Things in anime that you hate

>Shounen series.
>Hero is fighting villain, and his attacks are having no effect.
>Expect hero to come up with clever strategy to work around villain's resistances and exploit their weaknesses.
>"I'M GOING TO PUNCH HIM HARDER!!"
>mfw

I like that trope though and it makes sense within context
Battles are not rock paper scissors. He has grear resistance but not immunity

>things are getting interesting

But that made sense considering he circumstances

If violence doesn't solve a problem you're just not using enough.

t.manchild

>No casual nudity anymore
>No drama
>No consequences
>Series ends with "I-I love you" "What, I didn't hear you?" credits
Why can't anime be like my seinen manga?

Protagonist is completely normal/below average, except for having a near infinite amount of aura/chakra/mana

>character is from america, guaranteed engrish scenes
>characters named lord einherdt schwerzznen matusalem von Eðsseþassen

Other than that, I like anime.

>>Series ends with "I-I love you" "What, I didn't hear you?" credits

Holy fuck, this. Have some goddamn finality to your show.

Protagonist is completely normal/below average, except for having every girl in school wanting his dick, he's a beta, and whines and is afraid of woman body oh noooo~.
Just let me fucking break his limbs off and beat the shit out of him with them.

You're watching shit made for literal 10 year olds. If you want some quality from your Chinese cartoons, watch (or read) something made for actual adults.

>the antagonist is so overpowered the only way for him to lose is if he goes full retard
>he goes full retard

>protagonist has a 0.00001% chance of winning
>wins
>character can't use his power unless certain conditions are met
>coincidentally the conditions are met while fighting the villain

>character can't use his power unless certain conditions are met
>coincidentally the conditions are met while fighting the villain

These don't have to be bad.

fucking screaming whatever exclamation just before the end of a scene or before the end of the episode

ITT Fags try to pretend they aren't watching cartoons

just cause it might be for kids doesn't mean it can have shitty tropes literally every other chinese kids cartoon has

"Misunderstandings"

western cartoos dont have this problem

When your show is an extended advertisement, ending it before the source material does is retarded.

>"""trippy""" dream episode

>beach episode that doesn't fit the theme of the show at all

>1000000000000000000000%

>All parents are either dead, incompetent, or evil.

>protag gets beat the fuck up for a good 20 minutes
>gets back up for the 20th time and somehow pulls out a win
Win or lose with some style for fucks sake, slogging it out isn't enjoyable to watch

or on a neverending business trip

>tons of exposition in a show where you're clearly only there for boobs

>MC or anyone close to MC gets hit by a truck
>Yanderes
>Tusunderes
>anything in between
>declaring attacks

>MC bumps into girl in hallway
>dives face first into her boobs

>"you're going to use THAT?"
>'that' person was very important to the plot
>events that occurred several years ago, yet are constantly brought up by characters and are remembered perfectly, so they might as well have happened yesterday
>characters explaining exposition without any questions ever being asked, they just explain for the audience, breaking immersion
>"I killed him/her" when they really had nothing to do with the death
>character resurrection
>any and all times in which a boob is accidentally touched, panties are accidentally seen, etc. the reactions are beyond ridiculous, and it's rarely funny
>naming attacks
that one is hit or miss, but often times there is no reason to give them names because it's just a variation of super punch/energy beam/energy ball
>every harem series that is really just self-insert MC not having the balls to confess

>Expect hero to come up with clever strategy to work around villain's resistances and exploit their weaknesses.
>"I'M GOING TO PUNCH HIM HARDER!!"
>It was actually fucking amazing

Thanks for the laugh

The Lore is in the jiggle physics

>series' message is supposed to be 'lol just believe in yourself and work hard'
>protagonist is a half angel/demon/fairy/ghost/human/god from an ancient forgotten lineage of whatever the fuck
>he only ever managed to get ahead in life thanks to being a special snowflake
>supporting characters are rendered completely irrelevant by his power creep

>implying naming attacks is a bad thing

Female some-fucking-how was allowed a key to the MC's (male) apartment, uses his shower for no fucking reason.
MC comes home, wonders who the fuck busted into my apartment, checks out the shower.
Somehow it's his fault and it's somehow okay for her to physically assault him.

>HURR HURR it's a joke, because it's something that usually doesn't happen DUUUUUUuuuuuurrrrrr~

-

>Scream the attacks name
Why the fuck must anime cater to old fighter series from the 70's?
We don't NEED to "be" the person or scream the attack at the TV to get it.
Self inserts methods doesn't have to be 110% in our faces.

-

>You're a man take responsibility
You're a man, stop whining, while I can while all I fucking want, and I have to have all benefits and you need to cater to everything I say because I'm a woman.

>Use THAT
Holy shit, that's something I'll never deal with.

-

Everything that deals with beta fag MC's inside a harem anime.

-

>I took a picture of you naked, now you have to do everything I tell you
Or they could just get the fucking police, they take the phone before person has a chance to do anything, because let's be fucking real, people don't have a single click function to upload a picture to every fucking place in the world in one second.
Just stop it, that kind of black mailing is so fucking low-tier it should be illegal to make that trope to begin with.

