Mika didnt get his farm ending

Nagai would rather be working on The New Adventures of Saten than some Gendum

too much meandering and loss of focus in season 2

Hush.

Okada.

Everything turnaround when the ironmask reveal his face. I dont get it of there noble family laws.

Didn' t follow the same shitty gundam formula.

McGuyver going "Muh Bael"

Terrible character designs for one.

They let a woman write a mecha show.

Characters were mostly bad

Women can't write about military that's a fact.

Terrible head staff.

Tekkadan was bad.
Turbines were bad (and a waste of screentime).
Gjallarhorn was bad.

Besides McGillis, Ein, and S1 Gaelio, I can't say I found the rest of the cast enjoyable when they were out of combat. The combat itself was mediocre anyway though.

I think Hiromu Arakawa did a well enough job with Full Metal Alchemist's interpretations of a military.

She's an exception.

Terrible writing, good animation, good modern mecha design, decent soundtrack

This

Yeah, just sayin', there's a few out. Even if it's just a few.

This I would also include that Mackie didn't win.
If Mika and Mackie went to space together they could have made Gjallargorn great again.
They could have been Griffith and Guts in the best way possible.

>good modern mecha design
Are you for real? That no waist shit is horrible and should stop.

Can something go wrong if it never goes anywhere at all?

S2 had a decent start with Tekkadan having to deal with new internal/external pressures such as Rustal's sabotage through Galan Mossa and the entire mobile armor sequence.

Orga's unbelievable partnership with McGillis and McGillis' idiotic coup strategy of seizing a single mobile unit ruined the second half.

Idiotic decisions and weak characterization made it difficult for me to feel any positive or negative attachment to any of the characters so the climatic sequences toward the end of the show fell flat. Still, I watched the whole thing so maybe I'm part of the problem.

>Terrible character designs for one.
No.

The problem was the director this time. Okada reigned him in.

Nagai's boner for tragedy.

Also, Okada's tendency to change the story in favor of her favorite characters (Gaelio, Eugene).

The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth, especially how they handled Shino's death (along with Flauros).

Julieta made Shino miss that shot.

Can't help the ending would have been a lot better if Rustal died there, and the remaining episodes dealt with Macky pulling some shit with Mobile Armors after a timeskip.

>I would also include that Mackie didn't win

Its funny. I just wanted that pic, I thought maybe someone would reply with it. And so happened. Thanks a lot.

You know what you call it when the character designs clash with the themes presented without the goal being to emphasize a bizarre ambiance?

A lack of focus.

For a series that attempted to explore topics such as child soldiers, the characters innocent and clean (despite the few black lines to mimic dirt on them) directly clash with the themes, the premise, and the plot.

Shit like those retarted hair designs just detract from what could have been.

Nagai and Okada. And whatever incompetents were assigned to animate it.

Retarded hair is one Gundam trope they checked off the list.

It failed to answer "why" beyond "when kids have shitty childhoods, they grow up to be adults who make shitty decisions".

Maybe that's the message after all.

Okada wanted to make a good Gundam, but Nagai wouldn't let her.
So she just rewrote the series for her husbando Gali Gali to get the best ending.
Which was good.

This, aside from the animation bit. I didn't find that too offputting.

Gali was the only reason I pulled myself through the 2nd season.

Still doesn't make it okay for her to trample on other characters in favor of Gaelio.

dainsleifs spamman

But Gali and Eugene were a few of the legit good characters.
They deserved a happy ending.
Orga didn't get one because he got greedy.
And Mika didn't get one because he really shouldn't raise kids.

But I think that Shino's death was actually a good thing. Especially because I was getting kind of sick of Tekkadan's tendency to always win no matter what.

Fuck you.
Itoh Yu is a treasure.
She can't help it if Sunrise's studio F isn't capable of translating them proper.

Biscuit died.

>good animation, good modern mecha design

sh

That speaks more for your shit taste than anything
>But Gali and Eugene were a few of the legit good characters.
Oh wait you're seriously

Still waiting

show me ONE bad mecha/terrible design for IBO (i can name one so you should be albe too also :) )
as for the Animation i said it was GOOD i did not say it was fantastic or even great im sure you've watched many anime with lesser animation and still enjoyed
also show me a picture of a bad IBO gundam
instead of a shitty gif of two normies pointing and laughing you twat

Mad rat poster detected.

Literally edgy.

you seemed to have missed my post

Gaelio was great.

>as for the Animation i said it was GOOD
And I'm laughing at your stupid ass for thinking that. The downfall of IBO is one of the most satisfying thing that's happened in Gundam in such a long time because so many people had to eat their shit sandwiches to save face.

only 1 survivor

>show me ONE bad mecha/terrible design for IBO
Man that was hard

i agree good job well done
like i said i can name a few also

>Gaelio, Eugene
She has a good taste then.

>Implying Sup Forums is the main character
Fucking Kek

The whole show feels like a series of compromised decisions. Like the show wanted to be more brutal and dark than it was, and because of that several things didn't feel as impactful as they should have. It also confused the tone, trying to show how brutal things are for everyone, while at the same time never really exploring them in depth.

The show itself lacks an overarching plot, and the attempt to find one completely derailed S2. If it had been a single season, it would've been fine - Tekkadan completing the job and pulling together for themselves worked, but watching them fight a war they had no business being in for reasons they didn't understand wasn't compelling in the slightest.

I enjoyed it for what it was, and if they somehow pull of a miracle and get renewed, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, but I have no idea where they'll go that could appeal to anyone but the already frustrated fanbase.

