Don't try to, just enjoy the art and the arc's individual stories for what they are.

Did anyone else think the ending came on too fast? It felt very abrupt, I was hoping for one more arc.

you only yourself to blame

I followed some of it, but I couldn't really put it all together, the lack of dialogue didn't help me either.
Yeah, I loved the art, possibly the best I've seen since Berserk.

he found the net terminal genes and stopped the growth of the city

Was it in the sphere or something?

yes, it formed into the child you see Killy escorting at the end

Its a story about going up for the thing.

That's it.

What happened to Cibo? Her memories got overwritten or something, but was she still alive? Also did Killy die? That headshot looked pretty painful.

Nihei cannot end stories well.

Biomega is the best story Nihei has done.

What's this and why does look edgy?

Early work of the guy behind Knights of Sidonia.

>Also did Killy die? That headshot looked pretty painful.
he's fine in the next few pages user, also did you not read blame2?

very few manga end well

Quiet emo guy tries to find human to save human race. That's it.

edgy bump

What the fuck? What Blame2? Do you mean those unrelated short stories with a lot of unnecessary nudity?

it's a one-shot

>unrelated short stories
Blame Gakuen is cannon, you fucking pleb

>I followed some of it, but I couldn't really put it all together
Here.

It's a little bit imperfect near the end, but I'm going to write a revised version sooner-or-later.

I'll dump Blame 2, for funsies, and for those who haven't ever heard of/seen it.

If you can't decipher the bottom panel here: main character in the middle, standing on a warped-ish platform. I couldn't figure it out for the longest time, so I imagine that others can't/couldn't, either.

End scene.

There's also Blame: Netsphere Engineer, a one-chapter gaiden-esque epilogue; and NOiSE, the prequel manga in which the Netsphere disaster takes place. Not gonna dump either of them, because they are far too long - just letting you know that they exist, if you didn't know. Also keep in mind: the translation for Netsphere Engineer (NSE) sucks and makes a few bizarre, but sweeping, contradictions. If you can ignore those, it's an enjoyable piece.

Dont bother. There's nothing deep to it. Its just a picture book for edgy manchildren

The only edgy thing in Blame! is the architecture.

Shit, I like it even more now.
Thanks for the dump, the only version I could find was mangahere but it had shitty translation and image artifacts.
I wouldn't say that, I do think the author certainly could've included a few more explanations though, it's one thing to spoonfeed your audience and it's the other to make them search every pixel for hidden plot clues.

i enjoyed it more in the beginning, when it was unconstrained by story and that wandering ambiguous possibility. it was just a visual pleasure, it could mean anything, the nature of the mega structure meant he could come upon any situation nihei wanted on a whim. your not waiting for the next plot twist to be typed out, your just watching, purely in it for the ride.

I mostly agree. What really left me an impression to me other than the visuals of course was the absurd space/time scale, I was left spechless in some points, like the elevator part.

what did they do in there that whole time..

ill admit the plot comes together little past half way.
also sanakin a cute

Saw someone saying CGI was used for drawing Blame!, is it true/how much was it used? Just curious, I love this manga regardless.

Is there an official English release of Blame!? The version I read was pretty low resolution and seeing as the story was mostly told through imagery...

That was me, and I don't really think it's true. Was just using it as a vehicle to piss off people in that thread. In fact, I'm fairly certain I actually *said* that I was doing that, in the thread.

fun fact: Q Hayashida was nihei's assistant

No, that's a baseless rumor. Q. Hayashida never worked as an assistant, she even says so in an interview,

A new official release is in the middle of being released. But it's got a lot of problems: mainly, that a lot of the art has been redrawn across all volumes. It's not always as noticeable as THE BOX, but it's there - shit like Killy's hair being lengthened, or changes in shading. This is the noticed changelog from just chapter 1 (of like 70, or whatever).

2B?

Hayashida: I still don’t know how to find the right size and place for them. I think the talented artists out there know some sort of trick to it, but I feel like I’ll never figure it out till the day I die, unless someone comes out and tells me.

–I’ll bet there’s a real difference in how people with experience working as assistants approach things and how people without that experience approach things.

Hayashida: True. It seems like most people have done some time as an assistant somewhere.

da bar?

