Make a manga about a functional and legal harem

>make a manga about a functional and legal harem
>no spineless faggot mc
Sounds good right?
>wife 1 is a former schoolgirl prostitute impregnated at age 13
>wife 2 is a splashy gal who has obviously been around the block
>wife 3 is a doormat who spent the last few years in Tokyo getting cheated on, dumped, and dicked

Why can't we have nice things?

*flashy

Lol wife 2 still splashing around the block.

I dropped this when I saw his bimbo wife

All 3 apparently.

>wife 4 is a highschool girl, who was forced to join by the mc and wife 2 to make wife 3 jealous

The highschool girl hooks her gym teacher or something in the raws.

I imagine it would only be bimbos who would be okay with polygamy in a realistic setting

Or Japanese women

The guy is shit too (him not being a push-over doesn't make him good). Every character in this manga is just unlikeable.

name?

Name?

That nigger is just unlikable at first. It took me two full years to not vibrantly disdain him. But something clicked and now I like him.

I may have dropped this before he got better then. Too bad the girls seem to get far worse.

Wife 2 is cheating on him with her ex in the raws. The manga is stuck in a flashback now which is like retroactive NTR.

But the manga is written by a woman so what do you expect?

>those backgrounds
What the fuck?

>Female author
Gee I wonder why.

what manga is that?

>woman writes a romance manga
>realistic plot
>each character has their own character flaws that they must confront
>guy writes romance manga
>it's about 5 lolis lusting after some 30 year old's dick
the contrast is amazing.

No more like every girl fucks many men.

Sure it's trying to be realistic but no one wants realism in their anime and manga.

>harem setting
>realistic

Also they found out she's pregnant and he probably impregnated her.
So for those keeping track at home
>prostitute
>cheater
>doormat
Fucking retconning NTR

I don't have any evidence of this but I really strongly feel that this series is made for women. It actually feels like the reader is supposed to self insert as the 3rd bitch. Anyway, there's no benefit to reading this as a male as far as I'm concerned.

...

Madoka is the prostitute? I figured that'd be Yuzu. I have a feeling the guy's going to leave both of them and stick with #3 instead.

I thought its kinda obnoxious how the male lead just doesn't act more dominant, at least to the point where I read. I like the idea of a proper harem (with a single dominant guy) but idk. He's a little too "patient".

>But the manga is written by a woman so what do you expect?
Why are women so much better at romance than men?

It's in a Seinen magazine
If a harem law was ever enacted in real life then I'm sure it would be the opposite of sunshine and rainbows

The magazine doesn't necessarily reflect the audience of the specific series. I know there are several Jump series (a Shounen magazine) that are more popular with women, for example. This just -feels- like something made for women, if you know what I mean. If you've been reading manga for long enough you can just sort of feel the demographic something is aiming for. Even small things like the way anatomy is draw leads me to believe this is a female oriented series.

Is this harekon? because that manga was so boring.

do people really self-insert in manga? i just root for the mc every time.

>Is this harekon?
Yes

>do people really self-insert in manga?
No, no one does.

In rural Utah there are still old fashioned Mormons who never went along with the church's abolition of polygamy (which was only done under threat by the US gov't). There have been documentaries done about those communities and they found that the women are all pretty much brainwashed doormats, and young men are forced out of the community because all the young women are monopolized by creepy old patriarchs so there are no prospects or future for young men.

Fuck you.

I think that was the point all along. For girls to self-insert as the harem-breaker.

I remember dropping this like one volume in. Everyone, guy included, were unlikable pieces of shit.

When you think about it, it's the ultimate female fantasy, monopolizing a popular man. The harem is just window dressing.

I do all the time. It immerses you more deeply in sorrow, romance, longing etc.

Manga isn't sports. You need to be able to bond with the characters to get the full enjoyment. Self-insert is just the ultimate level of immersion. This is why authors reveal even the innermost thought and feelings to their leads. Your heart should beat with theirs.

The writer isn't always writing for their audience though. Non probably put her foot in the door with Hare-kon and gradually made these young male nips go from
>"having a harem would be awesome"
to
>"having a harem just means I get cucked 3 times as much, I guess I'll just go with this discarded bar skank"

Government propaganda I bet.

>no one wants realism in their anime and manga
This guy fucking gets it. Except this applies to most fiction for me.

>Self-insert is just the ultimate level of immersion.
You just spoiled the whole bait, don't be too hasty.

I didn't, its true. People who don't self-insert are interacting with their media all wrong.

You clearly don't reach much if you think those generalizations are valid.

