Yeah, the art absolutely gets better (by a good bit). It's arguable how well it compares to other manga, but newer SnK art is better than the older stuff.

SnK is full of ship teases, but almost no actual ships. Contributes to the bleak feel of the story. Not much time for fully-developed romance when you're fighting human-eating giants, only tiny hints. Notable exceptions are important contributors to the story (e.g. Ymir/Historia relationship being important to their character arcs).

To make him look more human. There isn't an explanation for a crush, it's something that happens.

I like Reiner but I would gladly have him killed as long as Zeke survives long enough to have a confrontation with his brother.

Shifter power is contained in CSF, and only 20% of that is in the ventricles of the brain. The remaining 60% is in the spinal column, and is continuously replenished by spinal tissues. That's presumably why you have to kill and eat a shifter to take their power instead of just milking them with a lumbar puncture.

Also I keep seeing people say that Eren has to kill Historia to get the coordinate's power, but he can't use it because he's not of royal blood. Clearly the correct route would be for Zeke to kill Eren and absorb all the Original Titan's powers because they don't belong with the Reiss but the Fritz, which is why Eren could use part of the coordinate ability when he punched Dina.

Reiss are Fritz, they just changed their last name after going to Paradi.
So if they sacrifice Historia and turn her into a mindless titan, Eren can use the coordinate.

Dina said that there were different branches of the royal line where her family decided to stay behind. And there's also when Riener and Bert said that the Original Titan was stolen from them and they went to get it back.

My impression of it was that they were originally the same but had been removed enough that they were different.

Historia doesn't have any of the powers other than making Eren relive memories (that we know of) and there's no indication she has any of the coordinate in her. Zeke can control/talk to mindless titans, which implies he has some of the coordinate's powers. AFAIK we still don't have any kind of explanation for that ability.

And given Eren's "OH SHIT" moment in the courtroom, he seemed to realise that the Fritz were actually meant to have some kind of control of the Original Titan. Maybe.
