Is Phantom World a good adaptation?

Is Phantom World a good adaptation?

The author praised it as better than the original so you could say it was poorly adapted

It had a lot of padding because they didn't have Book 2 when production started.

Enigma best mother

Show was bad and novel so yes it is

Yes. Kyoani realised that it worked better as a comedy than another story about an MC with relatively "meh" powers fighting demons and saving the world.

Koito is a good adaptation of me.

This studio is a subtle asshole. They know a material is shit but is interested in some of it's elements and think it will make for a good show. So they ask the author in a way they can't refuse. With a facade of being nice "Author-dono, your stuff interests us and we'd be happy to use it for a project. Don't worry we'll name the show after your work, for honor. de gozaru"
An anime adaptation being the dream of almost every LN/manga writer/artist, they just oblige but is left empty inside after their amateur canvas is drawn over with bright colors that they can't even remember if it's their own work. They try to salvage their pride and continue but realize it's futile. After having an existential crisis, they just disappear without ever holding a pen or paper again. Their name disappearing from the business, overshadowed by the company's brand.

is this pasta

It's Kakifly's epitaph

At least we know who Kakifly is.
But for other adaptations - Chuu2, PW, Hibike, Hyoka, Kyoukai no Kanata VEG - everyone knows they are "vastly improved" Kyoani shows, but NO ONE can tell the names of authors without google.

Hyouka was a Kadokawa novel though, not some literal who? like KyoAni's LN authors.

That's good. We get good anime while LN authors slowly fade away. KyoAni the LN killer. Wtf I like KyoAni now

The visuals novels are poop, and the anime is poop, too, so it is.

Wrong thread?

Maybe he got mandela effected

Where?

Koito was the only good thing. That moment where she was about to get rekt by the phantom was super hot.

Otherwise it's trash. No fanservice, no harem, no self-insert potential.

You didn't read the novel so your opinion means jack shit. I doubt anyone in this thread did.

These threads are filled with braindead shitposters of the worst kind. Some retard yesterday tried his damnest to argue Mai didn't have any trait other than punching things. Even claiming she wasn't ill-tempered, sisterly and empathic when those are obvious traits.

well in the novel the harem thing is played more straight, Haru is more of a pervert, Mai is not the most focused on girl, that's Reina and Koito barely does anything but sticks around because Haru's the only person who was nice to her. Rururi and Kurume do not exist in the novel and a little bit after harem hijinks the world gets fucked up by phantoms, Haru goes badass demon slaying and makes Reina his girlfriend, they even start living together. Oh, and Mai friendzones herself since she just cannot see Haru in a romantic light,oh and she has a little sister. As for Reina's sister, in the novel she never came back home because she was killed by phantoms while on duty, Reina's parents are such hardasses with her because they don't want to lose another daughter to phantoms.

Haru's dad is a phone like Ness's his only line is being happy that his son is fucking a girl, which Koito happily exploits to be able to live with Haru, she's still making moves on him despite he and Reina being an official couple. make of that what you will.

But you're listing positives
