What can a man even do with his life?
All my interests now seem corrupted. All work seems like meaninglessly slavery. Most people seem like automatons with no interest in anything beyond immediate gratification.
So what does a man do in a world like this? What purpose can one apply to their life and in what manner can they pursue it?
I don't want to give in to complacency or apathy but lately I've been thinking of the future and what I want from it and can't find any answers.

What I advise is to free yourself of the world emotionally. The only way I have succeeded in doing this is through Christ. I do not feel the least bit emotional anymore about any of our political issues. The current state does not bother me. I try to shape the world into something better. Correct the incorrect within myself and others. Another very important thing to do is to shape yourself into a man that is going to be a good father. If you do these things, you will start to find enjoyment in immediate gratification like vidya. It also depends on where your ambitions are set. If you want to be mega-alpha, have super hot wife, and dominate in some area, go for it. If you are content with mid-range wife, family, and easy life, that is also good enough. What matters in the end is how you act as an individual, and how you raise your kids.
