What the fuck just happened

What the fuck just happened

one two punch

and a papepipapo

Why didnt you protect this smile Sup Forums?

You watched am anime with a bad-ass soundtrack.

OST was pretty great. Especially near the end

Im on episode 12 and could care less if I finished it at this point, does it get any better soon or do I just have shit taste?

Oh nice a thread I'm on episode 6 and I agree the soundtrack is amazing.

What is this Lain ripoff?

>Lain ripoff?
lol 2/10 bait made me reply.

What? It looks so similar to Lain. I even thought it was Lain until I opened the thread.

Humanity as we know it has ended and Yoshii did nothing wrong.

Easily one of the top 5 endings in anime history.
The story made me emotionally attached to almost every major character, especially to everything that happened to Ichise, Ran, Shinji, Sakimura and Toyama
Honestly the ensemble cast was easily one of the best written in that decade, its a fucking travesty that Despera will never happen.

Your about to watch the best parts of the show, if you don't get hooked at the end at episode 15 then drop it.

Thanks will do

I'll always remember that scene. Ichise's expression is just heartbreaking and it's so well-animated (this and Takeshi Koike's fight scene in the first ep are probably the two highlights in the show as far as animation goes).

I also kinda wish Hamasaki kept on doing these types of monochrome shots in his more recent shows, he tends to go a bit overboard with the grain and filters.

>Takeshi Koike's fight scene in the first ep
Wait Koike did the boxing scene? Goddamn now I need to go back and rewatch that shit.
Also I wish they'd give Hamasaki better work then garbage like Terraformars.

Is this the new Lain?

Yeah, that was Koike. He got credited, and no other scene in the first episode looks like his work. The musculature on both characters is more exaggerated and the limbs are longer than they usually look, not to mention the block shading (when you can see it behind all the piercing white light and the grain).

TF is a bit unfortunate given the censoring and Liden being bad, but I appreciate how much he was able to do with that show with how limited his resources were. It could be pretty hype when things weren't struggling to stay on-model.

you're gonna carry that weight, user

>Ichise dies alone
>Doc just gives up living
>Onishi is killed by the own people he tried to protect
>Toyama and his"father"
>Onishi's secretary begs to be killed
>Ran "kills" her mind to avoid tehxnolization

This anime fucked me up pretty badly

Also forgot to mention that Hamasaki and Koike are probably good buddies, they're both Yoshiaki Kawajiri proteges and have worked together tons of times. Hamasaki did key animation for him on the last episode of the Trava OAV (no idea if pic related was his, but it's a hunch) which was released the same year as Texhnolyze, interestingly.

Hamasaki would go on to do "first key animation" for Koike on Redline a few years later as well.

this was not okay

It has the same character designer as Lain but its pretty different

No and you don't seem to understand

The connections to lain are deeper than that (Chiaki J. Konaka and Yasuyuki Ueda reprise their roles as writer and producer respectively, and I'm pretty sure the show was described as the 5 year anniversary of the lain staff minus Ryutaro Nakamura), but yeah, it doesn't feel quite as connected to ABe as any of his prior works. It's a project that's closer to Ueda and Hamasaki overall.

>Most waifu-tier character of the series
>tfw her eventual fate

A shame, he seemed a honest user

Ending of this anime fucked me up so bad. Had to watch a comedy after.

I loved this series.

Really uplifting. Especially the ending.

I'm really enjoying the amount of Texhnolyze threads lately. Anyway what even happened to the people outside of the city, were they killed as well?

>Anyway what even happened to the people outside of the city, were they killed as well?
Do you mean the Gabe villagers?

How did yoshii job so hard to ichise

She didn't have a smile in the first place.

I was more refering to the mask

Delete that

Rude

Best girl

She took off the mask and it was very painful.

For you.

I know right, guy is a crackshot with a sniper rifle but somehow misses some asshole rushing him straight-on from 15 feet away.

