No, this is not about whatever happened with kazuma and megumin. I'm behind on konosuba and I'm a bit of a newfag to anime. I watched the anime series and personally thought it was a riot, and then found out there is a light novel which I want to dive into. However in one of those other threads I heard there was a WN (which I assume means web novel). Is that the same thing as a light novel? Or is it something different, and if so could somebody sauce me?
So this doesnt get flagged as a request thread or something like that, I would also like to use this thread to discuss the animation of konosuba. I have heard complaints that it was off form, but I've heard arguments that animation is not supposed to be on form because it is too restrictive. What is every bodies thoughts on that?? I'm still on the fence between the two arguments though I would hold that the off form animation style can be used for physical comedy more effectively.
A web novel is just what it sounds like - a novel published on the internet, not printed in books. Konosuba started as a WN and got popular enough for an actual publisher to pick it up and publish a printed version, the light novel. I think there are major differences between the WN and the LN versions though. The anime is based on the LN version.

What the fuck are you even doing?
Joshua Scott
Thanks user! Where can I find the web novel, in that case?? Is a simple google search all I need or will it be buried somewhere under thousands of other unrelated results??
Ayden Gutierrez
I only watched the anime so I can't really help you there, but I'm sure the anons in Konosuba threads have the links. I'm not sure if the WN version is translated or only available in japanese though. For the LN I'm pretty sure there's a translation project.
Adrian Lee
Yeah I have the translated LN bookmarked for later on. I hope the WN is translated, but if there is a project for the LN maybe there is one for the WN too!

Asking an honest question and starting a discussion on something relevant to the show that isn't a waifu war/leading fest?
I appreciate you OP.

>i'm a bit of a newfag to anime >could somebody sauce me? >So this doesnt get flagged as a request thread or something like that >Where can I find the web novel, in that case?? >>>/global/rules/16 You don't seem to understand how things work here. Sup Forums is not your personal search engine. All of your questions can be answered with a cursory google search. Help yourself before feeling entitled to beg others to help you. That sort of behavior is frowned upon.
I suggest you lurk before posting, and avoid calling attention to the fact that you're a newfag.

I think that the animation of Konosuba does an amazing job at conveying the sort of vibe that it was going for. It is sort of off and a bit silly at times, but the animators really gave it a sense of motion, even in fairly still scenes. The characters almost always had some sort of little movement or gesture, and that gave them all their very distinct and interesting personalities, and was also very enjoyable to watch.
Thomas Wright
I don't think we need to be that hostile in this case. I generally agree but I don't see where he's needlessly begging without contributing to some form of discussion.
Camden Gray
I agree. The animators were told never to draw a character in the same exact pose twice (similar to ren and stimpy, but thats not anime so we'll leave that out :^) ). At least his is what I've heard. Part of enjoying any animation for me, however, is seeing the ridiculousness of the character movements. It works with the concept of escaping the world to enjoy something, IMO.
Reminder that Re:zero is much better then this series
Ethan Hernandez
Reminder that Aqua is better than any slut in that show.
Julian Johnson
Aqua is a dumb slut who doesn't know what being "pure" is.
Nathan Barnes
Well that's just like your opinion, man
Charles Hughes
No, that's the truth, user.
Carson Price
>I hope the WN is translated There really isn't much of a purpose. The WN would be the equivalent of a rough draft of the story that then gets fixed and properly fleshed out in the LN. Light Novels are already rough enough as is, you don't really want to read the unfinished versions.
Nolan Ward
Back to your containment threads.

>yuNs didn't make any statment when 11 is gonna be translated, or if even it will be. It's over right? Is it time to let go?
Bentley Lewis
Well, he said he won't translate volume 11 until Continued Explosions is done. That's all we know.
Evan Williams

s2 episodes with the "don't thank us, we were the cause of the problems" humor were so forced I stopped watching ever since
Nolan King
So, one episode?

We've hit that point of the LN translator life cycle:
The transformation of a spunky and overly ambitious person with a light-hearted attitude into a cagey recluse, setting into motion the ensuing and inevitable infinite hiatus.
