> Because it's literally your main biological purpose in life. Everything else is peripheral.
Hey, look, I've got an IQ over 80 and can choose my own goals and desires in life!
> When you reach your 40s, you start slowly losing your friends...
Who are MGTOW (some officiously)
> getting out of shape
Not a prerequisite for most of my hobbies, past-times, and jobs.
> you become old and decrepit with only your monthly salary
But hey, I get to spend it how I please.
> materialism and collapsing society to look forward to
And providing ever more for my desires.
> Then you'll probably become depressed and aimless and kill yourself.
I compare my life with some of my friends' who aren't MGTOW, and they're the ones depressed and aimless.
> If everyone thought like me
> But it's never gonna happen.
Then you admit it's a silly point to have brought up in the first place?
> Feminists say the same thing, and used this exact argument for no-fault divorce and the current legal system you hate.
What?
> But a lot of MGTOW is about playing into victim mentality to justify the whole thing
Sure, a lot of MGTOW were hurt. And sometimes, you need to be badly hurt to finally be willing to face reality. Besides, "If you put your hand in the meat-grinder, you might get hurt" is not "Meat-Grinders are oppressing us and must be destroyed".
> Will you feel the same way in 20 years?
What kind of answer do you expect here? If in 20 years, we reach the socio-economic collapse and alimony/child support are no longer state-enforced, you bet I'll keep an eye open for a wife.
> Also, if that's the case why would you need a movement or a "brand" to legitimize the whole thing?
I don't. It's just easier to spread the message (and attack us) this way. Vast majority of people who embraces MGTOW ideals never heard of the acronym. And that's alright.
