Are they gonna ruin it?

are they gonna ruin it?

yes

Yes.
When a story is finished it should stay finished.

yeah but i'm still excited

No. You can always ignore it.

Anime is already ruined

Probably.

I never could decide if there was

1) Actual deep symbolism I didn't get
2) Shallow symbolism about puberty and maturing
3)There was no message, just things happening and looking cool.

yes

>Supreme logo on guitar

nia wut

>announced more than 1 year ago
>still not even a fucking key visual
I already lost interest.

Kind of all three. FLCL managed to do a hell of a lot in just 6 episodes. At its core it was about growing up. There were a lot of themes dealing with this, like role reversal between parent and child, trying to grow up too fast, and what maturity really means.

What's there to ruin?

is it going to be a retell with more stuff or its more like a sequel?

Way to assume everyone knows what you're talking about.

From some article somewhere.

>In the new season of FLCL, many years have passed since Naota and Haruhara Haruko shared their adventure together. Meanwhile, the war between the two entities known as Medical Mechanica and Fraternity rages across the galaxy. Enter Hidomi, a young teenaged girl who believes there is nothing amazing to expect from her average life, until one day when a new teacher named Haruko arrives at her school. Soon enough, Medical Mechanica is attacking her town and Hidomi discovers a secret within her that could save everyone, a secret that only Haruko can unlock.

>But why did Haruko return to Earth? What happened to her Rickenbacker 4001 she left with Naota? And where did the human-type robot ‘Canti’ go?

At first I was suspicious but I warmed up to the idea when I learned the pillows were doing the soundtrack

99.9999999999999999999999999999999%

Probability of fucking it up

sequel with 2 seasons

...

It could be good you insanely negative sons of bitches

Almost certainly.

You can't blame them when the generation growing up watching it now has the wallet to pay for merchandise.

>its just a shitty new throwback, its nothing like i remember
>it's just garbage, what the fuck is this?
>im not spending my money on this shit.

ur still just a kid, naota

Nips are worse than Jews. They'll make a dime off anything possible.

They're well aware of the potential risk to ruin the original but they still wanted to bring it back for TWO seasons. I'll at least give it a shot.

This will be the Eureka Seven Astral Ocean of our time.

Im not looking forward to it. Call me a nostalgia fag, but i dont see how they can possibly keep the same feel of the original.

FLCL is like a strange mixture of a music video and a fever dream.
I fear any sequel they make will be plagued with exposition, plot, and logic.
Either that or they will go balls to the wall and be weird for the sake of being weird, thus coming off as try hard and LOLSORANDUMB.

FLCL was a product of its time. You will never get anything like it again.
unless you lock studio gainax in a room with anno and force them to make Evangelion again.

I watched it the other day, and you know what I wanted when it ended?

>exposition, plot, and logic

some things were stupid, but there was cool shit too

>even acknowledging that this sequel exists
Ain't watching it. Don't care.

Diebuster was fine.

>majority of Sup Forums will ignore it
>i.e no shitposters
What a blessing from God.

Enjoy your Code Geass S3

The Pillows are what put it all together and they can't make a decent album to save their career these days. Soundtrack-wise there's no hope for the second season.

Sweet Jesus. Please don't; I can't handle another AO. I'll die. I still haven't recovered from AO.

Stroll and Roll isn't that bad. It's not on the level of the original FLCL stuff but it's better than the totally forgettable stuff they were doing for a while

You can bet your ass it's going to get shitposted to oblivion here.

The only thing I care about in FLCL is the animation and the music.

As long as that's good, then I'll like it. I could care less about the story.

As long as its completely seperated from the last story line then im happy. Then the original will be able to stand on its own.

is it wierd that I liked the interactions of the characters more than anything?

I completely forgot they were doing a S2.

Looks like IG forgot too since they haven't even started on it yet.

They've put out a new album called Nook in the Brain. Haven't listened to it yet tho. I imagine they'll reuse Ride on Shooting Star, tho I wish they could just come up with a new equally bad ass song for the s2 outro but whatever.

Any hope for FLCL 2 being good flew out the window when they decided not to take the Diebuster approach. Dead on arrival.

