>juan
mexicans? on my puppet shows?

Those names threw me off so bad, I can't remember anyone but Ken

you only need to remember the smug duck

Surely you remember the Edgeless Blade?

>remembering dirty hobos

>not remembering best boy

Why is he a duck?

i remember the duck
because he is cute, CUTE

>best anime of 2016 wasn't even anime
Explain this right now Sup Forums.

New season when?

On production already, what I wonder is what the story will be about.
I'm putting all my money on timeskip with Taihei blonde daughter as the MC going for help with unca Sho.

Urobutcher found a way

Is it even onfirmed to be a season 2? The message at the end just said "sequel", it ould be a movie or ova.

Shit, my c button is broken.

There's going to be both an OVA and a new season, I think they said the OVA was going to be more focused on Enigmatic Gale's past or something? I'm trying to remember what an user told me last time there was a big Thunderbolt Fantasy thread.

Movie prequel was already announced, and it would be about the Phoenix's past. The weird part is that there's still Shou on the poster, while he should be quite far away at that time.

ova is phoenix killer and vape duck's past

Did it actually sell well to justify all this?

I don't remember sales being particularly bad, you also have to remember it was voiced and aired in three countries (Japan, China, Taiwan) so there's probably no easy way of telling how good sales were internationally.

OVA based on the light novel about how Duck fucked Phoenix and K-Guy. Supposedly it takes so long for Gen to write they figured we'll use this existing text and edit it.

Well, the actual thing about is:
how Duck fucked Killer and Sho's story between S1 and S2.
Heard about that Demon lady story in novel is almost R-18, and they won't make whole republished story into a movie. It won't attract audience who are satisfied from the novel.
So they add new part about Sho and remove the demon lady into a new movie

Is this still lewd if they are puppets?

Spoiler that shit.

>Heard about that Demon lady story in novel is almost R-18
...Elaborate.

No fucking kidding. I thought it was more enjoyable than anything else I watched in 2016. Maybe part of it also has to do with the entertaining threads.

Even more, because they're actually being puppeteered by people in real time to do that, not merely a simulation made by still drawings moving by at a speed high enough to make it appear to be moving.

But can you still love a puppet if another man's hand has been inside her?

only if you make her say your hand feels better than her owner's hand

I guess he means the puppet from K-guy's story was too lewd, probably wouldn't be easy turning her into a puppet.

The second part of the movie which is about Shoufukan is newly written content by Urobuchi and will serve to bridge the gap between the events of S1 and S2.

Autistic love for the puppets.
The April fool's joke video had Jiji swordfighting right handed. That's because all samurai are right handed. It wouldn't make sense and PILI were able to pull it off.
I didn't even notice until Urobuchi went on, on twitter about how this is a historical piece of content for PILI and is worth cherishing.

Does anybody have the april fool's video anywhere since they took it down

Still on bilibili

bilibili.com/video/av9517732/?from=search&seid=6455360924799719917

Nico douga still has that video up.

You could post a Thunderbolt Fantasy on /an/ and I'd break all rules to post in it regardless

POST A FAVORITE MOMENT

>When dirty hobo walks past the demon lady's room, takes a quick look before trying to move on, is spotted and asked what the hell he wants, and he just quietly facepalms before trying to be friendly and exchange information
>only to be totally rebuffed

Who thought a puppet doing a facepalm could come off as such a profound expression of quiet annoyance and resignation

I didn't notice until you pointed that out. How they did it is just ingenious.

I assume they typically do left handed fighters because of how their secret sauce puppetry works, right? So they used clever camera tricks to get him to look right handed in the April Fools video?

No that puppet was operated by three puppeteers instead of just one or two.

>last season was Kemono friends

Hand-drawn anime is obsolete now.

Tan Hi is for bullying!

And sexualizing!

She's a baby maker now.

Better than being dead.

Near the very end, when Edgeless Blade's chuuni poem came up was absolutely fucking amazing.

THE LAND IS CLOAKED IN DEEPEST BLUE

Well, it is not chuuni poem, it is like soliloquy in drama to introduce a character into the first seeing audience.

>拙劍無式・鬼神辟易
The moment it went all YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

post the 2hu-tier specials

Same here. I'm a sucker for bookends. Absolutely loved the ending with him returning the umbrella.

>try to look into other chinese puppetry
>the dub voice is utter garbage
Fucking why. Good VAs enhance the experience.

Good news: demons don't die for long, they just reincarnate.
Bad news: You may or may not like her(his) new form.

>Bad news: You may or may not like her(his) new form.
Nah, puppets are expensive and as such she isn't going to lose her old design unless they had to.

Anime is overrated and dead

>Good VAs enhance the experience.

So-so VA enhance the budget juggling experience.

So Hot Demon Girl (Male)?

Why Screaming Phoenix's design was edgy chuuni as fuck?

They already have about a handful of puppets for characters who are never coming back.

This could be her new form. I'm calling it now.

>Didn't finish watching it when it was airing

Is there anywhere with translations for the poem-like words that appear before fights or whatever?

Yes. Sup Forums.

Why do people consider Shoufukan stronger than Bones, when he thought fighting Setsmushou was a risk whereas Bones predicted how many moves it would take him to win?

That contradicts nothing. Shofukan's whole deal is that he's pragmatic and likes to keep a low profile. And remember, all this while he's still only equipped with a wooden stick. That puts you on the top rank in wuxia.

That does contradict. "this guy is dangerous and I'm not sure I can beat him, it could be risky" is pretty much exactly the opposite of "I'm so much stronger than him I can even tell you in how many moves I'll win". It means Bones is at least stronger than Shofukan with a stick.

Should we expect more of these kind of shows in the future?

