It looks like the current boundaries of NI will be changed for subsequent elections. These boundaries worked well for Nationalist communities in the recent past, however new changes means we will have to adapt if we want a Border Poll.
One previous proposed Border change was published a few days ago but was deleted in recent hours. apps.spatialni.gov.uk/Other/BCNIApplication/index.html The page was still active even last night, and proposed new constituencies like Causeway and Mid-Down.
However pic related seems to be the new proposal, destroying the concept of Mid-Ulster and instead expanding the constituencies of East Derry, West Tyrone, and Fermanagh-South Tyrone.
This appears to be DUP gerrymandering, as the rural areas around Strabane are somewhat Unionist-heavy.
The subsequent expansion of East Derry contains Magherafelt, and this means Nationalists are more likely to take the seat in Westminster elections.
The proposed Dál Riada constituency seems to be more Unionist gerrymandering, as Nationalists have grown in East Derry (cutting off Coleraine and pairing it with North Antrim).
Of the various proposals I've seen, I'd rather keep it the way it is.

This is exactly what I am suggesting. The closest example of a new, successful party is the Social Democrats and the range of their support is very limited. The only reason this party can sustain itself is because of the failures of Labour in certain areas, and their potential growth is minimal.
The existing parties have already spent decades expading their grassroots. No new party will experience any electoral success.