Lmao I hope you didn't self-insert as Nobu. Nana 1 is such an immaculate example of an utter star-fucking whore too. Yazawa Ai killed the only good relationship, then made the only good character go insane (and I mean Rena haha).

Nigger video games. for real. I'm talkin video games and people bein all "real women don't look like that" and i be "well real niggas don't fly around eating stars all day" like seriously

Uh no? I self-inserted with Nanas (especially Hachi)...you know, the leads? They are some of the most famously relateable and realistic figures in all manga, afaic. Don't tell me you wouldn't have sex with a celebrity you idolized as an early 20something.
Reina is a rapist and Nobu refused to care for his own kids.

I read a TON and its valid to say men cannot write romance. Not saying all males write pedo/harem crap, and its not true that all women write realism, but women can write better and more likeable characters in more sexy situations, whereas males tend to write a sexy girl and have the Male Lead be like "Bwuhhh? all the time. Its obnoxious.

Men aren't interested in romance. We could probably write it, but why would we want to?

>Nobu refused to care for his own kids
You fucking absolute retard.
>Like a girl.
>She's fucking this big celebrity.
>He keeps taunting you about your unrequited love.
>Eventually you win her heart.
>Tell her that you will wait a few weeks for her to break up with the celebrity
>She comes back and says she broke up with him
>The two of you start dating
>Find out she's pregnant
>You always wore a condom
>Suddenly the celebrity guy arrives at her fucking house
>You're standing right there
>Celebrity guy confirms that she never wore a condom with him
>Celebrity guy doesn't even know they broke up
>Making her look like a liar and a cheat (even if it was a misunderstanding)
>You're dumbstruck
>Get thrown out into the hallway
>Celebrity guy closes the door and starts fucking her

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah if that girl is relateable to you then I hope you never spread your genes. She became a kept woman. And a disgusting cunt too. She ditched good Nana at a party just to get fucked, acting all clueless-like. Her husband is cheating on her all the time but she doesn't care to even try to notice because she's never actually loved the jackass, just his famous penis. They barely exchanged 2 words outside of the bedroom before they got engaged because of a bastard in her womb.

This is actually a problem with editors shoehorning the author because of the publications genre and target audience. Though this is more prevalent in novels than in manga.

>women can write better and more likeable characters in more sexy situations

Enjoy your NTR, niggers, chads and low life handsome guys.

>That art
Oh this fucking mangaka

Just a different set of demons from nosebleeds, "kyaaa"s, asexual indecisive faggots, "I like him because he's kind", and the insufferable bitching and whining of the protagonist.

>>Get thrown out into the hallway
>>Celebrity guy closes the door and starts fucking her

This never happens. Takumi leaves and when he comes back they are both gone. Also while Nobu did wear a condom, Ren II looks a lot more like him than he does Takumi.

And Hachi does know he cheats on her. Come on. She knows he's that kind of man from day 1.

Yeah I will.

Nah, even female seinen/shounen romance authors manage to do a really good job. Meanwhile there are pretty much zero male shoujo romance writers (unless you dig really really obscure/old stuff)

Flip it around and girls romance is the exact same way. Only the FeMC is the insufferable indecisive one.

Not to mention that she soundly keeps Nobu as a backup. And any shadow of doubt to the author's intentions regarding the portrayal Hachi's actions as absolutely gross should be removed when you remember Nobu's very next girlfriend: an AV actress.
>sleeps with men for money despite her romantic affections laying elsewhere
>does it on camera and wants a lot of people to see
That's the description of Hachi we are given by Yazawa Ai.

What is this manga? Some of us want to feel heart broken too.

Nah I don't think so. Girls in shoujo can be a bit more submissive, they can have conflicting feelings, but they aren't asexual idiots going "BWUHHH?" when the male leads pursue them.

You can be indecisive and unsure in a believable way (pic related) or in retard, male harem way.

Read the thread, the name is in two posts.

Shoujo was a mistake.

Hare Kon. Its okay, the male lead should be sexier and less of the backup girls.

What does Nobu's second gf have to do with Hachi? If Nobu's second gf is Hachi, then Takumi, Andou and Shouji are all Nobu.

This isn't Shoujo, it's Seinen almost bordering on Josei

self inserting is for gay retards

You make the case that Hachi isn't a shit by asserting that she's shit? Staying with him while knowing he cheats is even more transparent to the fact she's a starfucker that tossed Nobu out like garbage because he wasn't hot, suave, and famous. Kid didn't even get 3 minutes to think about her pregnancy before she leaped into the arms of the guy she told him she broke up with, now inexplicably at her apartment claiming paternity (after knowing that he obviously is the father because poor Nobu wore a condom every time because he actually treated her like a person T_T how sad!).

