I am a 27 year old mulatto male who teaches in Saint Paul Minnesota. About 30% of our school is comprised of Somalian refugees and second generation Somalians. I teach classes ranging from 15 to 20 students and the average age in my classroom is 8.
This is the third year of my social experiment. What I do is sit the black Somalian boys with the white girls and move all of the white boys to the back of the classroom. I encourage the whole class to praise the Somalians and to BOOOO any misbehavior that the white boys cause. I scoff at white boy answers and really put them down for subpar work. Even the best white students will get shit from me. Sometimes the white boys will cry from the teasing, and I'll let the Somalian boys laugh for a while before I put a stop to it. I completely discourage participation from the white boys and they turn into boring vegetables in my classroom.
This takes about a month, even the rowdiest white boy will become a sheep in my class. Once this happens they have to sit back and watch every interaction between the black somalian boys and white girls. After about 3 months the white girls act like the white boys aren't even there.
I encourage aggressiveness from the black Somalians. They scare the white boys to shit and I don't stop it! I also encourage them to talk to the white girls as much as possible, to hold their hands, to exchange notes, to flirt. It works wonders, after a while they don't need any encouragement.
The white girls want nothing to do with the white boys its hilarious. Valentines cards are going to be the upcoming art project and for the third year in a row I suspect that no white boys will get Valentines from the girls.
