Monthly Ballroom chapter

That time of the month is upon us again.

Also, no chapter next month. There's a break.

01
>Waltz is dynamic
>Tango is sharp

>I felt safe being led by Chinatsu
>My heart raced

>"Come"

[Vol 9 goes on sale June 16th. Gotta keep that in mind]

02
>"I wonder where will she take me next?"

>Heat 41: Agreement

03
>clap clap
>clap clap

>chatter chatter
>If only Chinatsu was a guy...

>Fourth Event: Slow Foxtrot

04
>ha...
>ha...
>[piercing pain]
>I can't move like I want...

>My head is going blank...

>As I thought, it's weird...
>What is..?

05
>The dance seems even more forced than in the previous rounds...
>Do it more
>I'd want things to be even dirtier and messier
>Aah... You're such a cruel bastard...
>It's just as Kiyoharu said...
>Fujita-kun's dance... It's as if he was controlling a marionette..?

>A good observation
>Just before, I failed in my approach

>As Fujita's movement was so slow and was pulling Hiyama back, I gave him a muscle therapy
>..!? (wait..)
>Kiyoha...
>Thusly, Fujita is moving so widely and Hiyama is troubled by it
>Kiyoharu!

>That means... Fujita now is-
>Yup. He's panicking
>His muscles are loose and he can't put strength in them
>Don't be surprised if he hates you!

>I understand that you have it done every tournament,
>but to do it to Fujita-kun...
>Aah, it truly is amazing
>What is it now!?

06
>Hiyama's speed of adaptation

>thump thump

>twich
>This is really bad

>These chills [Ok, the real term used here is 'ague' but there's no need to have people checking their dictionaries every time they open a Ballroom chapter]

>That horrible feel when you drop a check...
>I need to match him

07
>"Cooperate" like always before
>I need to match our "timings"
[words in quotation marks may be boldened, or figurative "cooperation" and "timing", because that's basically what they've been doing before. Hard to judge here which is it, although for the rest of the chapter boldening is more likely]

>Questioning
>Hey, Tatara, open up
>Taataaraa~
>Fine tuning each other

>With my reactions and experience, I can do it!
>"I'm saying I can't tell."
>"I can't feel your leading"

>I... don't know how to open it
>Chii-chan, you open it

>Huh?

08
>This kind of guy is the first
>gii [unoiled hinges]
>Is this much okay..?
>Aren't you being a bit too reserved? (I can't go through this)

>slump...
>badum
>Eeeeeh... Why'd you close it!?

>H-hey..! Don't give up and go by yourself!! (I know you're doing your best in shadow but...)
>Hey, the door-
>How am I supposed to follow this?

>snap

>crash

09
>It's been 4 months since we became a couple

>Rehersal after
>Rehersal

>And then on this day-

>ah...

10
>Is it all going to crumble?
>In the worst possible way?

11
>"If you just match my timing I can follow and cover the rest!"
>"You don't get it so-"

>I can't

12

>hiatus
>few chapters
>break

fuck Miura

13
>For a moment
>Chii-chan!?

>Why...

>Chii-chan was leading

>To think things could go worse...

>What a heavy release

14
>There, they just matched
>twitch

>They're separated again
>I see, how interesting...

>The leader is the one giving way

15
>"Their movements are truly surprising"
>"I wonder how many dancers in Japan could perform in such a natural unbalance"

>That is-
>Partners who shine through their leader are truly a fightening breed...
>Almost like

>A wild mare!?

>riping muscles apart
>muscle therapy

16
>Dance Focus is writing some nonsense again!
>Like I was "burying" my leader

>Higashigawa Asobi (14?)
>Hongou Chidzuru (14)
>For Hongou, Higashigawa is already her fourth leader. We can only wonder how long this partnership can last judging their performance today
>whaaat?

