You're not preserving art, here. You're making a screenshot of a video. You're posting it on an image board where it will be viewed for a few seconds by some people and then never seen again. Maybe if you're taking a screenshot to serve as a desktop background then the huge increase in file size might be worth the tiny increase in quality.

I usually save bmp and jpg later trough photoshop with max settings.

PNGs are reserved for detailed still artwork (such as pixiv art) and anything that has a large amount of text (such as a screenshot of this thread).

There are some artifacts that can be seen when zooming up 2x or so, but I still don't think that PNG is worth the 5x or so amount of storage they take up in comparison to JPG.
