>He manages to actually get a job in the end
Sense of realism lost
He manages to actually get a job in the end

But that was the only realistic part of the whole thing.
well, what would you do? if I had just lost all income from my parents the first thing I would absolutely do is get a job. what you SHOULD be mad about is the fact that they didn't even kiss.
Read the afterword.
Start psychologically preparing myself for death, because I'm almost guaranteed going to have to end my own life.
It actually took him months and selling off all his stuff before he actually got a job
So you just expected him to starve to death and die or what?
It's not like he got a super high paying job or something
And you would just conjure up this job being a 23 year old with no work experience or qualifications?
He becomes a second hand construction worker in the end. No experience needed.
He got a shit job with shit pay
He has two left hands.
No Pajeets to compete with for unskilled jobs in Japan
Finally someone noticed. Why do a lot animators fuck up their hands?
Good point
Didn't you watch the episode with the MMO guy? After facing starvation you will work too user, it's not that crazy.
Actually, it's two right hands.
Yes, you are correct.
>they were living together and fugging
Man, the manga is weird.
>tfw 20 and never had a job
WHAT DO I DO
Japan is so xenophobic and against immigrant work that all the shitty jobs can actually be taken by japanese men.
look for temporary/seasonal work. if you can stand labor then look into plant nurseries or landscaping (but keep in mind it'll kick your ass if you aren't somewhat fit.) otherwise try to get some "work" experience through volunteering somewhere. a lot of cities will have a volunteer agency that can help set you up with a place. you can list any non-paid work experience on a resume so you work whatever you can and roll that into the next job until you have enough experience to get a decent job you don't absolutely hate.
>NEET gets lessons from a cute young girl who feeds him and helps him
>this is realistic
>a hungry guy who cant even afford food gets a job
>this is unrealistic
I hate you weebs
i'm gonna try and apply for volunteer job on my city's zoo then since i'm coursing biology
Just sell drugs
>against immigrant work
You don't know what you're talking about
that makes perfect sense. back in the day you would do that sort of thing anyway as a part of apprenticing, which desperately needs to come back for more career paths.
zoos also have retail shops, sometimes small restaurants, so look into that as well. it's easier to get a job with a company once you're already employed there so take whatever you can just to work at the zoo and maybe be in line for a better position
job is a metaphor for suicide
Lie your way into a job, it worked for me on several occasions.
This is especially easy if it's a standard wage job. There have been jobs I knew I could do but didn't meet the requirements (typically education and x number of years of work experience) so I fudged the information and never got called out on it. Most companies don't bother to do more than a cursory background check, maybe call references, unless it's for a salaried position.
do you really think a fucking neet can sell drugs?
who would he buy from and who would he sell too
What does it say?
>30 year old neet
>only work experience is a month at walmart
>dropped out of school at 14
Sato had it easy in comparison to life long neets
Anime was better than manga
Japan is way worse about it though, you are despised for it.
>every job I apply to "requires experience"
how is a nigga gonna get experience if he doesn't get a job in the first place
I only ever read the manga, is the anime that different?
And LN was better than the anime.
Social services. Shit like taking care of retards and the elderly requires next to no qualifications. Shit pay, shit work, usually shit colleges, but if you're desperate it will almost always hire you and it will be enough to support yourself
You get experience wherever you can and then list everything vaguely related to the job you're applying for.
It's never even brought up here, which is suffering in another way.
Not that guy, but social workers in my country need a degree or at least three years of special nursing/social work school.
> zoo volunteer job requires me to have life insurance
Are you kidding me
yes, really different
so would you, if you actually had to. Clearly you aren't starving to death and you have an internet connection
To be fair its not that unrealistic when you think about what her motivations were in the end. Sure its exaggerated but shes not the unrealistic qt waifu who just wants to save a hikkomori out of the kindness of her heart and then fall in love like most idiots interpret her character to be.
I think OP is referring to how fast he found the job, like he found it like its nothing.
Anime = LN >> Manga
They need to feed the tigers somehow
Its almost like a completely different story , the anime is more true to the original novel but still toned down for anime censorship. ie it never shows him doing drugs but still show his hallucinations. Also the Misaki craziness is a lot different where she went full psycho early on in the manga it doesn't take until close to the end of the anime to see her true intentions and even then shes no where near as crazy as the manga.
The manga was fine but I still prefer the anime since it seemed more balanced and made its point way better, also i'm biased since I saw it first. The manga felt way to all over the place like it didn't know what it wanted to do to me. The novel is also worth a read it has the darkness from the manga and the balance of the anime so you should check that out to, also the heavy Misaki craziness is still more of a manga thing.
Misaki being batshit was my favorite part of the manga but I'll definitely give the anime a watch one of these days. I did feel like the manga had some issues with how it was laid out yeah.
It's worth it for the soundtrack alone
I finally got around to watching this last week. It's very relatable in many ways but I did feel that it had some overly slow areas. I wasn't even sure I liked the show 3 episodes in. I think if this had been thinned down to a single cour it would have been much stronger for it. A little too much time was spent going into otaku culture and the pyramid scheme arc was really pissing me off because it couldn't commit to making Sato and friends stupid enough to fall for the scheme or smart enough to avoid it. Still a great show but there are definitely some hiccups along the way.
You work a really shitty job for at least 6 months in a somewhat related field then apply to a job you actually want. I worked as security now I'm a fraud investigator.
youtube.com
knock knock knock...
seconding this, soundtrack is awesome
>Watched NHK when I was 20
>"Wow I sure hope I don't end up like Satou"
>23 NEET now
Are you me?
The LN is superior to both
I know there's a VN out there too but I never played it.
I was 3 years into NEETdom when I got my first job. Temp agencies DGAF
Just wait 10 more years
>that guitar theme starts playing
>him getting a job isn't realistic
>but a cute girl hanging around him is
hmm
