We need a revolution. Fuck nazis, hail to proletarian Red Hoods!

Weirdest scooby do ever

Why are animations like Jin-Roh so unpopular, Sup Forums?

Also I realize I should've picked a better OP pic

Normalfags ruin it.

Bait

what did you mean by this

Normalfags haven't seen Jin-Roh. They only watch Miyazaki movies and think shit like Akira is underground, they wouldn't have even heard of it.

Animation and art were all top tier but I thought the story was kinda dumb after the sister was introduced

it kinda seems that way, for me it felt like I was missing something on the movie.

But the movie was simple on what it was trying to convey if you think about it, the idea of a duality of moral values, no pure good, no pure evil

the girl tried to be the wolf in the story

but in the end she died as the victim of the actual wolf

where she tried to fool the victim, the victim was fooling her the whole time

it was nice noticing what the movie was doing, the ending can seem quite simplistic, but it was all about "what can never be"

their love could never be allowed
the red riding hood can never be the wolf
and the wolf can never be the victim

kinda

it's what i got from it at least

would have wished they went deeper into the factions, what each fought for but i heard there were manga that talked about it, still though

Great in nearly all departments - Music, animation, writing, sound design. I can understand if some people don't like the pace of the movie though

ADHD generation will hate this movie

Complete waste of time honestly, that ending was a 100% fuck you in the face like, really what was the point of the whole movie? Everything was going so well to the obvious conclusion but nope, pointless and wouldn't reccomend it to anybody.

Damn that armor is sexy

he saved the girl from being a wolf to dying as a victim, red riding hood, my dude

thats what the ending was about

one of, if not my all time, favorite animated movies, OP. Loved the animation, design, writing, story, everything. The ending massacre made the build up completely worth it, and pay off perfectly. It's a shame it's so unpopular because it's such a slow moving film. I'm actually making a movie like this, which will no doubt be unpopular because it's slow moving and psychological also. Maybe if I make the main characters lolis it will catch wind.

You have good taste my dude.

>it will catch wind

It won't

Just watched it like 1 hour ago and it is pretty good. As other anons pointed in this thread it is nicely animated, it has good music and other similar stuff but its pace is kinda slow but it ain't too bad. Might need to re-watch it to fully understand the story, though.

the dub is actually better

Definitely in my top 10, almost certainly the best movie I've ever seen.
Not a lot to talk about that hasn't been said, and there are no controversial opinions to shitpost.

The show is good but the art design in covers or shit like that is atrocious

The german dub is the greatest though.

I agree I should have picked this as OP post

the OST gives me the cummies

"The Top" is fucking incredible.

Best use of rotoscope in anime

There was no rotoscoping in jin roh according to the creators

It was definitely meant to be rewatched

When you see one of the dudes from the brigade asking Hinmei if there was a woman for example

They kept trying to get him to talk, and the whole thing is foreshadowed really nicely

how in the fuck did they achieve that level of detail without rotoscoping?

Better than the first Ghost in the Shell movie, in my opinion.

Shh, they'll attempt to remake it as a live version if you mention that

That scene was pretty spooky when I saw it on tv in the early 2000s latenight

I didn't get it
too deep for me

ayo hol'up

so in the red riding hood story the girl starts with a metal attire

was that suppose to reference Kuse as the red riding hood at first?

you rang?

Yeah

At least, Kuze was the one being played but

There's that crazy scene where the girl is running through the MC and she's eaten by wolves

Some crazy shit, but I think it was foreshadow of the last scene

So it keeps swapping all the time between what position each character was in throughout

And at the same time it didn't, only the illusion of change, who was the wolf and who wasn't was clear even if the movie fooled at times it wasn't

>those cheekbones

I.. I want to DRAW him.. I have to draw this beautiful man.

The Koreans are already working on it.

animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-04-12/korean-live-action-jin-roh-film-aims-to-cast-actress-han-hyo-joo/.114697

normal fags don't like it

for them its too slow
and monotnous

Last time a gook raped some of my shit was with Sakura Wars

Hopefully I'll never hear from this again. I'm too old to see my shit getting raped by gooks constantly

I think normalfags don't like it, because it defines what a soldier at war is. A trained monster that hunts the opposition with no mercy for the sake of peace. It takes the kill or be killed and expands it, to kill or be conquered, even if just ideologically.

You are right.

To make Jin Roh more normie friendly, you'd have to make the gray, less gray by making it easier to understand

Also maybe add some nudity

Just take from Game of Thrones a little bit, it would lose a lot from what it has but its the sacrifice to make for the normie appeal

One of my favorite animated movies and one of the few that was able to actually catch me off guard with its twist

Jin Rou is quality.

I didn't even know people disliked it...

By having a team of animators who are skilled at realistic motion.

I don't know. I think adding any kind of excitement would take away from it. Even after rewatching it a bunch of times, I'm still not sure if his decision to not shoot the first girl was planned or not, and depending on that, what percentage of acting, or pushing forth true emotions with ulterior motives his actions and moods with the girl are.

At the end though, he shoots her almost nonchalantly, as it it was a reflex. But again, did he have that in him from the beginning, or did he gain that though the movie?

I feel like he was meant to shoot the first girl and didn't, and then they just worked with it and made it into something that would be beneficial for them. It's been awhile though, now I have to rewatch because I fucking love this movie.

