The actual condition is called CHS (Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome) and it's very well-documented.
People who use cannabis to an alarming excess develop this and it does amount to physical dependence as only near full body immersion in hot water or further cannabis use can relieve it. There's been an increase of it in the last decade.

This isn't about whether we should legalize weed or not, it's if the condition exists and if this particular article on snopes is accurate and it is.
Also, the government wants to have control over weed so they can keep you doped and pacified legally, not to save you from the evil cartels.
It's a real condition, but very rare. I forget the term for it, but it makes you vomit and I think it causes stomach pain which may explain the screaming. It's basically a THC toxicity. I think hot showers are supposed to help, if they insist on continuing.
