x265? VP9? AAC? AC3? DTS?

Ask Daiz.
Real anime fans use .RMVB
The only encoding accepted on Sup Forums is mkv. Fuck off, newfag.
>mkv is a container that holds x265, aac, etc....
...
Daiz, I don't know what kind of bait this is but we need you go back to shitting on crunchyroll.
...
divx
Remember?
>that shitty proprietary player
At least Real Media's player had retard-moe going for it.
What does this even mean?
i watch streams
12 bit MP5 files with uncompressed audiotrack to reduce the rotational velocidensity.
only .rmvb
I download anime from Youtube in .flv
>mkv
>encoding
10bit h264, bitrate depends on the quality of the source material
Most encoders bundle it with lossless audio, mostly FLAC, though ~90-110kbps opus is probably the best in terms of transparency/bitrate ratio
How much of Sup Forums watches 140p youtube rips and doesn't even know the difference?
>10bit h264
Why not h265?
those were the glorious days
>
bit h264
>Why not h265?
Why not h266?
Isn't h265 takes longer time to encode and stress your hardware more while playing?
>accepted on Sup Forums
>implying Sup Forums is a hivemind
>mkv supposedly a codec
>newfag
>trying this hard to fit in
Why aren't we on h265 yet? Most of my live movie releases are now h265.
i7 prices for encoding are a non-issue now that we have Ryzen
maybe remove the gaussian blur from the other pictures
>Most of my live movie releases are now h265.
Thanks yifi.
Yeah, but it's way more space-efficient IIRC.
x265 is still shit x264 produces better image quality at the same bitrate except for YIFY tier encodes (garbage)
10/10 video
10/10 audio
what else do you need?
streams like kissanime.
They usually have english dubs too
No, it doesn't. Stop talking shit.
>t. MPEG LA
xvid for video, lame for audio
No
Real anime fans use 5th generation VHS fansubs
>VHS
Look at this nerd.
REAL BETAS use betamax
your village a shit, bitch
>watch
mp3 is superior to what you listed
This article is one year old, but actually shows photographic proof:
wp.xin.at
You got any evidence to dispute it's better now? I'd like for the low bitrate streams we get to use it but no-one seems to give a shit about using H265 for the stuff it's actually good at.
x264 10bit for 1080p (Hi444P if the video is downscaled) and AAC encapsulated into mkv.
My brother watched the entire Ranma 1/2 on .RMVB
I kind of regret not teaching him how to torrent or IRC get files with good quality.
...
>quality
>relevant
FFV1+FLAC
AV1 if you can't get that and for reencodes
Source otherwise, which surely is h264 thanks to BD's and CR
AV1, soon enough
ffplay > notepad > mpc > vlc
Can someone give a rundown on encoding?
I use KCP but don't really notice a difference between playing in unmodified MPV
>not laserdisc
It's like you hate quality
does laserdisc have DUWANG?
Its the video codec used to render the video to a file. Some codecs look crystal clear HD and optimized file size, others look like legos. You cant change it by playing through different players. Its stuck in whatever format someone used to rip ot off the dvd/bluray.
Yes, HEVC is more CPU intensive, but it is still objectively better. you get double the quality for the same file size. which all that matters in the long run. You don't even need a top of the line PC to use HEVC, I did tests on my machine already with an i3 and it can play a 2160p60 HEVC test file perfectly fine.
Real anime fans used to watch ShoutCast streams
always wondered kind of software anime re-encoder use nowadays. i personally used handbrake to re-encode some anime from 720p to 360p to conserve HDD space back then. now i keep adding HDD since encoding takes impractical time figuring my anime stash.
i never do achieve as efficient low MB to high/moderate quality as other anime encoder.
Probably due to VBR and static Bitrates things. does Sup Forums know?
Handbrake is just a UI, that basically translates the settings you give it into command line arguments for ffmpeg. Personally I think handbrake is fine but most Sup Forumsutists will call you fag if you aren't feeding ffmpeg direct command line arguments.
