Gundam Build Fighters TRY

What went wrong?

That faggot in the middle.

Porn was amazing so nothing.
Season 3 when?

It gave us Fumina and Gyanko so absolutely nothing.

It gave us best girl Gyanko so to answer you question OP, nothing.

This
I enjoy the porn very much. Never watched the show.

Fumina wasn't the lead character

My main reason to love this franchise.

That fat slut in the left.

>not liking thicc
Low tests leave.

>Still no BD subbed complete release
I got S1 from GS, but I'm reluctant to see it because seems like no one is going to do/finish S2 ;_;

S1 and S2 have nothing to do with each other aside from sharing some characters.
You can watch it safely.

No one wants to do S2 probably because it sucks.

Try isn't worth watching except for Based Minato who is too.good for this show and deserved to be in s1 like the other cool characters.

Or more precisely people want basically a similar enough copy of S1 that jerks off to them and didn't get it

It TRY and fail.

It's the only tournament show I've watched where there actually isn't a plot other than the tournament itself.

Yes, the problem wasn't the unlikable leads, uninspired designs and boring fights. It was that people wanted a copy.

We got IBO instead of S3 of this.

>character designs excusing Try
I feel nothing but rage when I look at any of the characters from Try

It could have been good, but it wasn't and shitty characters were a major part of that.

Those are pretty much the least of the problems, /m/ basically turned into a whining circlejerk when TRY basically became everything /m/ doesn't want and then some

Zeek girl is good though.

i always get this mixed up with the first gundam build fighters
was the red haired kid the same one as the first show? i only watched Try for gyanko and turned my brain off

For a team game, the games always ended in [martial arts screaming] and the other only got the finishing blow in only two instances

And the Pirate Gundam match was essentially a handicap without anyone on the opposing team actually being eliminated

No, Sekai and Reiji are completely unrelated to each other.

>unlikable leads, uninspired designs and boring fights
>the least of the problems of a robot fighting series
are you retarded? If it didn't have those problems in the first place then people probably wouldn't have wanted a repeat of the previous one instead.

Are we still getting an OVA for original Build Fighters? I couldn't even finish Island Wars.

Not a chance, it got delayed because the director was too busy at the moment in the first place and now the fucker is directing Hero Academia so he is even busier now.

Maybe I'm not remembering everything correctly, there were people initially skeptical on that it is not an actual sequel and it wasn't that bad. Then everything went a lot worse and people basically imploded from despair

It is supposed to be "eventually", but at this rate it might as well came after the 40th Anniversary Project

Yeah, people were kind of ok with it in the first arc. They started hating it in the final tournament where nothing paid off.

The moment the show went to shit was when the fanservice girl traded her awesome Powered GM for an SD.

What would sex with her be like?

Like sticking your dick in one of those meat buns

>that one anal doujin with pigtails there
I watched half the first season because it was on youtube It was I nice breath of fresh air kinda reminded me of beyblade didn't mind the plugging either I still haven't bought a gunpla yet.
Like I said I didn't finish it should I back log it.

>team format shoved in haphazardly, which basically led to 3 1v1 fights

>harem

>in a tournament where almost everyone is building their own gunpla, Sekai gets one built by a World Championship
>also gets free extra parts for repairing it since nobody on his team actually has the skill to maintain it otherwise

>jigenhowareyou spam

>Sekai basically learned less about gundam than Reiji did

>Assimilation is fucking stupid and makes things unnecessarily serious

>particle limit doesn't count for MC team, or Celestial Sphere's

>Lucas loses 3-0 to Celestial Sphere
>particle limit affects his machine heavily because Crossbone apparently has super output
>Lucas gets beat in the final clash anyway

>Ral was shocked by Yuuma in training
>Yuuma proceeded to be absolutely shit

>fights in general weren't that great

>too many gundams and not enough of other mobile suits

>pretty much nobody acknowledged the kid who uses a snapbuilt nubdestiny to fight against someone with a world championship's model

Fuck harem.

didnt they nerf her meat in the 2nd season or something? i was about to watch it until i read that, fuck them

>team format shoved in haphazardly, which basically led to 3 1v1 fights

Also, it would have been better if they actually just did 3 1v1 fights, but then I guess we wouldn't have gotten Tryon.

