Lol I don't even really remember it, I was born in 2000

A Time when people weren't faggots, and we didn't know much. I was born in 2002 so...

Good times.

>A Time when people weren't faggots
>OPs pic

Plenty of faggots were around. Proof:See

Happy birthday user :^)

>people born in the 21st century can now post on Sup Forums
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

same here, been here for 4 years too lol

Life was good although I didn't have much I did have a VHS cassette of Resident Evil I remember watching that movie so many times as a child it was my favorite

before numerous credit bubbles burst circa 2007. easier to get a job, far less cynicism

considering how the period was many magnitudes shittier than what the boomers got to enjoy in their collective childhood I think i'll get to live to see a time when young adults see the normalcy in eating garbage being incapable of travelling beyond their commute

Remnants of the 90s, subcultures transitioned, and 9/11 pretty much changed a lot, we hadnt been in a major war since vietnam.

The early-mid 2000's is where today's faggotry started to sprout.

>t.1988

Laugh but, sum 41 had that one song that was catchy as fuck.

18+ to post here, boys

like dis

much better times. popular culture was much better

MODS

Why didn't we lynch George Bush again? He was the guy that literally fucked everything up .

The faster we're falling
We're stopping and stalling
We're running in circles again

were you born in january, user?

I'm 18 tho :^)

>incapable of traveling beyond their commute

Fuck, that's depressing. I was able to do some traveling to different countries over the past year. It's something I think everyone should do at least once in their life.

What was wrong with your childhood?

By turning my head

The early 2000s was when everything fell apart. Still picking up the pieces.

We need to go back

It was so much simpler then.

this, 00s were the peak of western society

the creature on the left used to bone avril lavigne

>niche internet communities existed in the 1990s
>only tech savvy and intelligent people could shitpost online
>lead to very weird internet culture
>fast forward with the uprising in social media
>low IQ people take in too much information and can't handle it
>become tranny queers because people on social media said it was the right thing to do

the last of the 90s and its the time right before everything got really fucked up by 9/11 and the internet.

this is why people hate leafs

2002 and before were basically still the 90s. It was just as shitty as today. That raunchy Jerry Springer shit and super edgy humor and shows like Jackass. The internet was great until around 2007 though.

2000 was the last year of the 20th century and 2001 the first year of the 21st century.

When did the 60s end?

One of the better times in my life. I was in my late teens, loved my CD Walkman, spent hundreds of dollars on anime DVDs weekly, downloaded shit constantly off KAZAA. I could spend all day reminiscing.

presumably when the 70s began

Thank you.
I'm pretty sure the 95-00 babbies of Sup Forums won't understand, but if you were born mid-late 80's you'll truly get that the early 2000's were peak best times.

No tumblrism faggotry, no alt right. Free expression, faggots existed on both sides but were rightly ignored. The internet was truly a wild west of exchange of ideas. I pity everyone who hasn't experienced it.

...

This. I remember emos being the ones who made it socially acceptable to be a faggot at a young age. Stand by for GOAT track

ITT: A neckbeard born in 1985 claims to have been born in 2000 and trolls you all

>you'll truly get that the early 2000's were peak best times.

The post-9/11 period wasn't the best times by any stretch of the imagination.

I was born in the 80s so I don't know. Some say Watergate, some say the Monterrey Pop Festival in '67.
It did make a comeback in the late 90s and on when the Boomers got power and tried to bring back a lot of its ideas though.

Half-Life 2 mods. AOL Instant Messenger. Sidekicks. Sportbikes. White only neighborhoods.

COZ IM IN TOO DEEP

then we must live in the 218 century

The music and drugs were cool

People used a landline to call, or god forbid, just go over and knock on the door to see if they were home. Cellphones were still like a buisinessman type thing.

I just remeber this huge optimism that everything was going to keep improving and that we all had an extremeley high tech and promising future to look forward to.

Until 9-11 it kinda seemed we were done with the worst of everything and didnt really have anything to worry about anymore.

The Altamont Free Concert is another popular "Day The '60s Ended" moment.

Reported.

AND IM TRYNA KEEP

I miss video stores and renting games.

The 90s were full of crime. What are you talking about? There were drive by shootings and gang wars everywhere.

31st December 1969. I googled it.

I miss how edgy it was. Everyone was so in-your-face and rebellious. I miss goth kids. It just got progressively faggier over time. It was goth, then emo, then scene, then hipsters, and now tumblrinas. Ironically, each of these "counterculture" movements became progressively more conformist. Why does everyone trust authority and the media? Nobody did 15 years ago.

TACO SPORK LOLZ IM SO RANDUMB!

The millinials were only just beginning to manifest the cancer, back then they were still only just slightly irritating and a little bit too sensitive to criticism.

>LAUGHS IN AUSTRALIAN

My parents didn't get a cellphone until 1999 or 2000 and the bills were outrageous. I didn't get one until 2005 when I was going to college.
I remember if you were ever out somewhere or away from home in the 90s you would have to make a collect call from a pay phone (if you were a kid and didn't have change)

No pop culture was still Jewish and anti white just not to the extent we see today. They we're still trying to guilt trip whites and push race mixing..

Yes, it really was. How you can deny this I don't know.

This

I miss my room from 2003.

Yes it was. 9/11 / Iraq / Afghanistan was a net positive on society considering it taught a generation of kids to not be bootlicking faggots.

I'm convinced the current political climate we live in (kekistan retards, sjw retards) is a result of kids during that era wanting their own Iraq/Afghanistan/911 to be a part of. Instead they just throw themselves at someone fucking retarded like Trump or Bernie.