Are you talking about the master edition? I was looking forward to buying it.

Shame it's not a hard copy though. I'm from Poland and our version is but I still prefer the English one

Yep, exactly what I was referencing.

>Are you talking about the master edition?
Yes. There's also a few issues with the translations, now that you've had me start to recall these things. In some insane, disassociated decision-making process, they came to rename our dear protagonist "Kyrii". And the first argument that comes to mind in their defense would be that it's the 'proper' transliteration of the Japanese name - if it weren't for the fact that the true English name, "Killy", is WRITTEN ON THE JAPANESE VERSIONS.

I bought the raw ones when they came out 2 years ago, so I know what I'm talking about.

Neat, I've somehow never read this before. I'm glad to see the humans shitting on the silicon creatures for once.

Sidonia babbies
Netflix was a mistake.

While I'll agree with your sentiment, personally, I would write it as
>Netflix babbies
>Sidonia was a mistake.

Did Shibo fucked Sanakan, or was it the other way around?
What it rape?

it was consensual data merge

>Shibo
no

l-lewd

The human that he was looking for all along

now Killy has his own personal loli onahole
some payback for his hardship

Why would you pretend to be retarded?

I was making a point about 3D and computer generation in general and passingly mentioned Nihei (with the *intention* of meaning his current works), and a bunch of people blew up on me for it. If they wanted to be an effect, I should do them the courtesy of being the cause.

inevitably

And this is why I'll never bother buying manga again in my life. It was Shibo in the Blame manga I got and I'm way too used to that name. I'm also certain it's more accurate.

>I'm also certain it's more accurate.
It's accurate in the same way that "Kiri'i" is accurate. Mangaka write names in the English alphabet for a reason; Japanese doesn't have enough support for such things. The Japanese transliteration of the English word "lock" is three character syllables. ロ、ッ、ク.

Oh I thought it was written in hiraganas.
Well damn.

It's written in katakana, but my point was that you can't just equivocate kana and English. Otherwise, you end up with "Domochefusukii", "Puseru", "Mensaabu" and so on.

There's something odd about that final form, but I just can't put my finger on it...

not enough "kyaaa", probably

Cibo's real final form is this.

I completely forgot about that chapter, thought you were making a joke, checked, and found out that that is actually Cibo. Why.

>Netflix was a mistake.

Dunno about that. They help finance the movie and the trailers look neat:

youtube.com/watch?v=_k75jXSruSs
youtube.com/watch?v=bGGN8n5rQJY

Inb4 muh framerate.

>They help finance the movie
That is the worst possible thing you could have said re: defending Netflix

fuck Netflix and fuck kikes

what is this from?

Sidonia BD booklet

Then don't watch it. Simple as that. No one's gonna take the original Blame away and there never was going to be a proper adaption anyway. Japan had all the time in the world to make a proper animu by themselves and they didn't, so it's not like "the true version" got cockblocked by the CGI movie.

I'm not mad about it but it's a little saddening for me.

i figured it out soon after, i'm an idiot. the real question is, what cibo time period is that image? it can't be her final form since she merged with sanakan, and also killy was done searching for net terminal genes

It's a joke crossover; don't think about it.

>it's not like "the true version" got cockblocked by the CGI movie
Correct. *Nihei* cockblocked the true version.

>I don't get it
You only got yourself to blame!

There is no way they could properly transfer old Nihei's style to a hand-drawn anime without dumping a ridiculous ammount of money and good staff on it.

It's a "story in another story" type fan service. Killy and Cibo went out for hundreds of years. There might be this kind of episode in it.

What about live action? HBO miniseries perhaps?

How much money was spent on Gantz:O? I'd be okay with something on that level.

Why were the weapon effects so nonexistent?

I thought they were the same as in the manga. The gore and the drugs are missing but that was to be expected. Blame! wouldn't have any problem like that.

Old Madhouse would've pulled it off.

only until the space arc, that one was trash

That was most of the manga
though I do agree that it was trash

i think they used one too much negation there, it should be "if killy really did exist then..."

You're probably right, but I shall have to find the raws to be certain. Anybody know an acceptable place to get them? The standard raw sites aren't working for me.
