I guess that means he failed to protect Emilia in the end, and just left her exposed to greater danger. Sure, she's the hero now. However, the same thing that was done to ruin Reinhard's reputation would also stain her own. She only stopped the bad guy after he destroyed everything.

Fire can actually improve soil fertility, and the land is probably still full of natural resources to exploit. The inhabitants have been pre-genocided, and all that's left are some heroes too weak to defend their land. There's probably going to be a landgrab in the near future, as the other countries start claiming the remains.

When you use it in the way that Subaru does, kinda. What he does to Reinhard in the IF is 100% the definition of envy. It also has that potential vein where if someone does something successful or laudable, you can 'undo' it and take it for yourself.
But fundamentally the power of 'the world revolves around you!' sounds closer to pride.

There might be a compromise you need to hit where you have qualities that would appeal to the sin, but utilize the authority in a way that rejects it. Like using IP while preaching against giving up, generally using it to help people rather than hurt people. Same case with RbD; living while treasuring life, making friends with people who are superior instead of destroying them, using it to elevate people and keep them safe, all while nonetheless feeling inadequate. Ayamatsu Subaru's obviously not doing that and might not have any resistance to offer the sins which would entice them.

Considering the LN, it feels like Satella's envy is basically primordial goop singularity.

Not necessarily. Sekhmet doesn't seem to have a vector and Subaru has seen her use her authority. Hector, who is a minor sin related to sloth also doesn't seem to have hands or anything like that.