-

Anime that hints on thing, never gets thing done.
be it romance, sex, or whatever.
Get to the fucking point.

>only subs available are localized shit

>Shitty Eng dubs are default, Japanese voices are secondary in list
>have to change audio track for every episode
This shit right here.

>antagonist is so full of bullshit power and so ridiculously strong there's no way he's losing if he doesn't have any character flaws
>he literally doesn't have any
>he struggles to actually try to win, has a masterplan for basically everything and gets to the point where the author himself has no idea on how to make him lose
>'lol I'll just write him off in some retarded way'

I'll never recover from how mad I was.

Dio?

>Sun
>Not a big ass flaw

the way in which he got beaten was literally retarded tho

Madara actually

>battleshit
>haremshit
>moeshit
>fujoshit

>Villain killed MCs father, tortured his mom, raped his sister, took his favourite toy, kicked his dog, killed trillions in cold blood
>"I can't kill him, that would make me exactly like him."
Even worse:
>Right after MC said that, villain tries a back attack
>Accidentally kills himself, so he can die without the MC killing anyone

I just realized.
How the fuck didn't this guy try to beat dio.

legend of the galactic heroes

You can find this in any fuckin type of media and i rage every danm time.
Best example i can think right now is fuckin Thanos from Marvel
>Overpowered as fuck
>Get a Gauntlet that make him invincible
>Still loses because "deep down inside of him" he wants to be defeated

I just developed Asperger's from thinking how a scene like that would play out.

>character is really sad or wants to be alone
>MC finds them on the roof
>literally every single time

>first episode
>MC walks in on girl changing

>MC walks in on girl changing/naked/whatever
>instead of saying sorry and immediately closing the door and leaving like any normal person would he just keeps staring and flailing his arms around while stuttering nonsense

>girl runs, boobs are as solid as cement
>girl sits in one place, does literally nothing but breathe normally, boobs bounce a fucking foot into the air
>in the same anime

>character uses new technique he's never used before in the middle of a fight and it works flawlessly

>villain has literally no flaws or weaknesses except one
>MC just happens to be the only goddamn person on the planet who is able to use that one weakness

>mfw reading that fucking chapter

I was in tears. A stand that is a fucking sun carried by a guy who followed them in the desert by hiding behind a goddamn mirror.

>Overpowered guy is defeated by begging

>Evil villain murdered hundreds or thousands
>MC defeats him, villain reveals sad backstory
>Villain immediately pardoned
>Later joins as comic relief party member

I thought all might doing it was pretty nice

I just realized
Is this the only guy that has ever been defeated by the "please kill yoursef"?

>implying I didn't already say it's hit or miss
allow me to enlighten you; hit-or-miss means that the subject at hand can either be good or bad in some instances, in this case, naming attacks. For me, often times, named attacks are announced out loud, breaking the flow of combat, and aren't symbolic or significant in any way except to sound cool.

Your complaint doesn't apply to that fight between All Might and Noumu. Punching harder WAS how to exploit the weakness in his impact absorption quirk.

He did use a strategy to exploit the opponent's weakness. That strategy just happened to also be PUNCH HARDER.

Guide to writing shitty shonen
>in the last X years, humans have begun getting powers or using technology to simulate powers
>however, I, was born without any powers or had a shitty power
>that is... until that day
>random guy passes on his power or his shitty power is actually broken/magically awakens or some random awoken his amazing power

when has that ever even happened

I admit that this scene was spectacularly epic. But goddamn, had Almight allowed the ice guy to lend a hand, it would have been over in 30 seconds

I'm sure that this was discussed in the threads shame I missed it

Fucking kids and high schoolers. They are always trying their very best to have the mc be in that range, but the majority of time they could not have to make a stupid story. They could avoid the majority of bad characters and bad cliches by just having an adult cast. Don't wanna have parents around? Just have mc being away for college. I always refer to how fate zero has a decent all around story when you don't have to deal with horny characters all the time, where standard fate has to deal with high schoolers trying to not implode for spending a night under the same roof.

>MC gets the crap beaten out of him by big bad
>Is downed multiple times but keeps getting back up
>After being effortlessly beaten to a pulp 50 times MC finally manages to actually hit big bad with an attack
>Big bad is defeated by that one single attack hitting him and doesn't get back up

Seriously, this always irritates me to no fucking end. It's fucking retarded having your character lose and get back up so many times but then when the villain gets knocked down he's fucking instantly out of it for good.

Yelling out attack names is only okay if the other characters call him out on it and he says he does it "because it sounds cool"

it was intentional

i hate everything in anime

>coincidentally the conditions are met while fighting the villain
If it's not coincidentally, but was the MC strategy all along, it's god tier.

t.immature beta male with insecurity and low self-esteem issues

>New villain appears
>kicks the shit out of the MC
>50 chapter long training arc ensues halting any progress the manga was making
>defeats villain
>new villain appears
>Rinse and repeat ad infinitum
This garbage made me quit shounen as a genre holy shit.

