Current Big 4 for people who know what a vagina feels like.

Wat about boruto?

...

Will dbz always be part of the pantheon

Always. There're two anime that normies know: DBZ and Pokemon.
Pokemon is more of a game series, so it's precluded. But DBZ will always be up there.

Jojo shouldn't be there. It's actually good

Gintama ends this summer, so this thread is pointless

no it isnt

Are you sure?

Why don't normies like the original Dragonball? I also wonder if we're ever going to get an anime in the west on the same levels as the original Pokemon anime.

Z got huge because it hit the high-notes of mainstream popularity idiosyncratic to that Western generation at the right time.
DB wasn't really the same so anyone that got into it as a fad wouldn't be inclined to go back and watch the source material, or even learn about it, really.

West not equals to USA

>Jojo
>big
No. Gintama fell like a rock in manga sales too and most kids don't know what Dragon Ball is.

But they know what Dragon Ball Super is.

But there's no such thing as a new Big 3 or whatever. Only One Piece is left.

>normies
the irony

I'm curious how the Jojo 4D ride will play out. It sounds really fucking cool.

Hardly, the DBS anime airs too early/late and the manga doesn't live up to its name in sales.

What makes you say that user?

If you haven't seen the ratings you should just stop spouting bullshit.

the manga is in the top30
the anime ranks up in the top10 each week
dbs is doing outstandingly good for a series that ended 20 years ago

Stop trying to make Big 3 a thing.
The Big 3 is going to forever be Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece due to the increased western anime fervor in the mid 2000s. That's not coming back.

Gintama and Jojo are as broadly acclaimed outside of Japan as Naruto and Bleach were.

>B-But my internet jojo references
Doesnt mean shit.

JoJo is a smaller side series, no toys for kids and is currently a monthly publication in a seinen series.
Gintama's ending this summer, you don't want that to be your new big franchise.
DB is also cheating since although it has a currently ongoing series, it's technically not the same as the original, and also has a monthly publication.

People were usually thinking of something like Naruto and Bleach, weekly publications in Jump with tons of merchandise, sales, anime, a long ongoing story, etc.

why is bleach ever included as a top 3 ? anime got axed prematurely and the manga need to be rushed. ask any normalfag what bleach is the first thing that would come to their mind is a manga about laundry.
it was always just the big two naruto and one piece.

Bleach was popular as fuck 10 years ago. Are you kidding? It didnt start it's dive until after they beat Aizen, when literally everyone thought it'd end.

JoJo has always been its own little thing. Sure, it's very popular in Japan and has been part of the culture for decades, but overseas there'a a big dropoff. Manga is nowhere near as popular, everyone relies on streaming, not much has been officially released, it's nowhere near as big as most people make it out to be, especially in comparison to the Big Three of the 2000s.

They aired Z before DB, warping the minds of Americans (Keyword) into thinking Dragon Ball was some edgy action show.
