Why are the majority of fantasy anime shitty shounen? I can't seem to find anything worth my time. I guess it's more that most shitty shounen are also fantasy.
I mean it's not just that they are unbelievably boring, they actively piss me off with how uncreative they are with their world building, characters and themes. Can these mangaka please come up with other "themes" than

I recently finished that show, I'd rate it a solid 7/10 since I felt it got a bit rushed in the end. The main attraction to the show would've been the interactions between the characters, especially Pacifica and her siblings. And also those huge ass shoulderpads are straight up my alley.

Record of Lodoss War is a classic, if you want just typical fantasy with elves and dragons. Watch the TV version, not the OVA. The OVA feels generic and bland, TV is good.
