Bump
5cm was better.
Thank you for your feedback. Enjoy your day
Is there even a proper 1080p rip I can torrent or what? Can't find shit on nyaa.se.
Although, I scrolled through the DMCA requests the Google received regarding Kimi no Na wa and oh boy, aren't they anal about a bunch of people enjoying free anime. Pretty sure they forced public trackers to remove it too.
There's only a rather mediocre 720p rip that I know of. I'd watch it if you can't see it in theatres. I saw it three times that way and it was still great.
>Anime can't be kin-
OH SHIT! RUN THERE'S A SNIPE-
Pretty sure it's candlejac-
I already torrented the 720p one but I am more of a muh resolution fag so I haven't watched it yet.
Definitely recommend watching it in the theaters if you can. It's spectacular
Nice meme faggo
People generally don't give a shit about anime in my country such that theathers don't even bother importing them. Its sad.
That's all there is until October unless a BD gets leaked somehow.
You didn't even say Candlejack you fucking id
No problem. I rewatched Kimi no na Wa last night and enjoyed it less than the first time, some parts of it were even sort of annoying. I had the exact opposite reaction with 5cm, first viewing was meh but the second made me cry like a bitch. Kimi no na Wa wasn't really a tearjerker though, finding out Mitsuha was dead was the only sort of sad part.
Thanks for reading.
Not for a couple of months.
watched kimi the first time, felt a bit sad
watched it again, cried like a bitch
I really want to watch it again but I don't want to go alone again and even worse run into the same ticket usher giving me a ticket for the same exact movie.
what parts made you feel that way
recalling when they met 3 years prior and when the meet on the ledge of the crater
life is short you idiot, you will never remember that guy and he wont remember you.
Buy the ticket online, dummy. And if you can't, then stop living in a third-world shithole.
I've worked those type of jobs before, unless you did something to really stand out, they forgot about you less than 5 minutes after you bought your ticket.
You already managed to do it once what are you being such a pussy for. I saw it twice, same theater, same auditorium, same seat, same time.
I'm approaching it in the same way people did Avatar. It'll probably be forgotten in a decade or two, but while it's here it's a phenomenal example of visual storytelling.
Maybe in the same vein as Akira in that it'll set the standard for years to come in terms of visuals.
I'm a neet who can only pay in cash
No, the cars were kind of separated by other cars in the flow of traffic. There was a stoplight in front of the theater, and the first car got stopped by it. They probably saw me by the theater entrance and decided to mess with me, because they pointed at me and said "Hey, you." I should've gone inside then but I said "Hey" back. Then they all cracked up like I'd done something hilarious. Then the next car came by and honked at me as it passed, and then the third one all the girls stuck their arms out the windows as it went by. The people in the first one probably texted the people in the other two.
Also they were all wearing the same school sports jerseys so that's how I know they were the same people.
That's what you get for going to the theaters alone hikki scumbag.
Any Cinemark fags here? How do you rate XD? Might consider it but they only have showings at 7/10 pm.
>sitting in the cinema, 21:40
>have the screen to myself
>halfway through the manager walks down the side to lock the door
>spill my spaghetti in silence
How is this selling in the states. Saw it in theaters and the crowd was relatively small.
Your Flop
1,6 mill,
pretty good for a film that was only advertised by word of mouth and was shown at like 300 theaters
1.6 mil over the weekend is what I heard
Not bad considering Funi did jack shit to advertise it to people who didn't already know it existed
>I had the exact opposite reaction with 5cm, first viewing was meh but the second made me cry like a bitch
Please let this happen to me because I really dont like 5 cm, but it was my first Shinkai work, so now that Ive seen the rest maybe I'll love 5 cm
Huh?
Doing well for this type of release. Depending on location and time obviously changes how theaters are filled, but the showing I went to had about 30 people.
post it more
Why is Funi such shit?
Anyone have recommendations? I found myself enjoying this movie a lot more than I expected and, short of seeing it again, I'd love to watch something that pulls at your heartstrings like this.
When the marker goes tumbling out of his hand
I was platinum mad, the crying came later.
Seriously. All they had to do was say it outsold Miyazaki's Spirited Away and it would have flocked more viewers.
>He didn't start laughing
all they needed to do was let people know it existed, i mean there is no real competition out there at the moment. At the theater I went to there were no posters anywhere, the website had the movie hidden in the back, they literally did nothing but hope it picked up traction through reviewers and word of mouth.
Going to see it in the theatre in easter. So fucking hyped
its 2017. how can they be this retarded
Excuse the tinfoil, but I personally believe Funi doesn't care at all for how well it does in theaters and probably had to agree to first screen it in US theaters in order to get the rights to distribute the home video release.
If you haven't seen them, the rest of Shinkai's films would be a good place to start. Sorry if you have, but it seems like this is a lot of people's first Shinkai film, even on Sup Forums
So glad the audience at my theater was so well behaved. It was deathly silent in there during that scene.
>XD
Get Out.
> Anime can't be kin->Keit-Ai becomes the highest grossing anime film ever.
Yet more proof that meme magic is real.
>Look down
>See this
What would it take for you to not grab them?
