I am 30 and I occasionally (less than one hour a week) play a few select titles. I still feel weird about it. I totally stopped paying to vidya some time in 2009, it's all the same shit repackaged over and over again and with the recent sjw infiltration there is practically no reason to play vidya at all any more outside of hyper autistic gsgs or weird simulators.
Not very common. Manchildren just are overrepresented in social media and most vocal in signaling about their hobbies. I still play games every once in a while, but no reason to talk about it to anyone or post about it online.

I still enjoy games at 29. Got a gf, real estate owner (paid for entirely by myself, no mommy daddy sponsorship), planning a kid now, phd in engineering, good career.
Enjoying my switch a lot, same goes for gaming PC. The only difference is I am WAY more selective with which games I want to spend time on. I play maybe 5-6 games a year.
Meh. I play vidya often (don't watch anime) but I don't sperg about it, or try and advocate it generally, but it's a great way for me to deal with stress. Just gotta make sure it doesn't function as a substitute for important stuff you ought to be doing. I still have a relationship and a job, but I only have a couple of friends and we don't undertake stuff so.
You have to look for them. The mainstream FPS's don't count for all modern games.

Anyway if you play video games frequently (more than 2-3 hours a week) past 23 you have a problem with your life, the more a man age the more he should seek things providing him long term gratification or self-improvement, video games do neither of that and are just tricking your brain into a shot of endorphin and turning you into an addict.
I've never met an adult "gamer" who is an achiever in real life btw, 95% of the times they are skinny fat or overweight men with no ambition or culture, the sad thing is that some of them are smart and wasting their potential just to get some number or ranking in a meaningless online game.
If they just redirected this passion and energy toward gaining money, acquiring knowledge or developing fitness they would have a much more meaningful, fullfilling and happy life.

I think I lost it at 13 and then spent nearly a decade convincing myself that video games were still an important part of my life and that I enjoyed playing them but really it wasn't even a hobby, just a time killer.

I lost interest in my mid 20s. I played with friends in my late 20s but I had to force myself cuase I found it tedious, however if you're doing it with friends you know well it can be a lot of fun, just like playing cards and shooting the shit to pass time in a fun, unproductive way.

In my opinion this type of free time can be divided into two categories; creation and the consumption of creation. The first being hobbies like drawing, painting, making music etc., the second one being watching TV, playing video games etc. Of course reading books would strictly fall under the second category and a building game like Minecraft would fall under the first, but by reading books you are creating a smarter brain and by playing Minecraft you're actually not creating anything because you're doing it within the enclosure of what someone else thought up and sold.
You want to fill your free time with the creation category as much as possible. It makes you a better person and in the end it's more fun.