>Sekai basically learned less about gundam than Reiji did
Did Sekai EVEN learn something in Gunpla? He was more like "Hey, the Gunpla doesn't move the same way as I do so there could be moves that Build Burning can do that I can't!" after his loss to Minato (come to think of it, Minato's the only one to hand him his ass).

>I watched half the first season
also was him being an alien necessary at all.

For the plot, kinda.

But, from a storytelling perspective, it was a nice tool. Reiji literally has no idea about Gunpla so he's like the stand-in for the audience. Very interesting he points out about the many Zakus in the shop.

Another thing about Sekai, they were clearly trying to be mysterious about his background, and it was fucking nothing.

Like fucking a water bed.

everything

new characters
no milf
useless yellow
annoying red
asshole blue
team battles instead of 1-on-1

don't bother with s2

They didn't tried at all.
That's what went wrong.

>I couldn't even finish Island Wars
The only thing good about Island Wars appeared at the end of the OVA.

It's ironic how MILF Aila is the best thing to happen to TRY.

Rivals were trash. GBF built up almost all the rival characters throughout the series, by introducing them early and showing them off in their own matches. The point-based qualifiers worked well for this, allowing all of them to team up or be against each other without anyone dropping out of the main tournament.

Compared to Try, where it was a straight single elimination tournament with rivals introduced either the episode before, or not having any proper build up. This is on top of the fights boiling down to non-team based 1v1s despite the team-based battles, particles suddenly being a limiting factor in fights, and everything about Sekai.

It needed more doujins

Less 3 on 3 shit, just go with regular 1v1 me faggot.

3-on-3 was a good idea if it didn't devolved into a regular 1v1. It's like the fight choreography was like "Oh shit, Try Fighters are in a pinch. Hell yeah, they got out of it now it's time for Sekai to strut his 'Chicken, how are you?' schtick!". This is so obvious during the Denial VS Build Burning or snap-built Destiny VS Try Burning.

The finale battle of the first half and Tryon 3 shows the potential of a 3-on-3: getting ganged-up and taking on multiple opponents all at the same time.

This. Also, the rivals in GBF were varied. This being just U-19 Japan made them all generic school kids.

>mfw Heat Rod
Rojiura Jack is a great smut artist but I'm fucking repulsed by anything scat.
I can dig traps and futas but scat is too /d/ for my taste.

Basically fucking everything.

The lead character looks sounds and acts like a particularly fucking retarded 9 year old and he's pushed as fucking harem lead with very pubescent girls.

Fumina went from being a "could be interesting" character to less then nothing at breakneck pace.

The bespectacled cunt is so boring that his "rivalry" with mineta is the only interesting about him and he doesn't even take it seriously.

The lead gets a h4x broken super mech at the beginning and never not once gets any better as a "gunpla" user. He just yels jiggen howl louder and punches more. No, I'm not kidding. That's what happens.

The 3vs1 thing is never fully exploited and is just a shit way of having more gunpla toys on screen/get into that naruto market .
They had all of this fucking real estate. They could have had team battles where they had to use tactics and replay old gundam battles from old as the good guys or bad guys or had team sports titles or one on one battles.
Stuff like that.
NOPE 3vs3 stuff and nothing more.

The particle thing was just bullshit deus ex machina crap to let certain players win or lose depending on plot. It was garbage that just ruined so much potential.

I'm not going to go into how the whole magical newtype assimilation state that sekai has that just raises all sorts of fucking ethical questions about this game and the common sense of everyone in the series.

The lead character had LESS of a reason to win then anyone else and they actually come off as being litterally no better then the bad guys 99% of the time. Worse because a lot of times the come off as being hypocritical as fuck.

Half of the rivals introduced in the first half of the series had more potential as the leads then the lead three.

Did I mention Lady Kawaguchi?

If the blonde fuckmeat and the thick girl with a clit boner for zekes wasn't inspiring decent fappables I would consider the entire thing a complete failure.

>What went wrong?

It had S1 as prequel. Try isn't terrible by itself, just mediocre at times, the problem comes when you compare it to how good the original series was.

S2 is exactly what everyone though S1 was going to be.
A terrible soulless cash grab.
Without S1, Try would have been remembered as being worse then Age and Reco combined.

S3 with their daughter as the MC and actual strategy ( on caliber with the first 3 episodes of Aldnoah.Zero) being incorporated into their battles when?

Their daughter uses a Beargguy now because girls only use cute gunpla.

