Economy is circular and requires cashflow between producers and consumers. The most likely outcome is that taxes will be increased eventually on producers to give free money to the consumers, which isn't an economy it's closer to communism.

I'm surprised there isn't more effort put into replacing the cooks with machines. The biggest problem with fast food service is the lack of quality control and consistency. I've gotten pretty good fast food before, but I've also gotten orders horribly wrong and lazily thrown together, so long as there were ingredients in a wrapper it was good enough for them. It's not even based on what company or what location, it varies wildly with whoever is cooking at the time.
Automation is the best quality control you can have, and it addresses people's biggest complaint about fast food. If a machine does it right once, it can do it a thousand times.

Automation should be able to compete against a free market of labor. If minimum wage was lower and/or eliminated then its up to the establishment what makes sense for their bottom line. Now with minimum wage rising across the US in liberal strongholds these establishments are simply making the logical choice for themselves to keep costs down so that they don't have to raise consumer prices.

I just don't understand it though, you get so little for your money even when they have everything designed for burger mass production. I could pay the same amount and get a better deal at a half decent restaurant. Like I seriously don't understand it, the patties are so thin and small and the rest is just bread and potato, I could buy pounds of real meat for that price. food is so expensive now in canada all i do is buy cans of sardines and salmon in bulk, couple cuts of meat and other fish (have a relative who works in fish sales so get good deals sometimes and comp'd), and i buy tons of steel cut oats & almond milk en masse. this is all i eat except for vegetables which are my largest expense, fast food and restaurant dining are nuts here. can be $25 for a fkin burger dinner at an average place, which is the pay for something like an electrical engineering intern (me) for an hour and a couple minutes. no thx
