Is Kyoukai no Kanata a well written show?

Is Kyoukai no Kanata a well written show?

No. Fun characters though.

Its entertaining, but nothing special

Yes, up to about 2 minutes before the end.

For an anime, that is.

It's utter shit.

It's alright.

The movie though was utter shit and turned a mediocre series into a downright bad one.

/thread

no

No, the writing is easily the worst part.

Sup Forums hates everything.

I'd say it was better than I expected it to be.

The characters are kind of well-written, the story is not.

>youmu are created from strong feelings
>youmu turn to stones when they are killed
>Mirai's clan is suspected to have youmu powers
>the KnK can create empty youmu vessels like the puppet Aki that Mirai created
>Mirai dies and drops the ring
>Aki has KnK inside of him
>Aki accidentally recreates the moment he met Mirai while reminiscing about her and was overwhelmed by nostalgia
>puppet Mirai is created and the ring disappears
>new Mirai is Mirai Mirai
what's so bad about it?

Plot didn't hold my hand enough.

Of course it is. Kyoto Animation is well-known for their quality writing.

Everything was fine till the asspull ending

...

>what's so bad about it?
It half-heartedly undoes the emotional impact of her dying in the first place. Regardless of whether or not it can be explained post-hoc in terms that make sense within the story, it's not something that's predictable beforehand, so it comes across as an asspull.

Finished it the other day, last 2 episodes ruined the show. Really disappointing given how it was actually pretty good up until then.

It gave us the best cakes and milfs of any anime ever.

I only watched the first episode so maybe it gets better but all I remember is that instead of using that time to establish characters or setting it went into the MC's fetish of glasses

Wait what?

Faulty memory, then.

Mirai. Heroine with glasses is killing the show.

you mean accurate memory

That isn't the first episode and it didn't spend all its time talking about his fetish.

Imagine actually getting triggered this hard by glasses.

why? do you have autism?

i'm not a literature major, i'm not a professional critic.
i liked the story.

Is the movie worth watching? I didn't really like the show since Miria (?) was such a social media whore.
It's probably something like how Tamako Love Story was, right?

Kako-hen is utter shit.
Mirai-hen is watchable.

Amazing how you never fail to show up in any KnK thread merely to whine about the glasses. Did something traumatic happen that you'd like to share?

It's a love story with action.

>Kako-hen
What do you expect? It's literally a summary. Those are never good.

the movie is fucking trash

He has PTSD from being raped by glasses

first movie is a recap with a twist at the end compared to the anime
second movie takes place after said twist and has new content. it's gonna give you the feels, though some may argue for cheap reasons

It was straight up trash and only KyoAni fanboys would think otherwise.

Not really but it's still really enjoyable. Fun characters and top tier visuals. I love supernatural mystery as a theme.
The character designs though are pure fucking sex.

Elaborate.

If you really enjoyed the TV series then I say it's worth it, but its still a step down writing wise from the TV series. It does have a few good moments though.

Genuinely thought it was a lot better than I expected it to be.
