shitposters than than the poeple getting lured in by its popularity.

Sao LN

Jojo threads back then
>Used to happen once in a blue moon when a new chapter was released or translated
>Discussion was nice but also kind of a minefield because of scanlator drama
>Despite the scanlator drama everyone's love for the series put their differences aside and kept them from arguing and shitting up threads

Now the threads are basically tumblr generals.

Yeah that's what I meant.
I will agree but it got terminal with the anime adaption.

Hunter x Hunter

it's fanbase is basically a mini-version of Jojos after the 2011 anime

...

It's not as detailed or dynamic as it use to be. You also never see things like Genoes vs Saitama anymore. He also redesigns characters so they are easier to draw so he can be lazy.

The cover for the upcoming volume also looks like shit.

Aku no Hana
even though the anime was better

That's me. I hate reading manga.
I like reading actual books though.

99% of them
now it's one of my favorite series that's got a shitty adaption

Umaru was the bland execution of a cute idea, and by all rights should have faded into the annals of history, except it didn't, and has remained consistently obnoxious since episode 1 aired.+

Attack on Titan

Not Manga but Fate threads used to be fun until the Fate Zero anime aired

Maybe it'll spark interest for translations so I can finally check out Violence Jack

Raildex. When an Index season comes out the threads are full of people asserting bullshit theories or claiming plot holes based off of incomplete information that a quick wiki search could correct. When a Railgun season comes out the thread becomes CGDCT vs OwTheEdge.

We used to have good threads

Soon

The waifu wars started around the start of the godesses arc.
First the fanbase became shit and then the last arc followed.

How many chapters of that are translated now anyway?

I think 8, but I'm not sure since I just follow the Japanese releases which are at chapter 39 i think

They had leveled off after mods put their foot down and moved generic MG discussion to /jp/ and only allowed actual MG series to be discussed.

After the anime came out the threads took a nosedive and were drowned in some of the worst waifu waring I've seen on this board. Everyone in those threads were at everyone elses throats.

How much of an understanding will you get from those if you can't read nip?

every show that gets an anime adaptation with regular threads about manga.

you probably won't get much of one, which is why its good that I know nip

Let me correct that for you.
>Manga discussions on Sup Forums
>A bunch of crossboarders with an unwarranted sense of elitism who hate anime circlejerk about the series screaming about spoilers like retarded ESLfags
>Someone does a broken translation from gook or chink raws, and everyone pretends they're primaries
>Anime airs
>People who actually watch anime and read manga consider picking up the manga if the anime is good
>Mangafags scream like retards about how it's shit because it's not exactly like the manga, even if some scenes are improved upon
>"F-FUCKING SECONDARIES! They aren't here for the monthly Korean raw spoilers so they're not real fans!"
That's reality.

>implying you were every in a thread for a manga only series
>not understanding how many people can read nip here
shiggydiggy

I actually just went ahead and filtered the GATE threads when it started airing, since I figured it would just end up being waifu wars and elf-hate memes. How did they actually turn out?

I've translated a few manga series, and I've looked at other peoples "translation" work. Let's not pretend it's not people circlejerking over broken English, inaccurate translations. I've probably own more manga than most here have even read. But please, keep going with the pretend elitism.

Sup Forums and artwork wars

especially how the tomboy of the manga looked like an I@M in the anime

For made in abyss at least, it was just people who were able to read nip. There were no shit translations because there were none, except for the first 4.

Well, that's about what I expected. I'm glad I didn't miss out on anything.

the future of poputepipikku

>ESLfags
>broken English
How many times are you going to complain about this? This is a mexican website now.

No, this is an American website for Japanese cartoons that's plagued by Canadians, and has some Brazilians, most of whom are fine.

Mirai Nikki
Tsugumomo
Jojo
Attack on Eoten
Akame Ga Kill
Berserk

Every untranslated or otherwise somewhat hard to obtain thing gets praised at the dawn of an adaptation announcement as reverse-sour grapes, especially with "it's an actually good LN", "it's different" and "it's REAL yuri". Translated manga somewhat less but still the only ones in threads are the fans.

>No this one is actually great!
>No, the anime just fucked up, the characters and story aren't boring and cliched
>Ok well they are, but 43 volumes in it changes a lot and gets awesome, trust me!
If I had a dollar every time.

Kobayashi-san no Kyoani Dragon

Demichan wa kataritai.
Fuck I even stopped reading the manga.

Everyone wanted a piece of Rory's ass, everyone overrated the wizard, everyone more or less didn't care and/or disliked the elf and what said.

>most of Sup Forums are plebs who never read manga and only watch anime
who knew

>Implying reading manga only isn't just as pleb
Protip: saying shit like "well most anime is garbage anyways but manga is great" makes you even more of a pleb.

>saying shit like "well most anime is garbage anyways but manga is great" makes you even more of a pleb.
well you're the one who said it, not me

its threads are already bad. could be a nightmare

gate was pretty good thinking back on it

hope the LN translation picks up

Threads are already on the level anime adaptions bring them too, so there isn't much you can do to become more reddit.

Found the pleb.

You fuckers shit those threads up beyond belief and then stuck them with /jp/ as yet another deathless general to plague the board with.

Kill yourselves, all of you.

Reminder that "just moderate the general" never works in practice because the fags who inhabit the threads eventually cease to report low-quality posts.

>How did they actually turn out?
There was a lot of "how dare they portraying the Japanese military in as competent and in a positive light, there is only one army on this planet that is capable of defeating medieval knights" stuff.

More like 99.9% of this board is borderline retarded, and having as few of them as possible in a thread talking about a series is literally the peak of quality in this swamp of shit, and that only happens with manga since everyone here is illiterate and cannot stand reading beyond greentext shitposts and signposts floating on top of their chinese girl cartoon.
