>In order to battle witches who threaten to destroy their world, the Anti-Magic Academy trains special soldiers to be Inquisitors–but not every student is successful, as is evidenced by the ragtag 35th Test Platoon. Takeru Kusanagi, a soldier who relies on his sword rather than guns or magic, is captain of the struggling platoon. When the elite shooter Ouka Ohtori is demoted into the 35th Test Platoon for excessive violence, they're all in for a rocky mission…and an explosive future.
that setting looks like the brainchild of black lagoon/jormungand and warhammer40k, but since it's a battleharem, it's gonna be extremely shit regardless, right?
Asher Watson
did the manga cover the whole novel?
Parker Gray
Fuck no. It's a 16 chapter shitshow that ends inconclusively.
Single omnibus edition release, for when regular blowing the fuck out doesn't drive enough nails into the coffin.
Christian Lee
It's actually surprisingly fun. All the girls were best girls. MC is an incurable sword autist with anger management issues and not a faggot. The plot goes well with the MGR soundtrack. They leave the school in volume 5 and the rest of the series is spent running around as shit explodes.
Jaxson Torres
It was actually a blast.
Evan Hernandez
What kind of fun is it user? I enjoyed reading/watching Jormungand and some Warhammer40k novels because they're all about a soldier's life with little to no bullshit. Does this manga have the same level of fun?
Easton Martin
It was fun because it was so unapologetically chuuni
We're talking random-ass Latin chanting, vampire guns that shoot rains of magic-busting stakes, the soul of King Arthur summoned into the body of a robot and using a custom railgun Excalibur that shoots the ghosts of the Knights of the Round Table out the end, a little girl incarnation of a sword that killed the god Baldr, crazy priest with Lovecraftian magic attribute who just want to watch everything burn, maddo scientisto using Kojima nanoachines to become a Dark Elf and spam antimatter bombs, maddo scientisto villain resurrecting herself inside the mind of her descendants like Fine from Symphogear, giant robot dragons that the MC cuts up like it's Metal Gear Rising, yandere Cthuluesque imouto who wants to double suicide with oniichan, God is a fabulous faggot with a golden musket who wants to destroy the universe because he's bored and suicidal and hates the stench of magic, the interdimensional debris left behind by a war between the universe of humanity and the universe of the Norse gods which humans won, literally Oniisama fucking everybody up with his Lawful Neutral autism, and just all-round crazy.
At the same time even though the setting itself is a post-apocalyptic grimdark one, it never falls into outright grimderp territory, the main characters never lose sight of their optimism and stick together like the bumbling yet occasionally competent band of over-specialized problem children they are.
Jacob Ross
Caveat: the anime was horribly directed, somehow managed to make CLOCK UP bullet time sword cuhrayzee antics lethargic and boring, ruined what was supposed to be the climactic "now shit is really hitting the fan" volume then gave it a totally nonsensical anime-original ending.
Which was a shame because everything else about it from the voice cast to the music was spot on, the directing was just poor.
Meanwhile the manga is incomplete and just barely gets the plot started before it ends, and the LNs don't really get into gear until Volume 5 because the writer originally submitted the manuscript of volume 1 as a joke and later had to figure out retroactively how to set up all his characters and setting and make his bullshitting look like it was really genius foreshadowing.
Wyatt Davis
Incidentally Seven Seas is holding a licensing survey. So you can go bug them about licensing whatever you want, including LNs.
>anime original ending god, I hate that, there should be a law in japan to lynch the whole anime production team for pulling that shit.
Noah Gutierrez
Wasn't this manga axed?
Nicholas Lopez
>licensed manga translation It's shit, who cares?
Carter Ross
>The best battleharem of fall 2015 is coming. >The best battleharem
So a least smelly piece of shit of the fall 2015 is coming? Whoa, I am fucking hyped.
Zachary Morgan
Yes, hence the single omnibus release.
Benjamin Scott
Sometimes in actually conclusive original ending is better than leaving it open ended with no financial hope of a continuation ever.
Chase Edwards
>not the LN Still buying it regardless.
Matthew Jenkins
I WANT TO CUM INSIDE KISEKI
Jose Garcia
So is Krytyk dead or what? He hasn't posted anything since the end of January.
Sebastian Gutierrez
Wasn't the whole main story translated already? Only thing left hanging are the sidestories.
Lucas Diaz
I love Mari!
Is she even in the mango? From the raws I saw, she's not.
Michael Perez
SUMMIS DESIDERANTES AFFECTIBUS
Angel Powell
Malleus maleficarum?
Jose White
He said he was going to translate Only Sense Online, then vanished into the ether.
Juan Brown
Huh? why China?
Lincoln Hughes
Because in that analogy, Antimagic corresponds to China. Early on it was not particularly interesting when stacked up against Asterisk (USA) and Rakudai (USSR) but around volume 5 it really takes off and shines whereas Rakudai just falls off a cliff.
Bentley Lopez
Sounds good
Adrian James
Did this end?
Cameron King
The LNs concluded satisfyingly with volume 13 and Another Mission 2, the manga got axed after two volumes.
Jace Richardson
I stopped around volume 9. Did someone finally kill the imouto for good? Which girl won?
