I enjoy seeing any anime sell well

There's more and more gradients in hair color nowadays.

Too bad you won't

Keep dreaming Sup Forumsermin.

I wish, but unfortunately it looks like that shit is going to sell really well

I'm hoping for a similar School Days "bad end"

I just hope it sells reasonably well and won't reach undeserved Oreimo levels in popularity. Anything related to Idolshit and Mobage should burn though except for Bahamut.

OP is smart

Won't flop and will destroy the anime scene for the rest of the year if it becomes as popular and profitable as Oreimo.

I think you're biased

I'd say Warau, but it already is, so Eromanga might be number 2.

Why does it matter? Why do you base your happiness on something completely out of your control? I don't get salesfags at all.

Because of the effects on the industry.

Think of it as a competition in which [your favourite anime] scores points in a big seasonal game like some kind of sports league. Or your personal media preferences (read: taste) get acknowledged by a larger social subgroup. There's also the fear that influential works have an undesired impact on future projects.

I wasn't planning to but I preordered just to piss you off.

I was actually expecting to like this show but after the 3rd episode I had to drop it.

It's like the unholy child of Oreimo and OniAi. It really annoys me the fact that it will be one of the best selling shows of the season.

oh wow I'm almost enjoying my anger

I want to see Little Witch Academia flop because I enjoy actually enjoy it. I'd hate to have to stop liking it because it keeps getting more popular.

Kys my man

Care to explain why?

Peter, it's time to get off the Internet

because popular shows suck (see naruto, one piece, etc.)

That's already not flopping, normalfag.

Those shows are entirely different beasts but I think I get your point.
Is this the simple logic on which anime hipsters operate to verify their media consumption?

Wanting things you like to succeed makes sense, I understand. But why expend effort with
>Boy, I hope Such'n'Such flops!
>Moar like Boku no Sales!
Is it fun? Because it seems like it'd just make both sides pretty bitter.

A show that's already finished by the studio has it's merit based on how popular it becomes?

stop feeding him (you)s

Any show that is "YOUNG BOY" gets "TRANSFERRED INTO AN ALTERNATE DIMENSION/TIME/REALITY/PLANE OF EXISTENCE"

More than fun I believe it's a basic human reaction to fortify the individuals point of view by discrediting his opponents opinion in this case through means of vague and abstract sales figures. That's the stuff which fuels wars and boards like Sup Forums.

GBF is outselling this 100 times and it feels SO good.

But why isn't it
>I hope [Series I Like] does better than [Series I Don't Like]
instead of
>I hope [Series I Don't Like] does poorly
It doesn't help you feel good about the series you like, it just annoys people who like the series you don't like.

Not this season but I can't explain how glad I am that this flopped. It was probably conceived in a meeting room where a production committee wanted to come up with their surefire next hit. It was designed to be a hit and it flopped because it was prepackaged garbage.

Kemono already destroyed the anime scene for the rest of the year, and this doesn't look like it will reach a fraction of Oreimo's popularity.

First notice that all popular shows are shit. If they were shit before they were popular, then they wouldn't have become popular in the first place. Therefore, the shows become shit AFTER they become popular.

Because seeing other people suffer makes me happy.

Shitty induction my friend. You have to actually watch it to see if they were good or not before.

Izetta was AOTS and also was better war anime than youjo shitki. In becore Sup Forums bawwwwwwwwwwwwwws

Maybe because it's just easier to criticize a work (i.e. calling it shit) than to formulate a comparison which might provoke a point of attack to your argument. Also, the 'annoy' part is important because it makes the attacker feel confirmed in his believes.

>In becore Sup Forums bawwwwwwwwwwwwwws
In English next time?

But wouldn't it be more satisfying to convince other people that the series you like is better by some metric? Is calling something shit and then feeling validated when it bothers other people really enough?

I don't want to see it flop because it makes normalfags like you very mad.

Pretty much the same reason I don't want to be Eromanga-sensei a financial success. Sure, every anime wants to appeal to a certain audience and production is expensive and risky but Eromanga-sensei feels so lazy in its directing and it tries so damn hard to be memeable that I don't like to see the Aniplex/A-1 cartel succeed with this poor excuse of a show which they will anyway because who doesn't want to fuck his little sister.

>But wouldn't it be more satisfying to convince other people that the series you like is better by some metric?
If you can muster up the effort sure, go ahead. That might improve a lot of threads in exchange for your sanity.

>Is calling something shit and then feeling validated when it bothers other people really enough?
You should try it sometimes.

>It was probably conceived in a meeting room where a production committee wanted to come up with their surefire next hit
That's how all Anime is made you fucking idiot. They're all commerical products made to sell.

>That's how all Anime is made you fucking idiot. They're all commerical products made to sell.
If this is true then there would be no point in making derivative battle harems that are destined to flop. Most shows exist to advertise a manga or LN.

Izetta was made solely to attempt to hit as many notes that signify a hit as possible. It is as far from auteurism as you can get.

I also want to see lwa fail but that just because I'm a bitter person who don't like it compare to the ova, and maybe it teach trigger to not waste time with pointless episodes and actually develop characters

japan love this kind of show, something like this will never die

>wanting Sup Forums to become more like containment boards like Sup Forums
salesfags can go and stay go

How do you even jump to this conclusion? I purposefully didn't valuate the Sup Forums statement with personal sentiments but prefer their opinions and worldviews to be as far away from Sup Forums as possible.
My point was trying to explain one of the aspects as to why fans of the same medium discredit each others preferences in order to push their own views. Doesn't matter, it's probably too meta anyways.
My pick on shows I want to see flop would be Boruto simply because I don't endorse shows who can maintain their popularity over many years and thus won't end.

LN volumes already saw a boost and reached a million sales. I'm still waiting for some decent merch to come out to buy.
