Stopped reading right there

Are the nihonese entirely incapable of writing anything that isn't completely fucking autistic? Anno was right. Miyazaki was right.

Decent premise completely ruined just 24 pages in.

Kill yourself

quads confirm, do it faggot

Hilariously the video game setting actually makes sense in that series and isn't just an asspull. The main plot is actually about dismantling the system that makes the world run on RPG rules.

But yeah, I hate the video game world bullshit too.

sure reading this dreck made me want to do it anyway

thanks

your loss

thanks for informing us that you do not like this type of manga. May you find a type of manga you prefer

adding post-hoc reasons why it's an RPG world doesn't make it any less of an asspull

>post-hoc
It's not really though.
I don't really want to defend the series, I dropped it (the novel) for other reasons, but the RPG shit isn't really an asspull or shit for the sake of shit. It actually makes sense.

so you're saying a justification was not made up after the basic concept of "girl goes to RPG world as a small spider mob" was established? I find it difficult to believe.

I don't really care what weasel words you use to defend it, it's shit.

'Adventurers Guild' bother me more then that. There's normally all kinds of hoops to jump through to make those things make any sense in half the settings for these kinds of stories.

I don't mind, 'The world is an RPG because I say so.' It makes me look down on the author a bit, and assume they have limited experience in life outside of playing games in their room, but I can forgive it.

are you me?

>I find it difficult to believe.
I can't promise you that the author didn't change plans as they wrote, but it doesn't seem that way. I'm assuming you've only the manga? At the very least the explanation for the RPG world was in place before she exited the cave she was born in and the story has been consistent.

I'm not recommending the book, but yeah.

Yes.
There are only two people on Sup Forums.
Chances are anyone you talk to on here is you.

Though I think the RPG case is ok in MMO series or in series all about the powerleveling.

Adventure guilds on the other hand just don't work it's an indicator that the author doesn't really have any plans of their Mary sue MC

I actually tried reading ahead a bit more, and from what I can see it's totally used to replace any kind of character growth or world building or exposition by "magical numbers that appear". No need to actually be clever or practice when you can just sink some skill points into poison or web or whatever.

There's actually a very good reason for it that definitely seems like it was planned from the start. Best reason of any isekai I've read at least because it actually has a reason and isn't "you died now you reincarnate because random lucky".

If you actually care (you probably don't but w/e): the deity in charge of both worlds was in the MCs world. Two people in the RPG world were trying to kill them and attacked them across worlds, which didn't do much to them but killed a bunch of innocent bystanders (the class). Deity felt responsible for their deaths and decided to reincarnate them in the RPG world. Also MC is literally a spider and the deity gave them fake memories of the person the deity was pretending to be.

>There's actually a very good reason for it

like I said, I don't care what post-hoc plot was made up to justify the decision to go with RPG world, it's shit

So the entire world is just a cellphone novel written by haruhi?

>koizumi's society worship her as a god
>that means she is

my favorite meme from my favorite passive readers, love it

I think I read one thing were the adventuring guild made sense. What was it?

Oh, yeah, Lazy Dungeon Master. Adventurers' Guild exists as a state run service to manipulate people who farm dungeons into not killing said dungeons, since the state is run a dungeon. Dungeons are living organisms in that setting with avatar like forms separate from their cores, monsters, and passages.

Later she transcends the system and becomes a god. All the numbers go away for her and she just because a plot device the other characters revolve around.
I'm not defending the writing, it's lazy and poorly paced in many places. i'm just saying that the RPG setting Makes Sense and isn't unreasonable.

why did you even make this thread then?

You want people to validate you or something?

>post-hoc
All evidence points to this not being the case.

I'm at least 60% mad and I wanted to see you try to defend it, especially because I've seen people shilling this on other boards like it was good

That's actually exactly the kind of tone he was going for.

so you're saying in the creative process, the high concept was not the first thing to be decided?

Well yeah RPG world in general isn't that great, besides Dungeon Defense (which makes sense because the world is literally a video game, and also RPG shit is barely ever used).

I was just saying that there's a solid reason for them to reincarnate in another world and they didn't just start with a "girl reincarnates as a spider mob" premise. Plus it's spider reincarnates as a spider mob the MC was always a spider

???
She level skills up by practicing them, points are only used to acquire completely new skills.

I want to fuck this spider.

even if you wanted to make an RPG world, it's completely dumb to use video game mechanics for it, then it's really no different from just playing a game, the interesting part is thinking how it would be if it was real, you don't need something silly like XP or HP or skill trees when the reality of learning skills, wounds, and so on can be used by a writer to create a sense of reality

relying on game mechanics is just pure autism, and unless it's literally a game like shit art online it makes no sense

No. I'm saying that the reason the world works like an RPG appears to have been figured out from the beginning of the story. It makes sense, the setting isn't just 'lol that's the way it is'.

