This episode was amazing

The problem with Idol Time was Lala all along. Not that Idol Time was new. Firing her would be justified.

That said, they really cannot rely on nostalgia pandering by bringing old characters every episode, they need to establish the new girls and even Danpri soon too.

She's the only shit girl main character in Aikatsu yet.

Yeah these first few eps have been Yui leaning on Lala, but hopefully Mirei's speech about getting more active in getting Pripara popular will give her a bit of impetus to do more things herself.
Yui trying the Pripara senpai role is a good sign.

It's an odd position. It's a reboot where they don't want to rely on the old characters too much, but then they have to get the old characters in because they're the most logical way to help the new characters grow.
Expect many more drop-in drop-out visits from the old crew.

The June event is a solo live contest right? Which means Yui's team isn't going to be complete by then. But they do need to get a move on and cement the new characters as the main characters, or this season is going to play as if Lala's still the MC.

This episode was pretty great, but it makes me wonder if they're gonna keep relying on old characters in the future.

Possibly, we're already getting Kuma next episode. I'm guessing Nino will come to PriPara in 6 or 7, and then one of the old characters will come back and mentor her for an episode, probably Sophie. Don't think we'll see Muri perform until near the end of the cour considering how little presence she has in the OP.

Naoto was a pretty cool guy, would accept as love interest of any Aikatsu.

I'm pretty sure Muri is gonna appear in the next cour given how she isn't in the OP at all.
