I liked it and it had some cute moments, but I agree. I mean you could argue that it's more about how just minor differences can drastically influence society's perception of certain people, or you could think about it as just another cute girl show with a tiny flavor of monstergirls. But in the end it still bothered me how the series is focused on sensei wanting to know more about demi biology and how difficult their lives are while the series constantly reinforces that they really don't have many differences at all. Yuki is literally just drawing a girl and calling it a monstergirl.