So what? Doesn't make it a good movie. Just means you guys shilled a bad movie
I know you guys are irrelevant and this is all reddits work. But good job on beating Miyazaki I guess! Japan has such great creative genius.
There's nothing to grab.
what is kin- supposed to mean?
yesterday
It's actually my first Shinkai, though I had meant to watch 5cm/second a few years ago and totally blanked on it
I'll have to check out Shinkai's work though, I've been checking into them and they all sound fantastic. Haven't seen many anime films to begin with, mainly just Hosoda's stuff.
Can we talk about the cave scene for a minute? That's got to be some of the craziest animation I've seen in a theater, probably ever.
???
Anyone buy a ticket in person?
>Soft, shapely, perky breasts
>Nothing to grab
Post your favourite covers
youtube.com
I did, no big deal. Girl at the ticket counter didn't seem to pay any mind, no awkwardness if that's what you're wondering.
>the ticket booth person did a shitty "my name is XXX" joke
It sucked being reminded that I never got to experience young love. Might as well kill myself.
considering they forgot everything, neither did the characters.
So any of you tasted authentic spit wine?
Thanks guys I'm going to watch it again. Gonna go early for less people and because I have class later that day.
Went to one with recliner seats. The subs were super hard to see because the bottom part of the screen was cut off by either the seats or railing.
You're not supposed to say Candlejack! Now he wi-
>go to theatre opening day for subtitled showing
>pretty crowded
>tons of people in groups
>sit in back row
>fat guy sitting alone couple seats next to me on the left and a white guy sitting alone past him
>group of girls and guys on my right
>movie starts
>english song starts playing
>audible confusion all around about dub
>immediately get up and leave
>manager says they're going to fix it
>walk back in theatre and wait 10 minutes
>hear awful dub
>they don't fix it
>leave again like an idiot after like 5 other people watching the movie alone leave
That's inappropriate, user.
This was fucking cancerous to read. Fuck off with your wall of green text
good point
Yes, I went alone like I do for most anime movies since all my anime-watching friends from college are upstate.Btw this single's fee meme is pretty dumb.
I overheard the three people in front of me all order tickets for the exact same showing so I wasn't a socially anxious mess like I usually am.
>tfw class is 15-20 minutes after the movie ends
Do you think they'll let me in with a bag? It's not like someone is going to shoot up an empty movie theater at 1:00.
Should I try making kuchikamizake myself?
At least keep your receipt. You will need to file it for next year's taxes.
think they would be more concerned about bring in recording stuff, but they should be cool with it, call ahead to be sure.
speaking of which, is there a better rip than the 720 china one
you are correct user, anime can't be kino
about to see it for the second time this thursday to avoid workingfags. probably gonna sit in the front to self insert when the scenes pan the huge sky and meteor shower scenes and admire the art since i dont need to pay attention to subs this time around
Yes. But you'll have to obtain a virgin girl's saliva without going to jail. Are you prepared?
I went to see it for a second time tonight. I promised myself I wouldn't cry this time.I broke my promise.
How's the dub?
Kind of bad. My mom wanted to see it for her birthday and specifically requested the dub so that's why I saw it dubbed. The male lead trying to sound like a girl just made him sound like a fag.
He probably is a fag.
To be honest I think any effort by Funi to advertise the movie probably would have harmed its box office rather than helped it. Hollywood fucks up $100m marketing campaigns for easy-sell blockbusters half the time (e.g. Ghost in the Shell), and Your Name was something completely novel to the North American film scene. I don't believe Funi had any idea what to do with it, so they cut their losses and let audiences do the talking.
It bothered me when the male voice actor was trying to imitate a girl's tone in the sub, too. It wasn't quite falsetto, but it was bordering on it.
Better than I expected. Watchable, I'd say.
Cute.
>ask the little local theatre that usually plays foreign films and new ghiblis if they're going to carry kimi
>they didnt even know it existed
>closest large city is 100 miles south
>they dont have it either
>have to drive ~180 miles south or north to get to a theatre that's playing it
just
Where the hell are you, Wyoming?
iktf
I saw Kimi there, was my first time at XD theatre too. Top comfy, I'd recommend it, especially if you go on weekend and it's only like $2 extra compared to economy class. Great comfort and feeling of personal space compared to the normal theatre.
Had the same issue, subs were not obscured by stuff as such, just projected a little too low so the bottom part of the bottom line of the subs was under the screen proper and a little hard to read (like the letter y would appear a v). I got used to it and forgot about it after 5 minutes though.
You must live in one of those states that no one even remembers exists, like Montana or North Dakota, huh?
Is this subbed or in english? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth bringing somone with me or not because I don't want to listen to them whine about subtitles.
>not having your eyebrows raised by Her Cat when it was the only thing out by Shinkai
>not watching Voices with your jaw dropped soon after original release
>not becoming like a crackwhore in withdrawal begging for the tiniest bits of more Shinkai after watching Voices
I envy you newfag, I wish I could watch Voices and feel the feels for the first time again.
I had 8 people in my theater on the first showing of the sub on opening day
That's including me and the guy I went with
lol, no
