Can we discuss Gintama? I'm halfway through and it's one of the most hit and miss anime I've ever seen, it's usually the best when it sticks with comedy, drama really isn't its best asset.

I like Gintama, the comedy and the drama.

I like how they handle both comedy and drama, even though the lack of comedy in these chapters is a little disturbing.

Also, best pairing.

Is Japanese mayo actually that good?

I think it's a joke on the the person his character was based off of. IIRC something about the dude would put on really weird toppings on foods.

started watching it last fall. Caught up just before the latest season started. Was one helluva ride, and now one of my favorite shows of all time. The start was weak, but boy does it pick the fuck up later on, and make it worth watching the beginning.

Why Gintama are overrated?

Aside from MAL rankings I don't feel gintama is overrated, it's mostly just an easy target to shit on for Sup Forums

It's because it's a long running show with a few bland episodes at the start. It's easier to just say it isn't worth it because it has so many episodes.