It's also been a while for me, but I could have sworn you learn throughout the movie he's actually not a regular of that mech brigade but a special ops sent in to find a mole working with the bombers. I just inferred that that was possibly his way of kicking things off, if he already was that soldier, to falsely? show that humanity to the other members of the brigade to entrap the mole via rumors.

Go back to wherever the fuck you came from.

Idk if it was consciously, but to make Kuse a guy the viewer can sympathize with, we need to connect with him somehow

That shock he had when the girl pulled pin off the satchel would strongly connect with how the viewer would react

Like, why? What goes on that would make you this determined to your cause?

It kinda made me more intrigued as to what each section was fighting for more specifically than what was laid out

But anyway

After you have this first connection is where we are trapped to sympathize and root for him I think, sort of how we root for the red hood in the her story

i came from futaba channel, pls let go of whatever i did wrong

No. Fuck off.

Any nip is welcome on Sup Forums. Fuck off shitposter.

His broken English doesn't even look like nip English, and his analysis of the movie was fucking shit. He's also from futaba and not 2ch. He can fuck off.

>futaba and not 2ch

You barely know the difference between both. It's so obvious it hurts. Tell me, do you know what pot is in this context? No? Fuck right off this thread and never speak about Japanese things again, you subhuman.

Except I know moon and lurk 2ch. Stop blindly sucking nip dick, it makes you look like a tryhard third worlder from /jp/.

So you're saying it's ok to be from reddit? That's the closest to equivalent to 2ch. It's more populated than futaba, more normie friendly, and has threads/generals equivalent to subreddits with the only difference being 0 moderation. Likewise, futaba is closer to Sup Forums, though less popular and less moderated. You barely know this, quite honestly you should fuck off. You're more cancerous than anything on Sup Forums right now.

>2ch is Reddit
This meme is the fastest way to out yourself as a retard who actually doesn't know what he's talking about.

>2ch is Reddit
>normie
You need to kill yourself immediately.

Its my favorite oshii anime movie, narrowly beating out patlabor 1, but I liked Red Spectacles more.

調子に乗らせるとかツラじゃないのだが
壺がそれほどに好きならそこにすっこんでおけばいいやんけ
ニワカのカスが

You fell for his bluff. He;s just shitposting. Just report and ignore.

Why is Red Spectacles so underrated?

お前こそ居場所へ帰ればいいんじゃない?そもそもどうしてここに来たんだ?

I think very few people not from Japan (or maybe not from asia) watch japanese live action films, with some exceptions of course (kurosawa, godzilla)

I'm about to watch Red Spectacles because of this thread. I'm TRYING, OKAY?

test

Enjoy. It's a little weird to say the least. Feels like an above average student film. Don't bother with the sequel.

I'll chalk this up to a lack of understanding of what actually goes on at Reddit.

it was great an all, i liked it, but i just thought there would be more action than those 2 webm;s

He stated the main differences you can see here though. There's nothing wrong lurking 2ch, but just like people here tell reddit fags to fuck off, futaba tells 2ch fags to fuck off whenever they're spotted.
If you use 2ch memes there, they'll tell you to fuck off just like you did here.

Sorry champ, you don't get to have an opinion when you use the term "normie". Your opinion is worth less than dirt.

It is my all time favorite anime movie.
I like it even more than Angel's egg and GITS.

I even have the live action movies Oshii made on the same universe... if i where a jap i would probably have the audio dramas too.

Love everything about it, story, art, music, pacing. Everything.

Here you go friend. This is a picture futaba dudes use whenever they spot fags from 2ch to fuck off back there. I feel it's appropriate to post it here.

Next time if you want to look cool, just say you're from may or futaba just to be on the safe side even if you don't. Now post about Jinroh and stop shitposting.

You have good taste.

Sorry user, you already outed yourself with your use of the word normie. No use in pretending not to be a faggot that needs to go back.

So what can you say about Red Spectacles? Is it on the same vein as Jin Roh? Like, more of a thriller, less of an action movie?

Over-rated.

It has less budget and it shows... it keeps the setting and makes for an interesting noir movie.

You could say it's on the same vein in the sense that is still about internal affairs trying to eradicate the panzer corps. At the moment of the red spectacles they have essentially wiped them out.

I think i might watch it again soon... It's been years since i last watched it.

>Its my favorite oshii anime movie
Stop this. Okiura directed Jin Roh, not Oshii.

It was written by Oshii so you might as well say it was his. Don't people say The Empire Strikes Back is Lucas'? I think it's kinda the same

I love how this scene was directed so much. Killing the guy who was climbing at the ladders after showing the other dudes was just masterful and a great way to flow through the end.

does it have operators operating?

You can totally tell it's his script, his narrative pacing is really unmistakable... you can always tell, even on the Patlabor movies. His movies are really a world apart from the rest of the franchise.

Furthermore, without denying Okiura's merit... the presence of Kawai score really gives away that it's Oshii's team.

Okiura does deserve some credit though because he didn't deviate from Oshii aesthetic, he got it so right that even Oshii fans can't tell the difference.

I get why people say it, but saying your favourite Oshii film is the one he didn't direct seems more than a little insulting to the man and completely discredits Okiura for his work on the film.

Well, it helps that Okiura did character designs and animation supervision for GITS so in Jin-Roh he just added directing to his plate on top the previous responsibilities.

>they're just a rumor

You know your team is competent when you're nothing but a rumor among your peers
