Just finished Toradora

Just finished Toradora.

It was super-good, I really liked it. I'm not a big romance anime kind of guy but damn.

What'd you anons think of it?

It's a classic that bears multiple watches, Particularly to pay more attention to Ami and Miniri on the second watch when you aren't as absorbed in the plot overall.

Be honest though, motherfucker. Did you cry?

>let's pretend I typed Minorin correctly and in exchange I'll tell you that there is a VN that continues the story signifigantly and has the original cast.

only a couple times, but yeah

Was it when Taiga runs out into the street barefooted with the cold piercing her like razors, crying for Ryuuji, clutching and smelling his scarf?

FUCK.

...

I thought Watashitachi no Tamura-kun was better.

Nah it was when Taiga won. I felt so sorry for Ryuuji being saddled with such a worthless burden.

6/10 at best
Didn't really like any of the girls

>merry christmas
gets me every time.

How can anybody like Taiga?

Minori should have won and Taiga should have grown the fuck up

>be a little whiny bitch ass kid
>cuck your bff
>win boy

>just finished
>just
>posting opinions now instead of waiting 24 h and doing it with a cool head

Yeah, I loved it its one of my top 3 anime, I think I am gonna buy it on blue ray, normally I just stream the shit but Toradora is really dear to my heart.

I have been planning to watch it for some time now, but i am not sure anymore, since i have started to hate cryporn shit with a passion.

Is this show a fored melodrama?

Tell me more about it.

Toradora is the greatest love story ever told.

Because she's complicated and not just moeblob fanservice as you prefer. If you can't see past "classic tsundere bitch" then it simply went over your head.

>Is this show a forced melodrama?
Pretty much.

...

>Is this show a fored melodrama?
What do you mean by forced?

Second greatest love story ever told after Kimi no na wa

That would be a huge disservice. The premise is dumb (you lost your memory) but a necessary contrivance. You reach the point the show/LN leave off eventually though and the earlier parts of the game allow you to set it up so you have actual choices.

A lil' teaser is that if you fuck up you can get worst ending almost immediately and end up as Ami's bootlicking sycophant (which she has no respect for).

It's top notch at least and seals the fucking deal with no "fans are whiny bitches so lets not anger them" waffling around.

Toradora. Yet another example of how tsun tsun bitches always beat out best girl

I miss when Toradora threads were ami hijackied. This anime sucked. Taiga was ugly and annoying and all the characters generally deserved nothing more than being shoved through a meat grinder.

I watched it so long ago that I barely remember it.

Greatest love story ever told

Melodrama by its definition is forced. Yeah it gets pretty melodramatic but it's enjoyable melodrama like Romeo & Juliet.

teen drama and tiger is a cunt

Don't bother, Sup Forums hates it.

Personally I liked it a lot. Happy to see another user with good taste.

>saddled
He could always say no. It was his choice.

>he hasn't played the VN to see the canon ending

SHIGGY

You're right. It's also one of the greatest comedies as well.

Which one? Haters seems to be divided between Ami and Minorin.

...

There are two kinds of drama.

First is the kind, where in the story there is a death or some other sad moment. The writer does not want you do cry at that moment, but you cry because you actually care.

Second is the kind where the writer really wants to make you cry, so he pulls out all the stops. He really wants to force you to cry, so he inserts a sad song, characters start crying and the situation is written in such a way, that it manipulates you into crying. That is forced melodrama and i hate it. Stuff like Kimi no nawa, Anohana and Ef a tale of memories are all guilty of this, and i despise them.

...

>there is a death
>The writer does not want you do cry

This is still the only scene that I've watched that ever made me cry.

Great anime

Discuss the scene where Taiga peeked at Ami shower and remarked that it was huge. What is it?

a. big ass
b. hairy bushy cunt
c. meaty flappy cunt

Isn't it an untranslated PSP game?

Taigafags still mad

Spoken like someone who has never watched/read a good romance. Toradora is shit tier.

>falling for the greatest love story ever told meme

Ami is too mature for her own good, she backed off voluntary when she knew that her chance is pretty low.

what's with these toradora shitposts?

what's your endgame?

Name a better one.

>pic related

Not that guy but Kare Kano, Maison Ikkoku, Honey and Clover come to mind

Lots of people "just finished toradora" this week...

KareKano and Maison Ikkoku were boring. Guess I'll check out Honey & Clover.

>Sup Forums hates it
>Annual group viewing
>Regular threads years afterwards with no new content to discuss

Yes

Kimi ni Todoke, Ore Monogatari, Oreimo.

You misunderstand drama. You think drama is what you like and melodrama is the same thing but instances you don't like. Drama is drama, and good artistry involves music, lighting, acting, etc.. If you're crying, you weren't manipulated, YOU *felt it* and it was by every definition successful drama. You're saying good acting "manipulates" you into believing the characters seem real or interesting. Which is correct and desirable.