FLCL had exposition, plot, and logic. A lot of people just don't see it because they can't successfully interpret a story that's not told in a traditional manner.

And FLCL 2 has already been confirmed to not be like Diebuster, what's your point?

I would describe it as 1# and 3#

There is hope if it has The Pillows in it.

I hope not, it's my favorite anime of all time, and damn close to my favorite piece of media as well.

Recapturing the pure magic of the original is going to be impossible, full stop; But if it's anywhere within the ballpark I think it'll be worth a watch.
I'm probably not as pessimistic as I should be, so hopefully the potential broken heart won't kill me.

I always loved Canti

All the character designs are so fucking good, holy shit.

Unironically one of my favorite parts of this series is how you/Takkun don't need to care or understand what the fuck is going on in the background with Medical Machina it really focused on the lives of the main characters

People talking about STEEL/Original Angels is one of my least favorite things to discuss in Evangelion instead of the characters. I feel like they just have this thing but intentionally don't do anything with it, and I really like that

Canti a best

It was a coming of age story. Naota came of age. A second season is as fucking stupid as a second Highlander movie.

>Televi-kun!

It's literally the plot to The Force Awakens.

I liked how Kamon turned out to be one of the more mature adults.

He did kinda trust his son knowning he was a responsible boy

A responsible irresponsible action.

Also I was looking at the wiki to check something about him and what the fuck
>In the manga, Naota kills Kamon because he believes Kamon and Haruko are sleeping together.

Does she have purple hair, by any chance?

They're going to ruin the sequel, yeah, but the original will remain god tier.

>>majority of Sup Forums will ignore it
you fucking wish

Ghostbusters 2016: the anime

Network tries to cash-in on nostalgia, but tries to modernize it by making the main character(s) as women yet completely forgetting what made the original unique.

I'd bet money that any negative criticism is blamed on Sup Forums when the negative reviews come pouring in

>Implying IG gives a shit about PC gender representation shit

cute girls sell, that's it

I liked AO more than the original.

Yes
It can't be helped, they are desperately trying to stay alive.
Gainax_tomato.mp4

The only chance they had was if they truly didn't give a fuck but instead they are scared hungry and alone.
SmugAkagi.jiff

They should have doubled down and gone gainax^2 on an original series instead of trying to relive past glories

>implying cartoon network knows how to manage 2nd seasons of great shows

Did you already see what happened to Big-O when they got involved? Cartoon Network only makes any IP worse once they get involved

>implying the new Samurai Jack isn't anime of the year

It has nothing to do with Cartoon Network, and everything to do with the crew working on the project.

It was SEELE you dumb faggot.

>It has nothing to do with Cartoon Network, and everything to do with the crew working on the project.

And literally no one who worked on the original is involved except The Pillows. it's going to be shit with ham-fisted political crap too, and you know it

All we know is the director, production manager, and supposed scriptwriter so far, so I don't know how you can claim this.

Plus, Kazuya Tsurumaki is the confirmed production manager, so you're already categorically wrong.

samurai jack is overrated. It's mediocre at best and always has been

I agree it's overrated, but that doesn't mean it's not good. I'd put it way above mediocre if only for the art direction.

So it's going to be an FLCL/Escaflowne crossover?

it's going to be a normie memefest that even Daily Show would find lame

Anime is already ruined, but I am still excited for it.

"Don't trust/fall in love with sluts" the anime.

It really was just an animation experiment done by Gainax.

If they use any other music other than Pillows for the soundtrack, then yes.

Of course they will

>Releasing late 2017
Where is the fucking PV dammit?

I'm looking forward to it
and to The Pillows

At least AO had a great OST if anything

I just hope we get some deceny ost and crazy animation sequences like Haruko vs Eyebrows shooting, or Canti ascending to the heavens like an angel.

It's fucking 6 episodes long, if the animation doesn't set a new bar for TV anime it'll be a letdown.

A little bit of all three, but mostly 1 and 3

...

>2) Shallow symbolism about puberty and maturing
It's this but visual metaphors are better than the show just straight up spelling it out for you.

THIS.
I miss old IG.
I hope they use Okiura this time.

Ruin what? They will probably make a mediocre copy of a fun show.

Gonna? They already did.