She occasionally got a little rape-y but Ichise never said 'no' so she's still good in my books. Also the most fashionable.

You're quite right.

Why did she fugg Ichise

She's a Texhnophile

Stop it, this show is for depression only.

Fine. You asked for this.

Much better. Now pass the absinthe.

>wake up
>see lthis
>wat do?

The answer is always to drink.

Despite all the bad shit that happened to ichise , at least he got to tap some fines.

Life well lived

The flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long.

This was the most depressing show I've seen and I quite liked it. Even though the second half was rushed a bit, final 6 episodes were great and the show overall is, too. Yoshii was a top tier villain.

...

Post the whole screenshot pls.
I need my monthly dose.

...

...

>posting this
>as though the show wasn't depressing enough
You motherfucker.

...

Kano never did anything wrong, he just wanted to save everyone

Fuck you

That's Yoshii though. His ultimate aim was to call a full-out war between Lux and the Class which would have meant Kano being killed which means no Shapes and the entire city not being murdered/going insane.

Lux didn't deserve a hero like him.

That shot was some of the uncanniest material in a generally uncanny series.

So what was the deal with the surface? Were they supposed to be all ghosts or what

Use as onahole.

This show is going with Spenger's work "decline of the west". Civilization was going to his end, and Yoshi was tring to give back fire

>and Yoshi was trying to give back fire

He wasn't trying to give back fire, he was trying to start a fire. Yoshi only cared for himself. He's no Prometheus.

should i even bother with this one ? i didn't like lain that much ( because it was pretentious as fuck and used a lot of weird shit instead of using a normal words ) but i fucking loved haibane renmei ( but only because off reki i actually didn't care about it that much until i saw the last episode )

If you can get past the parts without dialogue and if you like really bleak and depressing atmospheres, you'll like this.

one of the few real 10/10 kino anime
it will hit you in the feels a lot

Shit taste

You sound like a waifutard, so no.

why did you conclude that ?

I'm pretty sure you have just reached THE END OF THE RAGING ROAD

And you dont seem to understand~

>Found your toy
>To Doc
>From KO
Japanese fans took to deciphering the manipulated, hacked up Eng(r)ish that makes up Texhnolyze's written language. Never realized it was Onishi contacting Doc in episode 6.

Is that retarded rip better than KAAs?

Apart from the subtitles changing typesets around for the first six episodes or so (the guy said he wouldn't do a v2, unfortunately), yeah, I'd say so.

I just looked on nyaa and there's another, more recent 10bit release. I'll give it a download and see if it's better than kuchikirukia's.

Am I blind, or is the old R1 rip identical, if not better?
>10bit
What's the point for DVDs?

It might just be preference, but the R1s are a lot darker, with pic related being almost impossible to decipher due to the crushed blacks.

I have never cried so much at any ending

All I felt was rage and disgust at Kano, although Shinji's death got me to feel a bit sad.

What was so sad about it?
>MC spent over 50% of the episodes crying over his missing limb
>Ran was a Rei clone but without feelings
>Her death was unmoving. She basically killed herself and its hard to call it a death when she is 99% robot (think of a computer just shutting down)
Only real sad thing was MC dying last and all alone, just like how he started in episode one. But thats only because thats the one thing we can relate to with him, so 95% of that sadness just comes from us projecting.

>Ran was a Rei clone but without feelings
You didn't get Ran.

bit
>What's the point for DVDs?
High bit depth debanding.

>I'll give it a download and see if it's better than kuchikirukia's.
It's not. It has VOBSubs, and they dropped AQ to deal with the source noise, leaving the flat areas blurry with still some blocky noise movement.
x264 shouldn't be used as a denoiser.

>It has VOBSubs
Yeah, I didn't post my findings but yikes, ugly-ass vobsubs. Though I probably should've noticed based on the uploader's comments.

The low AQ also exacerbates the banding. It turns into melted wax.
