Sure the CG is shit but that doesn't make the show bad overall. That's the one thing I hate about gamers where they think graphics is everything that makes a game when really you don't need good graphics to make a good game.

No, I don't think so. I seriously love KF's animation. It definetely looks cheap and it's limited, but animators made that cheapness work. Limitations force them to be creative and use unusual techniques. Animation also helped to create athmosphere of the show and it perfectly fits show's pacing. It's charming, has unique style and aesthetics. In other words, animators knew what they were doing/ For me, that matters more than mere looks.

The CG is good because it adds to the show. The art is cute. The actual animation is simplistic, which works well because the show is not action-focused. There are only a couple action scenes, which are admittedly wonky, but they are only a tiny fraction of what the entire show and not the main draw. The point is to make the characters endearing, and the animation accomplishes that without trying too hard to the point of being distracting.

Usually the crux of this debate is what constitutes "good" art or animation. Some people look at any visual medium and think "bad" if there aren't enough frames or pixels on the screen. This is usually because people equate "cost-effective" with "lazy", and as a result it must also be "bad". But simplistic art can be just as effective if done right, and the CG in Kemono Friends definitely has its own visual charm that most anime would die to have.

I think you're misunderstanding what people mean when they're calling it bad.
It's really just about aspects like polygon count, how well does the animation flow, how natural does it look, how detailed is everything, etc.

Everyone knows its charm and I think most people would agree that KF done in a higher quality style wouldn't really be KF, because the bad animation is part of the whole package that makes it so wonderful.

I cannot even finish Appleseed because of its generic plot.
Art is just the icing but, by the end, the bread is what makes a cake

Kemofure managed to make the characters adorable and that's pretty much all I want from anime. I can't call KF's CG bad because it does it's job perfectly.

Etotama had good animation. I didn't like the design choice though. Also didn't like the story.

I think people just conflate low budget with badness. When all that really means is more limitations. I agree with those other anons who say the staff did well with what they had. I think it looks pretty natural compared to a lot of other CG shows, and that's impressive.

People really should stop judging animtion from how detailed it looks. Detailed and fluent animation would work well in mecha, for example, but it wouldn't work as well in something like KF. It just doesn't need that much details and fluency.

They discover the source of the toilet paper, Arai-san does the animal thing of unrolling it madly, Giraffe accuses her of being another type of noodle dish, Otter materializes wherever there is fun to be had, and Kaban just watches the scene unfold

Instead of kickstarting a 26-episode series, they should have just went with another OVA.

Some zoos have animal shows, but sometimes they cost extra. Anything where you can interact with the animals such as petting zoo, feed dispenser, etc. Make a checklist of friends and see if you can find your favorites. Really just enjoy yourself mate, zoos are comfy as hell.