Gyanko showed up and fell in love with the MC over the stupidest crap, and her every appearance after that was just to continue the forced love triangle that nobody liked. Tere were plenty of other problems, but that one took up a ton of time in the show that could have been better spent fleshing out other areas, nobody liked it, and basically turned what could have been an interesting character and reference to the first season into a walking romcom cliche that existed solely to stir up uninteresting drama and waste time.

The fact that at the end of the season she seems to have moved on from her crush only to have it back in full force in the OVA was awful as well.

>Without S1, Try would have been remembered as being worse then Age and Reco combined.
That's an exaggeration if I've ever seen one.

>Lady Kawaguchi with Lunagazer
>Gyanko with her badass Gyagya and Gyancelot
I'll agree that both SD Winnings are shit, even with the "real" mode.
Should've stick with the GMs Fumina.
Very stupid how she goes from GM>SD, no correlation at all while everyone else upgraded within a theme.

Name five things about S2 that are good that doesn't have anything to do with S1.

I'd say it is the reverse/inverse/etc., without S1 Try would've probably be just forgotten as a run of the mill (ish) toy commerical that doesn't cater to "the right demographics". However because of S1's existence Try is remembered as badly as Destiny and Age and Sunrise is worse than Fukuda

She wanted a more variable support unit that could keep up with two extra high quality gunpla, and SD are easy to transform and can pull bullshit magic powers out of their asses better than regular gundams can. Basically she had to role shift from (attempted) one man army all rounder to support.

>because girls only use cute gunpla
That's why Gyanko is so best with her R-gyagya and Gyancelot.

He didn't fuck the nee-san.

most likely its because it was love triangle, the introduction to 3-way battle but focus mainly because none of the MC are adjusted
>broody blue/sasuke
>hyper red/naruto
>I want to be useful fumina/sakura

>ts because it was love triangle
It was a love pentagon.
Fumina, Gyanko, Shia and Reiji's daughter all wanted the Chickenhowareyou dick.

hey now, at least yuu-kun was TRYING to fuck her. that ova was a real cockblock, he was out there helping her do modeling and then everybody else shows up to test the synthetic gundam crystal.

and it jsut kinda felt like fan wank for the red MC especially how the last MC just leaves a gunplay for him and then we dont see how he thought of his gunpla, that was part of the fun from s1 when we would see them work on their gunpla and take care of it

not enough gyanko, too much sekai

there was no milf

yeah, dude, sekai's great, I love how he doesn't give a shit about gundam/gunpla and just likes bullshitting up his shonen super moves
you know what I think when I watch gundam? I think it could use more DBZ in it.

>island wars
you mean captain planet?

HNNNNNNNNNGG

no I'm pretty sure try was terrible, even without the comparison to BF

Reminder Try killed the BF series.
Soon after s1 ended s2 was announced but after try ended the only thing that was announced were 2 ovas, one that was the shitiest enry on the series and the other one might never happen.

>They made Fumina not the main character even though it started about her.
>They forced Fumina into a SD LOLGURL roll for no reason.
>They made Fumina into someone who only wants to be with Sekai and defeat Shia for trying to suck his cock, completely forgetting that winning the tournament was her fucking dream and promise.
>Sekai just had magical skill that required almost no effort unlike the ReijiXSei dream team.
>Side characters had no charm at all, no proper development like 95% of the supporting original cast.
>Minato consistently showed he was the most impressive builder multiple times throughout the series but just like with shitty ass China, her shitty brother had to be forced in the limelight with his boring builds.
>Not enough Lady and Tatsuya
>Fights were boring
>Music was boring
>3v3 never actually mattering at all since Sekai won 90% of the battles with asspull.
>Barely any cameos from the previous cast

And more

Positives:
Fumina exists
Gyanko Exists
Glimpse of MILF Aila
Super Fumina
Try-On
Older Nils
Star Winning Road

nothing. maybe a few poorly paced fights. nothing major, though. great girls, great gunpla. season 3 when?

>great gunpla
yeah dude, SD hydra is the coolest thing ever, but wouldn't it be better if it could also hadouken?

