I'm a huge shinkiFAGfag and I've been user-TLing the earlier Urara episodes until it became clear that GJM saved it.

Sadly most of my toys are back in my home country, but I've also got Gourai and two shinks with me to watch it, and Innocentia is on the way, so I'm invested as fuck.

It's pretty much just busou shinki. It's Fumikane, it's Kotobukiya saving little robot girls from Konami.

Imagine that back in 80's that Gundam changed it's name after Bandai take over the franchise as its sponsor.

Spiritual successor, in a sense, although Megami Device, also by Kotobukiya, is even more of a spiritual successor. Technically a spin-off of the Frame Arms mecha plamo line, but this was just an excuse, it's the shinki designers working on FAgirls.

FAGs feel like they were Kotobukiya testing the market. MD only got announced and pushed after Fags turned out to be an explosive success.

Leftover headpiece from the inspiration mech. On the actual model it clips into place. On the chibi figure its held on by a magnet. Basically just a headguard/hat.

There is Nyanko days. I agree that the chibi FAGs from the ED are really cute, somehow more than the Cu-poche.

Assembly is all right, but the lengths you need to go to in order to make the kit boxart-accurate... I've yet to sell a kidney for an airbrush though.

Topcoat and some markers are enough for them to look good, airbrushing is for minmaxers.

For the newer kits, maybe, but Gourai looks pretty bland and color separation is so-so at best.

What kind of markers would work though?

I broke down and bought an airbrush set with my tax return a couple of years ago. You really do save on paint costs and it does come out really nice but if you are only planning on painting a couple models you're better off sticking with cans and brush paints.

That several hundred dollar cost to start is a killer on the hobby budget though.