>Orga's unbelievable partnership with McGillis and McGillis' idiotic coup strategy of seizing a single mobile unit ruined the second half.
Leave it to Sup Forums to be so ignorant about how the world works, even in fucking anime.
>anime picture
>K-On to top it all off
You still haven't.

All these weid moments.

Nothing, it saved Gundam after the Greko fiasco.

>downfall of IBO
>he's so butthurt about the show not being the flop he wanted it to be that he has to come up with alternative universes to cope up
My sides. Keep telling yourself that, retard. Your denial is so adorable.

I don't give a fuck about whoever she likes, but literally every character she touches turns into shit the moment she tries to fit them into her ideal image.
> Eugene
> VA was chosen because "he sounded like he loves Orga very much"
> Supposed to betray Tekkadan in S1, but Okada magic finds its way.
> Irrelevant throughout S2.
> Passed around from Orga, to Shino, to Kudelia.
> Without mobile suit, his fans are mostly fujos.

> Gaelio
> McGillis's friend who was supposed to have minor role in IBO
> Okada magic finds its way
> Hogs all the screentime in S2, leaving Mika, Orga, Shino, Eugene, and Akihiro underdeveloped as fuck.
> Ending shows him getting romantically involved with Okada's self-insert instead of using half of that screen time to show what happens to Almiria, space Hitler, or Teiwaz/Turbines.

meant for

S1 was not bad, I mean, they had a focus and a plot, bring that girl from Mars to Earth.

S2 was a complete clusterfuck, rewritten 3 times in the middle of it with massive plot holes and poor writing.
Don't know how to solve that situation? DAINSELF TEAM PREPARE TO FIRE!

Shino didn't slam cute, virgin boipucci

Shut Hell characters look great, IBO ones look goofy, stiff and ugly, you wouldn't be able to tell those are hers without prior knowledge.

>What went wrong?
Nothing

Honestly, I think the worst thing about IBO is that it had some cool ideas that never fully developed or were pushed aside

OKADA

It felt like it was trying to be Thunderbolt, but it wasn't anywhere near dark enough.

S1 had a direction, but was plague with bad writing and underwhelming character, it just went with the flow.

S2 was aimless, but had better action and pacing.

>and underwhelming character

Yep, we don't know shit about most of the characters, most of them just teleported here to fight.
Also, we don't know shit about what the Calamity War was, outside of it being a clusterfuck of mobile armor.

I cnat wait for Almiria/Ride COunter Attack

So are we getting a movie/OVA or something ?

So many things went nowhere or outright pointless.
What's the point of Tekkadan Earth Branch?
What's the point of Isurugi and Helmwige?
What's the point of Hush?
What's the point of Hitler-chan?

Oh, and there's also the Mobile Armor, which was the biggest offender.

>Gaelio's hemiplegia was caused by Macky's coup de grace back in S1 finale, the Alaya Vijnana type E surgical operation, by connecting him to Ein's brain+own Vijnana system, was the only thing that allowed him to stand up at all ever since
No wonder he always ended up hanging in that hangar. He probably couldn't stand up or walk anywhere too far away from the Kimaris ;_;

Asbolutely nothing.
It's probably the best Gundam series of this decade.

Mika didn't have the LAN like Gaelio.

Oh user, this is all Nagai's fault. Okada was, unironically, actually the voice of reason for this.

Pls, elaborate.

Generic mobile suit designs

not even close

>not being the flop
>lowest rated Gundam anime
>sales are already less than half of the first season
>Japs hated the ending

Whelp at least you guys still have Gunpla sales

>Okada was, unironically, actually the voice of reason for this.
>Kept that fucking faggot Gali alive due to her lady boner over the VA thus ruining everything
No. This is like saying Fukuda did nothing wrong and that it was his hack of a wife responsible when Cross Ange proved that GSD fall was also his responsible.

>Whelp at least you guys still have Gunpla sales
As if that isn't the only thing bandai cares about.

What? Cross Ange was amazing.

>>Japs hated the ending
japs have shit taste

Yeah no, ultimately Okada was only there to make the cake look good. Everything, the whole storyline, the characters, the lore, and series composition, were already established years before she joined the project.
Also there were just too many people involved for the scriptwriting. The cream didn't emulsify right, instead it just turned into a greasy, unedible mess.

Wouldn't the Ahab reactor mess with the signal? Those things don't turn off right?

Gali did just fine though.

They do turn off. It's just that CGS used the Barbatos as both a heating device and power generator, so they never turned it off. Moreover in space you need an ahab reactor to travel, so the Ariadne lines, which work regardless of an ahad reactor's influence, were used to communicate.
Now whether Gaelio could walk around freely because he was using a LAN signal based on Ariadne lines or because they turn off the Ahab Reactor on the Ariahnrod ships for small distances, is another matter entirely.
Doesn't really matter though, since Gaelio could do it, it is only reasonable to assume so could Mika.

This is one terrible attempt at genderbending. Art isn't bad though.

It sounds like the production as somewhat tortured.

>Shitting on Cross Ange the best mecha of the decade.

Gee whiz you must be some special breed of faggot.

The ending was sour because they wrote themselves into a corner and Shakespeare ended perfectly good characters they didn't know what to do with. Came off as extremely lazy.

Bandai toy division yes, Bandai Visual though is probably pissed.

>shakespeare ended
I know you don't mean that as a compliment but putting Shakespeare and IBO in a single sentence only comes off as undeserved praise.

>Shakespeare
>Good

...

this

How would you fix IBO Sup Forums?
I think we can all agree that the setting, mech design and premise were pretty good, but if by some chance you could get the chance to read through the dtory and change it how you see fit, what would you have done differently?