>>Lucas loses 3-0 to Celestial Sphere
>>particle limit affects his machine heavily because Crossbone apparently has super output
>>Lucas gets beat in the final clash anyway
This. Everything about Lucas. Lucas showed amazing fucking skill and lost for completely contrived fucking reasons. Fuck S2 man.

didn't buy that one. really enjoyed the a lot of the others though. cardigan, burning, lightning, tryon, red warrior, mega shiki, denial, transient. all really cool, fun builds.

fuck, I thought you were talking about how they were in show
carry on then, I haven't bought/built any of the try ones, but coming at it from that level is cool.

Why should I? The good parts of the series having to do with S1 have nothing to do that exaggeration.

>in a tournament where almost everyone is building their own gunpla, Sekai gets one built by a World Championship
>also gets free extra parts for repairing it since nobody on his team actually has the skill to maintain it otherwise

this was my top 3 most irritating thing cause the series was sort of like a sports anime or something like beyblade where it was teaching us that true winners polish and build their own tools and skills.

>Lucas showed amazing fucking skill
Not really. Lucas showed the same kind of great pilot skills as Shimon and others. We just were yood that his crossbone was the best thing ever because he was a master builder or something.

Yeah, he was cooler and it was a shame he lost to celestial asspulls but he was just as badly written and shallow as any of them. His strategy was shit too, he would have been better with a less powerful gunpla and more actual teamwork.
You can't complain about team Tryhard and then give Lucas a pass, his team was shitty too.

how cool would it be to have nintendo(since they have amiibo system) to make a game where you could build your gunpla but most like it would have to be digital for all the specs and then an amiibo sized gundam?

Except Lucas showed he could fight a 3V1 fight on his own if he literally didn't have the most asspull of asspulls cause him to lose.

Lucas was an interesting character specifically because he was a nothing character from S1 who got motivated by Aila to become a Gunpla pilot on his own and worked hard at it.

It makes everything about him and his fighting way more interesting.

>His team was shitty
Yeah, but who cares about them anyway?

>not enough gyanko
Once bandai sees how well pic related sells they will make a Super Gyanko, figurise bust Gyanko and give her her own series. I'm sure of it.
;_;

yeah it's my primary hobby so I always look at series from a model standpoint first and foremost. if you ever get around to purchasing one, the burning and try burning are both great with poseability and accessories and generally go for under 20 bucks. can't go really wrong with any of the non-SD ones, though. there's a lot to love. pretty easy to kitbash, too.

I want to say they had a japan-only system like this at some point. at least, I had a few kits come with little cards in the box that seemed like they were meant to scan into a came. would be tight as shit, tho.

>Yeah, but who cares about them anyway?
I know right?
Why would anyone care about teams and teamwork in a show about 3v3 battles?

His entire gimmick was that they did use teamwork though. Unlike Fumina/Sekai/Yuuma.

They had a plan, formulated it and it worked for the most part.

I've still got an RG exia, HG 0 Gundam and an HG Qan[T] waiting to be built, but I'll consider that.

It introduced me to my waifu, so nothing really.

Fumina is shit.
Shiiiiiiiiiiit

>His strategy was shit too, he would have been better with a less powerful gunpla and more actual teamwork.

His strategy was super shit.

There's no fucking way he would have got anywhere if he had to rely on two battery pack allies and everyone knew it. They'd get sniped down like the latter part of his battle, but at the start.

That said, it felt more like the writers needed him to lose for the plot, so they just made a really shitty plan and called it a day.

we need a third season of Build Fighters

Fumina and Rinko brought about a golden age of doujins

I hated how they shafted Gyanko and Shimon later in the series.

>Why would anyone care about teams and teamwork in a show about 3v3 battles?

See, I was hoping for Lucas to be too into trying to win alone, in a warped sense of what Aila told him in season one.
He would try too hard to "earn a trophy by playing gunpla himself", when he should have been working with his team.
He could end up damaging Crossbone from trying too hard to carry his teammates instead of trusting them as actual allies.
Then with some actual fucking teamwork, they could trade off two for two, leaving it to the showdown with just Wilfred and Lucas. They could even have a mutual KO or something.
And then you can have Shia finish repairing her suit at the last moment to win the match by default.

Honestly, I just hated Team Celestial Sphere though.

what kind of battle syem would you like though? I dont play much of free world. 3d fighting game or any of the gundam games for that matter but I imagine it would be like xenoblade

But the final Gunpla Aila built before the grand finale was not cute at all. The only girls who had 'cute mechs' were China and the Oujo.

Oh aila used a cute mech in that one episode, but not after that.
