Hidamari is from back when these stories were original ideas which did their own thing, rather than blatantly copying from each other in hopes of chasing a specific audience. It doesn't satirize anything. It's just daily life gags of a group going to school and living on their own.

I used to hope that they'd continue Hidamari, but now I hope things stay as they are. Hisui was perfect as Yoshinoya and I can't imagine anyone replacing her.
Plus I think that in general the Sae Hiro graduation arc is a nice place to end the anime.
