How could DBZ fans allow this to happen?
How could DBZ fans allow this to happen?
There will never be a good physical release of dbz
Was pretty sure they had released a 4:3 on bluray. They will most likely do it to milk money out of it
Vegeta has one hell of a tan.
honestly, the blu ray looks best there
but why is it cut off in OPs pic?
saiyans are tan. Toriyama always colors them darker than regular humans.
where can I get the original broadcast?
>but why is it cut off in OPs pic?
dumb people look at 4:3 ratio shows on their wide screen tvs and get pissed off at their being black side bars. they crop it so its 16:9
>DBZ fans
>having standards
Not him but what is the most annoying thing is that you can literally push a button on your remote, or media player settings to munt it to 16:9. No reason to kill the product.
that's not what I mean
I'm asking why did the blu rays crop in but not in or is the latter one somehow false?
like, only the remastered shot is zoomed in.
First one is either Kai or filtered level sets.
I'm still deciding if super killed the entire series for me or if I should keep the good memories I had with the manga, the Z anime and the classic games.
Just stick the Dragonbox DVD release. Removing the grain from DBZ makes it actually look so fucking bad with the upscaling.
It doesn't have to be this way, you can do grain removal without it fucking up the image if you are competent and put the effort in.
Hell, i've even seen some damn good DNR filters applied to the level sets that looks nice.
Maybe so but the chucklefucks at Toei and Funimation sure as fuck can't manage it.
At least it isn't Disney
...
>digitally remastered
Don't remind me about how their raping Star Wars.
They literally asked for it.
they said grain was bad, and that cropping for widescreen looks more cinematic.
The Kai blurays were also 4:3.
Might be a TV broadcast, which was cropped to 16:9. I actually have the Japanese broadcast version of Kai because it's the only one with the Kai OST on the later episodes (besides the last three or so, which have no version that uses the Kai OST).
After what George Lucas did to them I can't imagine Disney doing worse.
Hell, weren't they going to release theatrical versions of the films?
Sorry, I misinterpreted. The 4:3 one is the kai one and the one in the OP is the season sets released most recently. The reason they were cropped was supposedly survey results favouring a cropped release over 4:3.
best online release for dragonball and z?
So to get the full shot, I need to buy the kai ones?
How could DB fans let DBZ happen?
Unfortunately, yes. If you strictly want BDs and without the shitty cropping, etc. Dragon Boxes are pretty pricey nowadays.
the level sets were the best physical release, but of fucking course they stopped producing them. (and they weren't even season sets to begin with)
well that's fine, I don't really like the colors ont he dragon box anyways.
They are weird. Has the whole Buu Saga even been released (Kai) yet?
blue ray is the lamest
9000 hours of paint
>muh 16:9 aspect ratio
Just as cancerous as ultra-wide
who the fuck cares
Dragon Ball fans are the scum of the anime viewers.
They have no taste, no standards, no nothing
lol
>DBZ fans
>Standards
Guess someone doesnt know about you really cant change aspect ratios from SD to HD and maintain the same size.
Did they use the photoshop Oil paint filter to "remaster" this?
Cropping a 4:3 ratio old series to widescreen sure is a bad idea.
Whats the problem?
G-Good lord
For DBZ:
[a-S] supposedly has the best video quality, and it has 3 audio tracks: Japanese dub + Japanese soundtrack, American dub + Japanese soundtrack, and American dub + American soundtrack. Downsides are the default audio track can be randomly different depending on the episode, and they cut the OPs, EDs, recaps, and next ep previews from every episode
[DBNL] supposedly has lesser video quality, and they lack the 3rd audio track, American dub + American soundtrack. But it does include the OPs, EDs, etc. They also have 2 separate releases, one for the 4:3 and one for the cropped shit, so make sure you get the 640x480
For DB, [Utsukushii-Raws] has the best video quality (and massive file size), but only Japanese dub. There's also [a-S] and [DBNL] again which are dual audio and have the same points for/against them as said above
lol people getting upset at Lucas for doing whatever he wants with his movies
Just accept Super as it's own thing just like Z and Dragon Ball, hell even GT
The things that made the movies good were other people holding Lucas back from going full retard.
...
what anbout if we make this C.C. thread ?
Holy fuck
wow the remastered colors looks like horse shit
Blu-ray more like blur-ray.
>tfw you're too retarded to notice or care about the color of the sky being 12% different from the original one you saw 10 years ago, or parts of the background being cut off.
Colors I can sort of understand, but how can you not care about a huge portion of the screen missing in every single scene?
In America? No, they're still airing the dub on Toonami and releasing blurays as they go.
I assume the Japanese ones are all out
They sure got enthusiastic with the blur tool.
Kek.
I personally could care less about the colors as long as it's watchable, but the cropping shit is just terrible since it's not always just background that gets chopped off.
go back to ktt
The blu rays are cropped frame by frame so some shots look fine then there are occasionally shots like OP pic
...
...
Why would you want to watch more of the modern Dragonball look? It looks so bright and plastic compared to the original.
That's not plastic, it doesn't use the white shade like Super.
