Yes I am one of them. There are probably a few of them left in Kazakhstan but I am not sure if it's in the ten of thousands anymore. A lot of them immigrated back to Germany. Especially in my generation. I met a lot of Kazakh Germans in school. Although most of them probably see themselves more as Russians than German.
My great grandfather was shot by the Soviets because he had a German WW2 uniform in his closet. He thaught his children a little bit of German but they mostly spoke Russian. My parents had to learn German when they came here. They are also very mixed with Russians. Maybe there are some isolated Germans there left but must of them married Russians. But even if they don't speak German, they tend to give all of their children German names.
I don't get to talk about this a lot because most people don't no where Kazakhstan is and think it's like Afghanistan.
