I don't know. Best guess, they are able to get more work done if they don't have to stop and color/shade everything.

its cheaper, faster and requires less skill. there are full-color manga but they are mostly web published

>full colour manga
disgusting

It's good when it's done well.

Mangaka can barely reach the weekly deadline, making them color it isn't an option

Coloring would increase an already incredibly high workload for the mangaka and it would heavily increase the price of printing manga.

Have they tried outsourcing the colouring?
That's what European comics do.

Manga publishing is already down to the wire enough as it is.

>manga is still sold in physical copies
When will this ancient tradition die?

"European" comics suck and their art styles sucks. There is no need for change for changes will.

Look at this weeb and laugh. French/Belgian comics are superior to most manga.

I don't know but personally, I prefer the black and white style of manga. Scenes like pic related would lose it's charm when colored.

There's always one of you retards whenever anybody mentions western comics.

>There is no need for change for changes will.
By that logic, we shouldn't have color TVs.

It's easy to say that when your whole life you've read grayscale manga. It's also normal that you would prefer that kind of color palette since you've grown up with it.

Why would they have to outsource when it's clearly not needed?

Turning manga in to a big company production with teams and rights agreements and more corporate oversight would just end up turning them in to western comics and nobody in their right mind wants that, especially the mangaka.

The most of western comics are black and white too.

>writer, artist, colorist
>guise, stop turning it into into a big company production with teams and rights agreements and more corporate oversight

t. Oda and Togashi apologists

17 pages a week means just over 2 pages a day (assuming you start before the manga first goes on sale) AND that's assuming they don't use shit like stock images and assistants (they do).

Your mangaka are lazy fucks who just want more time to play vidya and fuck their attractive wives. Stop falling for the "WAHH WEEKLY MANGA IS HARD WORK" meme.

If I keep this thread alive for three hours, could you produce me a page of comic in colour, please?

>writing basic romanized Japanese children's books is easy if you've done it all most of your life
>write me one if this thread is still alive senpai

t. someone that has never drawn in their life

Its more cheaper, fastest for the authors and more accessible for the consumer, for example the Shonen Jump have around 20 series every week, and each series have around 16 pages(16*20=320 pages, not including interview, reviews...) and they use a more cheaper paper for the manga chapters of the magazine, so they need to change also the paper, the cost of print every week a full colour magazine is too high, needing to increase the price of the magazine, and may affect the number of people who buy it, which in the long run could affect the number of people that buy the Vol of the Series

I heard from a trustworthy professional source that it should be easy, basicly any one could write, draw and colour a page of comic on par of average well selling manga. Anyone who can't do that is just lazy.

(You)

Drawing is a skill.
Coloring is a separate skill.

Many artists master the pencil/ink and don't develop coloring skills.

Is brown not a color?

You heard wrong senpai, look up anime on deviant art and you'd soon see for yourself. Set the sorting tool to newest first.

'outsourced' coloring looks like shit

Read more (porn) manga.

no you dumb fuck

Color TV doesn't require a new person or person on the crew to have a skill/the author to have a new skill + much more money and time involved in production.

Jesus. Think about how much a Western comic book cost versus a volume of manga that is like 10 times its size in page amount.

Then go to Sup Forums, nerd.

grey is not a color.

>never
Shows what you know. Some magazines will have some color pages of manga, typically at the start and in the middle. Some tanks will keep those pages (not all though, which is probably a printing cost issue). And there are some full color tanks and others that are quite a mix.

Yeah if only it was so easy to create a fucking story
What a moron

Get a load of this faggot
If it wasn't for French comics, Cyberpunk would never be a thing in manga in the first place

And that's not getting into the many things Manga copied from Bande-Desinees throughout history

I work at "art" related company and I can tell you that the corporate oversight is a mistake when it comes to art. Well, our stuff sells well but it'll never be good. Things we make are just manufactured products and our boss is so profit oriented that he don't even allow us to get commisions from people who could tell that we're hacks.

>It's easy to say that when your whole life you've read grayscale manga.
tbf black-and-white(or b&w photography) has the advantage of having more contrast and is better at conveying depth, detail and texture than color
youtube.com/watch?time_continue=47&v=rCLNaAVgspM

if you want better looking manga just watch anime

Because you can't just color over a detailed black and white drawing and expect it to look as good as it did before you colored it in like some deviant art faggot.

Go back to your capeshit

What company/kind of company do you work for?Be general if you want.

Never hear of of markers? If you are skilled you can get them to flow together easily.

>t. Deviantart faggot who thinks his coloring jobs aren't complete shit.

Let's say they can do 2 pages a day. That's still 14 pages you fucking retard.

I ain't no artist bro, I'm just fan.

Not the ones I read.
My home has walls filled with European comics with high quality colouring.

coloring stuff take time, and most manga that have to sell aren't immediately best sellers, and when they become such, somebody will complain if they take 6 months for each chapter , and its more like a tradition now to keep them as they are.
there are few exceptions but they usually have short lives , KOMOREBI NO KUNI is one of them, same author of NEW GAME! but had a short life.

Unless they're as well colored as pic related it's not worth it
And pic related takes too much time

I prefer black and white desu.

The girls from komorebi were the cutest.
