No, the save point was before she was dead but they used it to erase the kiss. For some reason, the events changed since in the first repetition that girl didn't even die (or so we assume). It's pretty complicated.

if I remember correctly, in the original work, these prequel episodes appear towards the middle. I think the director wanted to tell the story in chronological order.

This anime is very reminiscent of pic related, and it's making me want to drop it even though this episode was okay.

The biggest difference is that Ushinawareta wound up being pretty good for the 2nd half of the series after Truck-kun was introduced.

So far none of the characters in this show stand out besides Hanakana because she's Hanakana.

This feels like someone wanted to make a Cross Channel adaptation, but couldn't get the rights, so he just rewrote the thing.

I feel like I have brain problems while watching this. I'm not watching with my complete attention, but the actions and behaviors of the characters just feel so weird.

It's because they are androids.

I think i found what bothers me most with this show so far.
Show hammers and preaches that we should not give in fully to rational conclusions and rely on our emotions and wants to do good things even when situation seems hopeless, basically don't compromise on a lesser evil.
The problem with that is that this show does not puts into practice what it tries to preach to us, at least some parts of it.
Our main cast is pretty much compromised of machines (and i feel that comparison will never get old with this show) that are trying to act morally acceptable in human society, but to a fucking extreme in a way that feels literally autistic. They don't have any character whatsoever, the only thing that defines them is that they want to do good deeds. They don't show any emotions at all in their interactions, all plot heavy stuff happens as if they were weighing choices, they always act like aliens when they interact with each other. It contradicts itself. So when our MC interacts with other people causally (basketball match, teacher forcing them to join a club) it feels really fucking dishonest, because he is shown acting smug and moody at the time, where did fucking beep boop fuck the emotions robot thing went there?

This show is what happens when you make bakemonogatari but remove all the fanservice and the funny bullshit. I personally enjoy it for the scifi plot but I can see why so many shun this.

I'm sure a lot of people already dropped this, which is a shame because this episode is a lot better than the previous one and it gave me hope that this might turne out better than

MC is cold and calculating, and taints a completely pure girl just to get her ability.

The characters are so inhuman that it's difficult to get invested in the show. At least for me. I mean even if that is somewhat the point for them to be that way it doesn't make for a very entertaining narrative. Honestly them all being robots would make sense at this point. They have to be otherwise these characters are just so silly in how they behave. The banter is laughable as well. Teenagers don't fucking talk like this. It's like everybody is a pseudo philosopher.

On a side note I find Soma to be even weirder than Haruki and Kei. Am I the only one? She's so fucking bizarre with how she treats people. It's creepy even.
