Should I read this before seeing the film?

Should I read this before seeing the film?
Koe no katachi thread I guess.

Yes.

No. The film essentially skips all the shitty parts of the manga.

Maybe.

I want to impregnate Shoko.

No, author is a hack and everything good in KnK belongs to Kyoani

I saw this movie two nights ago without reading the manga. I really liked it.

>tfw was cancelled here because it wouldnt stand a chance against those shitty local and international films

I guess i'll read it and see it on saturday in canberra
I'm sorry

>checks release dates

Like, do they even want people to watch it? It's like they want people to pirate it.

Read it, it's a pretty great manga

I saw it last Saturday in Brisbane with someone who had read the manga while having not read it, according to them I didn't miss out on much.

Just got back from seeing it.

The bullying scenes at the start were kind of awkward to sit through in the theater, but overall it was enjoyable.

The anime omits a lot of stuff from the manga and takes liberties every now-and-again. I watched it with a couple of friends of mine who hadn't read it and they agreed it was serviceable whereas I felt that a lot of scenes lacked context. My advice is watch it first to see how you feel then read the manga since it's so short.

Watch the movie first. Manga won't disappoint regardless of order while you might be disappointed with the cuts the movie had to make if you watched it after the manga.

Any examples of what was cut/changed?

From memory:
>Bypasses the majority of Shoko's childhood stuff with Shimada.
>Completely skips out on the summer movie sub-plot.
>Ignores almost all of the cast's background and character growth sequences.
>Does not go into the epilogue stuff where they go on about what they want to do once they graduate.

Sounds pretty average for a movie adaptation.
Though I would have liked to see Broccoli get fucking roasted by that asshole movie guy

But the anime graphics though...

Was Nagatsuki as bro as he was in the film as he in the manga? It's been too long since ive read it.

>Completely skips out on the summer movie sub-plot.

That's good, but how could the story make any sense without the childhood stuff?

Manga is shit. Movie is shit. Read the oneshot and call it a day.

>Completely skips out on the summer movie sub-plot.
And that's great.

He was bro-tier as fuck in the movie.

PEOPLE TRY TO PUT US D-DOWN

TALKIN' 'BOUT MY GENERATION

god tier music choice, made me sit up and take notice.

Yep. Loved this shit, pumped me up for the movie. The soundtrack was decent too.
