Power levels doesnt equate to physical strength, ability or intellect, just someones stamina, ki implosiveness, speed, and durability. Tiens been training ever since Cell Saga so in the 9 years its been since then he's probably around Imperfect Cell in terms of power level but is around SS Vegeto in terms of battle intellect and strategy. Piccolo is around SS2 Teen Gohan in terms of PL but is around Beerus in terms of ability. Mystic Gohan will be around SS Vegeto by episode 90. And SSG2Goku? He's as strong as SS Vegeto right now.

If Gohan wants to surpass Goku, thats good because he will be the strongest again, but bad because he would face the strongest in U11 aka Jiren, and his chance to beat him are slim to none.

If they really go with Gohan surpassing Goku, he could weaken Jiren enough that Goku beats him afterwards. That'd keep Gohan stronger while allowing Goku to get the final battle.

I like they mention Tenshihan's tricky techniques there. It'll be so nice to see Tenshinhan back to the weird technique user like in DB, rather than just Kikoho spam. It could improve his moveset in fighting games by a lot too.

I have an idea for a story arc, hear me out on this one.

Master Roshi in full wise-old-sensai mode, sugests that Goku, Vegeta, Tien, Krillin, Gohan, Android 18 etc and himself all enter the upcoming Tenkaichi Budokai tournament.
They all scoff at the idea, telling Roshi that such a small arena with innocent civilians around wouldn't allow them to go all out. Krillin also disaproves because there's no way he could take on Goku and co in a serious battle.

Roshi then tells them that they will all be forbidden from raising their power level above 500 (or whatever) so that they will all be fighting with even strength, the purpose of the tournament will be to test their skill and abilities, not their power. He tells them all that they have become too focused on gaining power and have neglected to refine their technique.
Bulma whips up some scouters that she and others will wear to ensure that no one cheats and raises their power level too high.

Think of the fights we could have with this.
>Vegeta VS Piccolo
>Vegeta VS Tien
>Tien VS Piccolo
>Master Roshi VS Android 18
>Krillin VS Android 18

All of these fights would be able to take place knowing that anyone could win. Vegeta would probably drop his guard and underestimate Krillin and get his ass kicked a little before getting mad and turning Super Saiyain, then walking out of the ring when he realises that he broke the rule.

Imagine Tien coming out on top and winning the whole tournament.

There is literally no way Gohan is going to surpass Goku. There's no feasible way he could get past regular Kaioken, and Goku can use Kaioken x10 in combination with SSB. The best Gohan can hope for is being able to fight on par with regular SSB, and even that's a stretch. We all know how "surpassing" works in DB.

The only ones who complained about Trunks's powerup are literal retards, Super Saiyan transformations have always been affected by Anger, and we know that Super Saiyan 3 is just a special transformation that Goku developed and NOT the next step beyond SSJ2, what stops this SSR from being the level beyond SSJ2? also remember that Trunks already has a potential beyond Goku and Vegeta because he is half-saiyan, just like Gohan, use your fucking head