>Aaaah~ Time to break up I guess~
>pitter patter
>Chidzuru is loose
[So, yeah, the 6-year old is actually calling Chidzuru a whore here]
>I should've known this in the interview already with how he was

>I didn't like his... "design"
>? (huh..?)
>I can't agree with that "beauty" (never)

>Even I have my ideal feeling! (It's no wonder I can't match with anybody!)
>Weird person
[Oh, guess the girl was Shizuku]
>mumble mumble
>I mean, his timings were too slow... Like... Like he opened doors slowly? (Or something like that?)

I just realized I'm including some tl:notes for the proofreader in the text. Whatever

17
>How he moved his gaze
>How he interpreted the music
>Isn't the point to get a mutual, harmonious balance?
>I wonder what this person is saying

>Every time it comes to Standard, I feel so unbalanced (Latin is no problem)

>Two people
>Separate
>I wonder if it's because I did balet

>I should find somebody foreing! (I should ask Ogasawara-san for advice)
>While all her tournament relationships ended up as divorce she continued to appear in junior competitions with her girl friends until she was 15

>Soon thereafter, she would meet with a suitable leader
>And just a few days after she had learned to follow

18
>They became monstrous

>Chidzuru-san used to be leading after all

>I don't think a follower like you can understand

>"A monster with the strength and outlook of a leader."

>If the "pampered ones" aren't careful

>They will be overtaken in an instant

19
>U-umm...
>What are you two talking about? (leaders and matching?)

>fidget

>no way...
>Mako-chan doesn't feel anything after seeing this!?

>What should I do to match!?

>How is Tatara going to move?
>Tatara...

>What sort of person is Tatara?

20
>I need to respond
>No-
>If I respond by the time I hear their sound, it is too late
>Predict?
>No

>"Empathy"
>Or, more like

>An agreement in all feelings and emotions

21
>I can match them

>There, again

>To me, having somebody else this much in my thoughts...

>Chinatsu
>I've never before done that in my life

22
>Tatara is

>"Always" doing this

>Responding to my selfish dancing

>"So at least it looks like I was leading"
>Thinking

>Holding himself back to accommodate his partners; a leader that doesn't force himself out

>And the partner whose self-importance makes her unable to trust their leaders

23
>Discordant
[Again, the word the author is using here is 'incongruous', but I went away with it]

>While Marisa-sensei taught us technique
>She told us nothing about partnership
>Maybe because there is no answer
>Well, I did give Tatara some warnings

>"A partner's skill is determined how well they can dance and express themselves within their leader's hold"

>And after being hung on impossibilities for so long...

>I feel locked

>I sure am holding a few grudges...

>There must have been something I could've done

>ha...
>For me to realize it, now, finally after Tatara doesn't care about me
>ha...

24
>Karma

>clap clap clap

>That is what's happening

>I need to repay him!

I wonder how many more months of chapters are left in this one tournament.

25
>Let's look for our own form

26
>Yes, just a few pushes more

27

28
>The moment you think to "focus" you've already lost it

29
>Tatara and Chinatsu have finally reached Kugimiya's sights!! Is this their new shape-!?

And that's it. Amazing to see a chapter where the author systematically burns all the other girls in the series. Chinatsu for life.

fightening or frightening?

Frightening
A typo I noticed the moment I pressed Submit

Goddamn this manga.

Thanks as always Dancefag. Thanks for the new Kono Oto Tomare as well. Any estimates for when you guys'll finish the tank?

I've been looking forward to this.

I for one don't really mind, this tournament is clearly a major step in the development of the characters, with a lot of confrontations, turmoil, reflexion, and this chapter definitely looks like they're coming to an answer to those. So it's not a bad thing to make it complete and well developed instead of rushed, as it will lead to something important for the protags.
Chinatsu's evolution in this very chapter is massive.

Mako please, this is why you're losing

I love Chii-chan.

Looks cool

is chi-chan finally getting dominated?

thanks based dancefag

Also Chisato is amazing