That era made people toughen up to the realities of life. Idiots who cling to social justice or pepe memes have no idea what it was like to actually oppose something, to the point they need to LARP pizzagate and russian collusion memes into real life to have something to care about. It's a goddamn shame.

Yeah, I remember that shit. I also remember during the late 90's/early 2000's it was also acceptable to bully the fuck out of those fags. Looks like we didn't bully hard enough.

Man, that optimism... The future was so bright, you had to wear shades, and then 9/11 happened. Everything was downhill from there.

Grow the fuck up fagit, do you know how pathetic you sound?

This was the 90s
It was full of riots and crime and gangs shooting each other.

I lived in rural america (Montana specifically) so for me it was really idyllic and rockwellian. The worst that ever happened was some rednecks got into a fight at the bar. Somebody just getting caught with weed made them a complete social leper.

It was before our two lumber mills shut down causing mass unemployment. Then meth happened. Then 9-11 and the ensuing war, then the housing crisis and a bunch of foreclosures.

Gutted the place completeley. Makes me even more sad because I remember how it was, a little slice of true americana that hadnt been destroyed yet.

Social media ruined everything

This, faceberg especially.

Kids all throughout Europe danced to trance music on MDMA while the Jews destroyed their countries and laughed at how they could actually create the music themselves now.

turrible

Cause I'm in too deep
And I'm trying to keep
Up above in my head
Instead of going under

A comfy time where:
>deleting internet explorer on the windows 2000 family computer fucked shit up badly for the computer and caused some chaos
>user interface looked like greyed out shit and seeing a vista computer in best buy around 2006 was some mind blowing eye orgasm
>firefox in its early days was cool and you got excited for firefox updates
>no one REALLY knew what was actually going on with iraq war and the deep state but bush was comfy president with bantz
>2004 election was like 2016 election in certain ways but everyone wasnt so hardcore about politics, replace trump with bush, clinton with kerry

Nowadays tech is all a major botnet with horrible user experiences and everyone is hardcore politics redpilled/bluepilled, they were some comfy oblivious times we'll never get again OP

Not where I grew up. Back then, that shit was contained to the ((urban)) areas.

I don't know I was born in 2028

He was having sex with this though.

I miss a time where people didn't try to all record concerts with cellphones like fucking faggots. Just enjoy the experience of being in the moment for once.
That's about it though. It's better now overall.

Everything before 9/11/2001 was great desu.

Culturally, I’d say 72 or 73

>year of our lord Y2K
>still used internet explorer

Plebs will remain plebs

Yep. It feels like I'm talking to NPCs. I was in middle school when smart phones just started taking off. Nobody is the same anymore. When I talk to my "friends" in college, everyone is simultaneously on their phones. Nobody talks about anything interesting. It's all vapid nothingness. Ironically, Sup Forums, the place with the worst reputation for public discourse, is the only place I can get a real conversation.

>if you lived in the inner city

Pro-tip, most of us dont. The 90's crime wave hit a few major cities, but did not effect anywhere even near the majority of the population.

Right? Everyone just had to go to college, and boom. Youd snag a job as an IT consultant, software programmer, or network engineer and be making 6 figures to do the sort of shit we now outsource for. It was an era when a kid right out of college could make a website that just did some stupid shit we take forgranted today and be 80 million richer 5 years later.

I take it you never watched the local news. Setting homes on fire was a regular thing.

Geocities it’s where all went to shit

i miss it and my hair

>Why does everyone trust authority and the media? Nobody did 15 years ago.

The corporates have taken over counterculture.

For me Brit pop was the end.

youtube.com/watch?v=DtCfQt2W408

YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO TELL!

People dont talk about things online anymore. Theyre just blurting tidbits of data or trying to pen the least literate snarky comments they can come up with.

I remember chatrooms where you just talked about the most interesting shit with people. It was like a precursor to Sup Forums, only normies couldnt get in because they couldnt figure it out. User friendly interfaces simply meant not having to know how to code to use it, things were a lot more like the wild west online.

Says someone who clearly never experienced renting games from a video store.

Just dial down the center
>1-800-CALL-ATT

a/s/l

I don't recall arson being a thing anywhere that I lived during that era. Oh well, YMMV, I guess.

>go online
>join any community without sign ups, email or name required
>email requirements were basically a user name and password period
>pop open msn messenger or aol messenger, ASL bitch
>nobody had a webcam with the exemption of old white men
>porn sites were pay only, very little free porn, only 30 seconds of action, took 10 mins to load a 1mb clip

All in all a good time

THIS

I'm trying so hard to get my friends from college to go out on the weekends so I won't be stuck on my computer all the time. FB, Twitter and even Snapchat are fucking cancer now.

Makes me think of this song youtu.be/Soa3gO7tL-c

cuuuuuuuuuuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

we like having fun at other peoples expenses
and,
Cutting people down is just a minor offence then,
It's none of your concern, I guess I'll never learn.
I'm sick of being told to wait my turn.

He doesn't look so bad now

The real redpill isn't that 9/11 ruined everything, the truth is that 9/11 is what made many people stop being blind sheep filled with optimism

Was the best time. Technology was moving so fast, music was amazing, raves, ecstacy etc

If we had known the crash of 2007/8 was coming we probably would have done something useful. Our entire generation just spent 5 years munching pills and dancing to music that builds up and goes blip and we achieved nothing.

Sorry bout that gen Y. Was super fun tho