I saw at least one page where she used "level up" as a crutch to get out of having to tend her wounds, pure garbage

and it doesn't matter when the decision to make it RPG was made in the first place.

whatever justification you come up with after that fact doesn't change shit

>and unless it's literally a game like shit art online it makes no sense
The world wasn't originally an RPG world. There's a huge fucking machine with a goddess for a power core that is forcing the world to work that way. The fucking plot is literally unplugging the RPG shit from the world.

I mean, there are a ton of other series that ARE exactly the kind of shit you are talking about, but your particular gripe doesn't really apply to Spider Tits.

it is good, you just have shit taste

you didnt even read it because you dont like the premise and you keep saying its shit and the explanation it was all post-hoc to the people who actually read the novels, If you are not trolling then you are seriously retarded.

God damn this reminds of those "professional" game reviewers reviewing Roguelikes and saying "worst RPG ever".
I thought they had pills for autism

I don't care about that. It still makes for a shitty story.

>even if you wanted to make an RPG world, it's completely dumb to use video game mechanics for it
You do realize RPG means Roleplaying GAME right? The whole point of it being an RPG world is that it uses game mechanics. Otherwise it would just be fantasy.

Because there's literally no other way of recovering HP until much later.

Is always funny see faggot shit in Kumo-chan without even read shit

My assumption is he wants some pen and paper rules settings.

>ITT: A baby bawling all over the place because he didn't like the setting
Holy fuck, I never even read this shit but hating something just because of your preference is just pathetic.

>I don't care about evidences contrary to my claims

...

Like Forgotten Realms? But that's just fantasy?

It is. The story has so many fucking problems, but no one who complains about it actually ever addresses any of them.

But you just said that shit like Sword Art Online gets a pass. If you just hate the setting then fuck off. No one wants to hear your one sided griping. If you hate a shoddy setting, or forced logic to arrive at a cliche, then let's talk.

HP aren't real

no. korean mmo fantasy is different from other fantasy

there's no point to having a "what if you were transported to a game-like world for real" story if you leave out the "for real" part and just make it a literal game with a floating menu.

Well, no. Maybe like someone is reincarnated into a DnD game and spends the entire story trying to run from the players and prolong the campaign for fear that the world ends with it.

I dunno, something like that maybe, where its still a game world?

>there's no point to having a "what if you were transported to a game-like world for real" story if you leave out the "for real" part and just make it a literal game with a floating menu.
There could be.

Man, you're dumb as fuck, why the fuck are you complain of this shit if you don't even know the fucking point of the story

merely replying isn't evidence

sword art doesn't get a pass, it's a story about a literal game, so it makes sense for it to be a game, in that case the fantasy is "what if you lived inside of an online game", which is still stupid but at least it makes sense from the beginning

>If you hate a shoddy setting, or forced logic to arrive at a cliche, then let's talk.
I do, that's my whole issue here. clearly you don't want to talk.

>no. korean mmo fantasy is different from other fantasy
Example? Are you talking about VRMMO novels? That's not an RPG world that's a normal world which has invented advanced VR games.

>it makes sense for it to be a game,
But the setting in Spider Tits makes sense as well. I really hate being backed into a corner where I have to defend that series, but it does make sense. You keep going back and forth between talking about what makes sense, and what choices you don't like authors to make.

There is a difference between these two things.

its autism, this is legit autism.

dont feed the autist

>But the setting in Spider Tits makes sense as well.
no it doesn't. not at all. don't drag that tired old post-hoc explanation out again, I don't care about it.

How can you not understand how it's post-hoc is what I'm asking

>what if this girl was reincarnated as a spider in
>shock she's a monster spider and the world is different
>and it's an RPG :^) lol
>there's a good reason for that, I know that's not why you read the story but don't worry everything will be explained by page 700 or something xDD
>just keep reading this autistic dreck until then

wew

>be autist
>call others autistic

tapestry

>no. korean mmo fantasy is different from other fantasy
LOL

...

Doesn't that mean that all information that doesn't fit into a one paragraph synopsis is just post-hoc explanations?
Literally every work of fiction is post-hoc.

does your daddy know you are on the pc?

Try not to infect it with porn malware this time little timmy

what's your problem? the story is most interesting when she's discovering being a spider, and using her natural abilities and wits to overcome a dangerous situation, and least interesting when she's playing a generic dungeon crawler with stats and level ups

>the story is shit
>it's okay thought there's a good reason why it's shit
>it was actually meant to be shit right from the beginning!
>you're just autistic xD

>what if the earth was being attacked by weird monsters called "angels"
>also we have to fight them with giant robots
>and the giant robots can only be piloted by 14 year old children :^)

You can do this to any series where part of the attraction of the series is uncovering what is actually happening.

there's nothing wrong with post-hoc if it's used to flesh out something good

the problem here is the premise is fundamentally shit and making up reasons why it's that way doesn't matter, it's still shit.

>Decent premise completely ruined just 24 pages in.
You can't know the premise in 24 pages. Heck, you don't actually know anything about the premise until after she escape from the labyrinth and then some.

