To be honest both Wasuyu and Yuyuyu have sort of a lack-luster ending, and the most well-written part of the franchise is not written by him.

Same way Mashima can go from something good, like Ravemaster, to Fairy Tail, and Akamatsu can go from Negima to UQ Holder. It doesn't make any sense, but hack authors can sometimes just happen to catch that lightning in a bottle once.

He has other people working on the series with him who pull their own weight. You can see it especially in the WaSuYu adaptation cause there's a lot of changes and improvements for the better that are (probably) not all his ideas.

It's still pretty heartbreaking to see how reserved Sonoko is in Episode 8 and 10 compared to how fucking off-the-walls she is in WaSuYu. She went through some shit during the two years between YuYuYu and WaSuYu. Even in Sonoko After and the 2nd VN she seems a lot more jaded, though S2 may show us something different.

It's interesting to compare Tougou's disposition compared to Sumi's as well. YuYuYu has always had great rewatch value and WaSuYu only adds to that.

I realized what we were missing. YuYuYu Sonoko doesn't have her wacky cat pillows.

It can't be helped. The Tougou of ep 8 and 10 is not the Wasshi Sonoko knew, they are just stranger at this point. Sonoko also knows Tougou now has other people who she cares about and she couldn't just claim back the friendship they used to have.

It was just like YuYuYu. I felt my heart being healed for most of the episode, just for them to break it into pieces in the end.

You don't exactly go through what Sonoko did and come out unscathed, after all. It's kind of a miracle she's as bubbly as she still is, if somewhat subdued compared to how she is in WaSuYu.

It's not like she has nothing to do to pass time. She still managed to stalk Tougou and created her own lesbian simulator after all.

I like Washi more than Togo. I know they're the same person but Washi is better.

I like Tougou more, but Washio is a close second.

Same. Tougou is too invested in Yuuna and give out too much of the "Ara ara" aura which we have an abundant of characters exuding already. Meanwhile Wasshi's seriousness and self-righteous ness made her sort of silly like Bakaba.

I hope ss2 Tougou is more Wasshi than Tougou.

Akamatsu a weird case. The guy so desperately wants to do action shounen, but when left to his own devices, we get UQ holder. He's so much better at comedy than pure shounen. Freeing that man from his editors was a mistake.

Too bad we didn't get a whole series of OVAs like the Yue ones. Maybe the UQ Holder anime will revitalize some Negima interest.

Speaking of anime, when is the second half of S2 supposed to come out again for this? Thought I heard something like October.

I dropped YuYuYu at air nearly halfway through because it seemed boring and kind of regretted it when I heard there was suffering.

Lately, I've been seeing and hearing interesting things about it. Found out the music is done by the same guy who did Nier:Automata. That was the last straw; picked back up.