Your second description is actually "maudlin". Cheap and easy and lacking subtlety or feeling like it's earned or warranted the emotions or situations it's going for. This does not apply to Toradora, which is a fairly slow-burn character-focused drama/comedy that has payoffs based on valid character interaction and plot that's natural for the most part. Best parts would be the Christmas thing, scenes where Ami lays out her real personality by the vending machines, Taiga's 180 from being a textbook bitch to understanding why, to her becoming the girl with the sheet on her head enacting a wedding..."again....again."

Less than stellar parts are the eps with her dad that were kind of pointless. They were clearly meant to help set up later payoff but IMO were unneeded and subtlety would have been better.

By and large, it flows naturally, has a LOT of slow, quiet character interactions and nuance. Especially between Ryuuji and Minori. This whole "hoping favorite character in a vaccum 'wins'"shit is a leaking tumor that needs excised. Minori quietly rejecting Ryuuji is SO much more interesting (and real) than the usual anime crap where you're just picking your favorite fighting game character to win on a selection screen. Bittersweet is hard to pull off and it does it in spades.

Toradora earns every bit of the feels it dishes out, is not overwrought or "manipulative". It does not have the drama equivalent of a jump scare. People don't like it when things get under their skin like this did to people trying to hate on it.

Yes but not as bad as clannad or shitgatsu.

The fucking show is about how there is really not a "best girl" in reality. They are always flawed girls and you pick the one you love the most and somebody is going to get hurt and there will be regrets. Such is life. I've been there, you will be there (unless you're a hikkiNEET in which case, you're textbook Sup Forums).

Clannad wasnt that bad. It gave us almost 40 episodes to get to know the main couple, before it got into the real feels. And it set up every feel good/bad moment, really early. It's way better than something like Ef or Anohana, that has like 12 episodes, and expects you to already start crying at episode 5.

Honey and Clover is in a completely different league, you can't compare it to Toradora.

A "Rebuild" of Karekano could be better than Toradora, but the anime we have right now is not.

Ore Monogatari doesn't have the deep that Toradora has, is funnier but not better.

I haven't read the Kimi ni Todoke manga past the anime seasons, but the anime was really good.

Take your shit taste back to animesuki. Kare Kano blows Torahorribe out of the fucking water.

Maison Ikkoku made me cry manly tears and you deserve an extra (You) for knowing the classics which are being lost to time like the lore of Gondorin.

>deep that Toradora has
>deep
>deep
>deep
>deep
>deep
>derp
Hold on, i'm laughing my ass off here.

I fixed the dipshit's anime-casual Britney Spears fan's version that was already posted above.

...

Everybody seems to forget this scene.

...

I haven't watched this can someone spoil the sad stuff for me?
I couldn't find them on google

I've seen it, it wasn't that good. Can someone explain me why all of you are claiming it is the best?

the tsun girl leaves and the kid goes to get her

...

The female lead is a drama queen, that's basically all of it.

There are a lot, user, I just mention the ones that pop into my head immediately. Also her on stage when she talks about the m-m-m-m-morgue!

So you came up dry. Good to know.

Someone already mentioned Maison Ikkoku, watch that so next time you can come armed.

>Torahorribe
You're the one who belongs to Animesuki.

i'd fuck her, minorin is hotter tho.

A guy runs a company and had a sled as a child.

A man tried to kill himself and a guy shows him flashbacks on Christmas.

Some dinosaurs try to eat kids.

>It was super-good
I disagree, I thought the entire second half was shit even though that kiss was top tier. Also I hated how they tried to make me feel sorry for the dumb whore mother.

speaking of toradora
whatever happened to our favorite autist?

Fully translated

The story is nothing to write home about. It's just well executed.

I miss her

>Her
No woman will ever be that good at shitposting

>Toradora is approaching 10 years old
holy shit

NO!

berserk

They would never work as a long-term couple, user, and you know this. Minori and him like each other and that's it. She is an untouchable ideal that doesn't match up with the reality once she's in reach. They like each other. Ryuuji and Taiga NEED each other to live.

extended for your pleasure

>Ryuuji and Taiga NEED each other to live.

Then they will fail.

>Sup Forums doesn't remember taiga
I don't know whether this is a good thing or a bad thing

...

Not how that works, user.

Memest post in the thread.

I never understood the whole thing though

GREATEST LOVE STORY EVER TOLD

>Not feeling sad for Yasuko
The show is not bad. You're just dead inside.

And stand back up together. As many times as it takes before they realize they've been experiencing happiness without noticing.

I don't feel bad for single mothers. Ryuji is fucked up because of her poor decisions.

Ryuuji is a good person because of her determination to deal with her poor decisions. She kept him and gave him a decent life with no one's help. It's true people are defined by their desicions but they're equally defined by the actions that take to deal with the consequences of those.

Still not feeling it, sorry. His mom is hot as least.

But Toradora isn't Oreimo

Toradora was my first, and for that I will always love her