Kumo's a god egg.

I don't think hes saying the author changed plans as he wrote it. He is saying the intrinsic factor/driving force was "girl goes to RPG world" and later in the process wrote the narrative in a way to justify it. It has more to do with how the idea was formulated.

...

there's a key difference here
shinji never levels up his EVA rifle damage with skill points
eva takes its premise seriously and tries to immerse you into its world

yes, finally someone gets it

>just keep reading this autistic dreck until then
No, I said I do NOT recommend the story. There are a lot of reasons why. The RPG setting DOES make sense, and it DOES appear that it was always supposed to be that way. There is no indication that it was changed after the fact for any reason.

The story is kinda shit. That has nothing to do with the setting.
> the story is most interesting when she's discovering being a spider, and using her natural abilities and wits to overcome a dangerous situation, and least interesting when she's playing a generic dungeon crawler with stats and level ups
Both of those things happen before the actual plot even kicks in. You are complaining that nothing makes sense before you even read any of the story at all.

It's a pretty meh series to get your panties in a bundle about.

Except that was never the point of the story, that's just your shitty opinion.
Goddammit the fucking title tell you the fucking point of the story, you autistic fuck.

>RPG mechanics automatically make a series shit.
in your opinion

because instead of having to do things of their own power, or having any of their own thoughts characters just call upon their magical wiki and skill points

what's interesting about that? at all? nothing. no interesting or believable story is possible in such an environment

Did you read the novel? Kumoko's PoV is just one part of the story, manga didn't adapt other characters' perspectives.

>why am I a spider
well it already failed then
title should have been
>why am I a monster from an online game

Nice opinion you have there, fuckboy

Did you never enjoy watching your parent or sibling play an RPG when you were a kid? Hell if you want the protagonist to work for their achievements it gets even worse when she exists the RPG system and becomes a God.

>skill points and analyze skill means the characters don't have agency or power
Can you think up a more retarded way to complain about this?

It seems like you're just butthurt about the author's decision to include RPG mechanics in the story, which probably had a lot to do with that type of story being very popular.

Even though they planned it out in a very logical manner so it wouldn't be like all the other shit out there.

except she isn't in an online game

Manga only reader here. When the fuck does she leave the cave? I picked this up a couple months ago after seeing a thread with some spoilers and I've been waiting for them to happen, but it's been the same running around and survive enemy encounter schtick over and over again. When does something happen?

nice argument

I never enjoyed RPG's period. their mechanics are awful even in game form but at least there they have some sort of justification out of necessity. any kind of enjoyment you'll get out of a real RPG is from immersing yourself into the characters and the world, not grinding stat points, which needs to be something you can just forget about as an abstraction to the story you are making for your character

>online game
Seriously, why the fuck are you complain about this if you don't even read this

Since when did your opinion on anything matter, Satan-kun?

Did you even bother to read before shitposting? Skills are leveled up by using them, skill points are merely entry purchase.
"I'm a spider, so what?"

could have fooled me

>it's shit
>there's a good reason for it
>it was meant to be shit
>shit is popular
(You)

>ctrl+f post hoc
>10 results

sure is autism in here

and you level up agility in TES by jumping around like an idiot, what a great mechanic to include in your story

no.

So basically you just think anything you don't like is shit.

Problem solved.

>When does something happen?
Something happens every chapter are you even reading? The specific thing you want, exiting the dungeon, happens way later. She doesn't want to leave the cave because humans are scary or whatever just deal with it.

I'd wager the manga gets canned before the story picks up. Give up on it or read the novel.

>immersing yourself into the characters and the world
I only ever played RPGs as a kid to make broken OP characters. I was that guy that played Final Fantasy Tactics with every member of my party being a calculator with a duped Excalibur spamming Holly on the entire board.
I don't really care for them anymore though. I can't into most games, really.

>you're just jealous
tier argument

I already explained why it's shit, since you're so good with ctrl f why don't you find that post?

I did the same thing on FFT, but then in the like 8 other playthroughs I did I banned myself from calculator and could STILL have broken shit, just much less broken.

Let's ignore the autistic and talk about the LN, someone has the new image of Demon King?

Sup Forums - Skill Points Ruin Everything

You level up your strength by lifting heavy things what a great mechanic to include in real life.

Those are huge vampire tits
Do we have Kumo's arachne form yet?

Would you rather spend points to jump higher? See, you'll shit on anything.

Why is Potimas such a faggot?

yeah just lift a big boulder 50 times in one day and tomorrow you'll be a level 10 strongman and can put your points into the muscle growth passive stat

I did a playthrough with double cutting knights dual wielding Exclaliburs and Save the Queens and monks with a Cid. Honestly there's too many ways to break the game, that's why I enjoyed it.

Honestly I don't like the story. Someone was just wrong on the Internet.

I'd rather read a story where no "points" of any kind are spent in lieu of actual storytelling

>T.G. Cid

King broken himself. There has never been so great a Cid and there never will be again.