Not sure if baiting, but pretty much every shonen they have this shit. You can be assured that if the premise is superpowers appearing among humans, it's gonna follow a structure similar to this. It's blatant especially in Railgun and Hero Academia

It's in bnha yea. I've never paid any attention to railgun and I can't think of another thing it's in.

Were you home schooled or something? I'll admit those types of episodes are cliche, but they're necessary if you want to add something interesting aside from STUDY STUDY STUDY, lunch chatter, and home. Besides, isn't Japanese school success largely based on extracurricular activities? It stands to reason that's what they would focus on.

>Shounen MC all but defeated but simply through remembering 'muh friendship' is able to pull of a win.

>Shounen villain ridiculously complacent
>Brags about how he cant possibly lose
>He loses
>'Impossible!'

>Rather than an intelligent battle between two people it just turns into a game of 'one upmanship' with both people pulling new tactics out of their ass.

>MC does not confirm the kill when villain is defeated and villain is inevitably able to pull something out of his ass to make the fight drag on even longer.

>characters walking around with sad face whining for entire episodes because they have a problem instead of trying to solve it
For some reason this seems to be the favorite form of drama in anime, as if I'm supposed to feel sorry for the dumb faggots who can't make a decision and act.

None of the MCs in Raildexator has no/shit superpowers. Also no power passing.

Happens in Inou-Battle as well. Haven't slept in a day so I can't really remember any more off the top of my head

That was fucking awesome. Shame it wasn't actually a million percent, just a prolonged hundred.

>Happens in Inou-Battle as well.
I only ever watched the anime, so forgive me if it's different in the novel, but isn't that just "this class and like a handful of other people got magic powers but then they never use them"

Also MC's power wasn't even that good iirc, he could just set other people on magic fire.

Well it's mostly that life after school years in Japan is the end of freedom and the beginning of wagecuck slavery.

School life is when they are driven by hormones and love is at it's peak as well.
Too bad Japanese ppeople are fucked in the head and bully people that openly express their love to others.
They are xenophobic and jealous by nature.
They judge people by their blood type like fucking horoscope maniacs.

TL;DR School life=life, Post school life=death of freedom.

kek

Point taken, maybe what I said doesn't fit that well.

Where? I can't remember.

world end harem

I actually really liked the series, I'm still sad it's incredibly sutpid to read the novel.

>only girls can use super powers/can operate mechas
>oh and of course the male mc

Fucking IS

>MC is fairly average
>but villains see that he has great "potential" so they never finish him off, despite having every reason to
>old powerful characters also always see that "potential" and train MC secret super techniques
>MC's "potential" gets him everything everywhere, because everyone is in awe of it

>erohon has like 5 pages of worldbuilding and exposition dump before it actually starts being porn

Its ment to be an extended 100% not actually 10000000000000

>serious war
>all adults are incompetent
>schoolboy MC is a genius of warfare and comes up with tactics that nobody else could possibly foresee
>tactics are actually basic as fuck

>one of the good guys is in a really shitty situation and can easily be killed by an enemy
>the enemy gloats, moves too slowly, or something distracts them
Just finish them off for Christ's sake. If you have a knife to his throat that takes less than a second to kill him, why the fuck would you hesitate and not just end it there?

Fucking Aldnoah

But he still gets to kill his prey, because MC is indecisive weak little bitch and would rather stand there with a shocked face than try to save a friend.

>mandatory "as you know" info dump in the first episode

You know you can just slowly ease viewers over the course of couple of early episodes, right? LN adaptations in particularly are especially guilty of this, doubly so for those with a completely by the numbers "high school tournament" premise.

This is more or less a consequence of how history is taught, which typically comes down to that same "one side is incompetent and the other employs a basic strategy" story.

>site puts up your favorite anime
>they put up the sub version
>the dub is the superior version

I'm looking at you, Hulu.

Don't think I didn't notice that you put only the sub version of Yu Yu Hakusho and not the dub. Now it's less convenient to binge watch since I have to rely on the Blu Ray rips on my PC, so I can't work out and do other things while watching without having to stop every 20 mins or so.

I'm still mad.

bnha is filled with tropes but I still like it a lot for some reason, I guess it's cuz it only has the "epic" tropes

11s don't like being slowly eased into a setting. They want that information upfront so they can situate themselves right away. Shows with complex settings that defer the infodump or introduce it gradually tend to provoke backlash or complete disregard.

In a sense, the infodump becomes a way that the author pitches their concept and sells it to the reader. 11s like being sold to. They don't like being asked to invest on good faith before they get the picture, so things that lack an introductory infodump are received as well as one might receive a business proposal without a strong introductory pitch.

Well tropes are not good or bad by themselves, they're just an instrument. BnHA executes them with thought out quality.

>Super genius level IQ
>his tactics are actually not that elaborate cuz the author doesn't know what a super genius would think of in those situations

Its because its part of what being an ideal hero is. It can get away these tropes because of its setting and setup as well as the fact it has consequences.
Deku having to learn shoot style in this case
