Are Barakamon and tanaka-kun wa itsumo kedaruge the two best SoL/comedy anime in recent years? No, before you go there: Main Dragon and Umaru were both mediocre at best.
Are Barakamon and tanaka-kun wa itsumo kedaruge the two best SoL/comedy anime in recent years? No...
They were certainly some of the best laid back types of comedy in recent years, but I would call either the best sol comedy.
But Tanaka-kun is completely generic and forgettable outside its two main characters. The unique quiet/dry comedy tone gets completely fucked up by the obnoxious midget and the obligatory love interest.
How recent are we talking? Because Barakamon was three years ago.
>Barakamon was three years ago
Lets say since 2014.
Barakamon is much better than Tanaka Kun, it's pretty much perfect for what it is. Tanaka Kun wasn't quite as funny or emotionally affecting, and lacks the character development in Barakamon.
This
Was Handa-kun even anything like Barakamon at all.
Wakaba Girl is my favorite of the past few years.
I really liked Barakamon so I aggre on that one but Tanaka-kun sucked ass.
Wew lad
Barakamon yes, Tanaka-kun was pretty good though.
Kokkuri-san
I'm not really fond of Handa-kun, to tell the truth. It feels like some kind of discount Sakamoto and it isn't really that funny. Barakamon is way better.
>MC is male
no thanks
Fuck off and kill yourself, disgusting frog-cancer.
Fuck off and kill yourself, disgusting feels-cancer.
Again with this shit?
>why this gag comedy is nothing like an iyashikei
Cause you are retarded and Handa-kun was genuinely funny.
Sorry, man. I will stop having opinions.
I think the genuinely terrible first episode scared a lot of people away to be fair.
To be honest even after that it was very hit-or-miss.
Kokkuri-san was dumb shit about the dog and tanuki most of the time though.
While Bakaramon certainly made me feel a bit more invested than takanka-kun, I can honestly say that the show hardly ever made me laugh. Bakaramon is more SoL than comedy while tanaka-kun is the polar opposite. The two shows, while being classified as part of the same sub genres, cant really be compared if you ask me. Bakaramon is way more straight forward with its jokes and relies more on funny faces while tanaka-kun is dry humor in its purest form with two annoying as fucking characters in form of Ecchan and the midget.
...
When will Handa fill the naruwomb?
This better not be a flag. I don't fucking trust female authors with this sorta thing anymore.
I greatly enjoyed Sangatsu no Lion. I'm not a fan of the genre, but the the characters quickly won me over. There's not a single character I disliked in this. Even the biggest assholes were interesting to watch. I've heard it being called sad, but I didn't think it was that sad. It just wasn't happy all the time. I liked that.
I liked the characters but couldn't bring myself to care about the shogi. Not just the matches, but all the shogi-related banter and shit too was just lost on me.
the shogi isn't important
the symbolism is important
Am I the only one that likes Tanaka better than Barakamon?
I can agree there. It might've helped if I even knew the rules, but I didn't, and I wasn't interested in learning. I liked the subtext of it all, what it meant to the characters, what were they went through after a winning or losing, but I didn't care about any of the Shogi itself. It was boring. I especially lost myself when they were talking about strategies and tactics and shit. Again, I liked seeing the characters geek out about it, but didn't care about the conversation that was taking place.
Another thing I was slightly disappointed with was the lack of screentime Kawamoto family got in the latter half. I liked the new characters, and I liked seeing Rei slowly get to know more people, but I LOVED the three sisters. I wished to see them more.
No I do as well for the reasons described here . Barakamon was feel-good to the maximum, but not really funny.