Again, that's the point of the characters. Shofukan keeps a low profile. He doesn't flaunt and he's not prideful and thus doesn't try to underestimate his opponents. And the situations were also different. Shofukan wasn't trying to kill Phoenix, Bones was.

You seriously need to pay more attention.

You realize it's that very mentality is why Bones was shocked when he finds out that vape guy's martial arts is better than his, right? Turns out sometimes the enemy may not be like what they seem and hence can't predict the moves properly.

>He doesn't flaunt and he's not prideful and thus doesn't try to underestimate his opponents.
Yet he has no problem slaughtering mooks by the dozen in gruesome ways when he get in his way less than Phoenix did that time.

Still no contradiction there. He doesn't like flaunting, doesn't mean he doesn't use his skills when the needs call for it. Seriously, go re-watch the damn thing and pay attention this time. Can't believe you are having difficulty grasping something like this.

Dawn of a new age; an age of puppets.

BJD fetishists fapping themselves into a coma. PILI stock skyrocketing. Taiean an new superpower. Grown men seriously considering spending $1,000 on a sack with a wooden head. These are things on the horizon for us.

I don't need to rewatch anything. Simply saying "no contradiction" doesn't make the contradiction go away.
>masked mooks get in Shou's way
>slaughter them
>Phoenix gets in Shou's way worse than the mooks did
>he takes it easy because this guy is dangerous
>"But yeah, this totally doesn't mean Bones who had an easy time with Phoenix is stronger. Shou just doesn't like to flaunt"

You may not agree with my conclusion, but it doesn't change the fact that there's even less evidence for Shou being stronger than Bones than the other way around.

He's not sitting down to tea with the mooks, you idiot, they're attacking him.

>he takes it easy because this guy is dangerous

Rewatch that episode, that comment was for Tanhi's sake.

Also if Rin didn't intervene during their mind battle, Shoufukan would have won and Rin would have discovered Shou's true nature. Remember, even Rin wasn't aware that Shou was OP.

If you pay attention to Shou's words and even the line that they use in TBF's website you can figure out that Shou only resorts to killing if he can't avoid it or if his enemy can't be negotiated with.

...

>we will never get an OVA with her and her onii-chan doing cute sibling things

>>Phoenix gets in Shou's way worse than the mooks did
Did you forget that when they were having tea Phoenix couldn't find a way to kill Shou throughout the entire conversation? Dude has an iron defense and as we've seen he's a powerhouse by wuxia standards.

The point of Shou's character is that he's the protagonist of another story that already ended. He's singlehandedly conquered multiple "Bones of Creation" type villains on his own continent and taken their swords because they were being pains in his dick.

If that's the case, why would this situation be any different?

Next season is all about Shou and duck.

S1 was supposed to be an introduction to both Pili puppetry and also wuxia as a genre that's why Butcher kept things tame and had a fantasy story which is something japs are familiar with.
Next season is going to be crazier and more wuxia heavy to be a bit more like a Pili series, which are apparently a lot out of there, with insane power levels and things like vampires are accepted.

TBF is just preparation to watch Pili shows, after S2 I would imagine they're going to announce a dub or sub of their most popular series and license it in Japan.

I just realized the significance of Shou's chosen VA. Urobuchi you sneaky motherfucker.

I feel like the middle panel could be something else but I can't think of anything. Nice though.

I say paint the stick silver and include a spray can in the third panel

How new are you to not have been here when it aired?

Also applies to Betsu Ten Guy.

Why was he called the Frozen Wonder? He didn't use ice magic, his personality wasn't cold, he wasn't even wonderful. He was just a guy with a spear. At least the One-Eyed Impaler was missing an eye.

>Why was he called the Frozen Wonder?
He wanted to be called the frozen wonder and I always assumed it's because he's caucasian, and if this is supposed to be fantasy China, Ken would be from from the northern areas of what is Eurasia.

tell me about the duck
why does he vapes

>not having your favorite moment be any time Frozen Wonder is just super expressive and cocky.
Also OP here, thanks for keeping thread alive

>Caucasian
his name is juan

>Blue Eyes
>Blond Hair
>Claims to be from the frozen north
>Everyone else but vape is brown eyed and black haired
Would it be that odd for him to either be descendant of a European, or just be a traveling European that picked up a Taiwanese name?

This show had one of the most Visually beautiful and Ear-pleasing opening's I've seen. Been binging it for a week

Get this movie, it's standalone and the only thing subbed.

>mega.nz/#F!B9gy2RYT!TbwLrtNervCw5ZHocgOOMw

Thanka user
Will i miss anything from the series if I don't watch anything previous?

I love that this guy was the biggest asshole up to the very end. Even if his swordfighting was eventually outmatched, his dickishness was unparalleled. Saw through every single one of gale's tricks and didn't give him the satisfaction of admitting he was defeated.

>Is there any place to watch PILI, particularly with subs in English, I've found nothing so far.

Series has never been subbed, probably because each episode is 90 minutes long with each season having around 40 episodes.
Also the series handles continuity the same way comic books do, which makes it even harder to get into the series.

I think if they made a crossover between Pili characters and TBF characters it would clue in newfags like us.

Who's that?

If you mean to Thunderbolt Fantasy, it's unrelated. If you mean to Taiwanese Pili, I don't know because it's the only thing I watched. But the movie is standalone.

In Chinese poems, frost and ice are used to describe the glare from a weapon's blade, usually used to emphasize the intimidation aspect of the weapon. As for "Wonder" it's a nickname he made up by himself for himself.

>90 minutes
what the fuck

Jesus

Who is this Semen Demon Overlord

That's just his self-proclaimed name, he was later known as the Baby Maker Wonder.