It really doesn't matter whose kid it actually is now because I'm pretty sure nobody had x-Ray/time travel vision in that room. Hachi still leads Nobu on though and gets him to take care of the kid regardless.

>>make a manga about a functional and legal harem
>>no spineless faggot mc
>Sounds good right?
No

Its female-written Seinen. Not quite shoujo tier.

Is seinen just dark shonen and josei just jaded shoujo?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seinen_manga
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josei_manga

>What does Nobu's second gf have to do with Hachi?
Because that's how Yazawa Ai wrote it.

>tossed Nobu out like garbage because he wasn't hot, suave, and famous
No, Nobu didn't step up to the plate because he's a massive manchild. Takumi did, because he has an incredible sense of paternal responsibility. Takumi finds out Hachi is pregnant right before he tells Nobu. And he steps right up to the plate, he doesn't stand around acting all shocked. Takumi might be a bad husband but he's a great father afaic. And that counts for a lot when you are pregnant and scared like Hachi was.
>now inexplicably at her apartment claiming paternity
Takumi said it didn't matter, he was going to take care of her child either way.
>Hachi still leads Nobu on though and gets him to take care of the kid regardless.
No, Takumi takes care of Ren. Satsuki is probably Takumi's though.

Does nobody care that the second wife was impregnated by guy she's been fucking behind-the-scenes for 118 chapters? Why was that retcon necessary?

There's really no difference between josei and shoujo. Josei tends a little bit more towards working women as the leads, which is very rare in shoujo. Even then thats not much of a rule.

he should divorce them both and just marry haru. they're both trash.

>No, Nobu didn't step up to the plate
He was told a).she's pregnant b).she never broke up with her boyfriend and c).he fucked her bareback (while Nobu wore condoms). All in the span of around 5 minutes

>he's a massive manchild
He's 19 years old

>Takumi did, because he has an incredible sense of paternal responsibility
Because he knew he fucked her bareback and knew Nobu didn't.

>And that counts for a lot when you are pregnant and scared like Hachi was.
Scared that it was Nobu's because he doesn't have money or a famous penis.

>Takumi said it didn't matter, he was going to take care of her child either way
Because he knew it was his. Again, see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condom

>No, Takumi takes care of Ren.
Nobu is still being kept around to play babysitter. Being led on by Hachi up until Yazawa Ai went on hiatus. Try reading.

>i don't know how to write for shit
>lets throw stupid soap opera drama everywhere and hope that distracts people
Great manga.

Haru is fucking her gym teacher.

The ages just adapt to the target audience's average age.

Shoujo is awesome especially when I run out of xration djs.

Yeah but not even always then. So NANA stars grown ass women and is shoujo, but Sakamichi no Apollon largely stars highschool kids and is josei.

There's no stark contrast the way you see between shoujo and most seinen/shounen. Its just a difference in magazines.

>knew Nobu didn't.
No he didn't. And he let Nobu have dibs, he completely acknowledged Nobu as Hachi's boyfriend and himself as the "other man". Hachi never tells Takumi that Nobu used a condom.

>Nobu is still being kept around to play babysitter.
No he's not. Ren II and Takumi are in the UK. YOU try reading. This is one of the most famous aspects of Takumi and Hachi's later marriage.

The author is just making stuff up along the way.
Some events are just too sudden and abrupt, there's little or even zero foreshadows.
Kinda remind me of Kuzu no Honkai.

>No he didn't
Yes he did. Any human male would. It's so obvious that he does because it's so basic. Like "just the tip" not meaning shit.

>Hachi never tells Takumi that Nobu used a condom.
The condom statement is made by Nobu himself.

>No he's not. Ren II and Takumi are in the UK.
? So what?
That's not mutually exclusive with what I said. And you're talking about the flash forward world anyways. Chapter 83 literally has Hachi, a woman with a husband and child, and a shit load of money, about to accept a kiss from Nobu, her ex-boyfriend and small-time musician.

>The condom statement is made by Nobu himself.

Yeah and to Nana, not to Takumi. Try READING. As far as Takumu knows, nobody used a condom. Plus condoms fail, Ren looks way more like Nobu then like Takumi and still Takumi is an ace father.

>That's not mutually exclusive with what I said.
You claimed Nobu was babysitting Ren and this is bs.

>Chapter 83 literally has Hachi, a woman with a husband and child, and a shit load of money, about to accept a kiss from Nobu
Her child is still unborn at that time, and Nobu is practically trying to force the kiss on her. She doesn't want it. Nobu is a weird slimeball manchild and worst boy in Nana worse than Asano or Shouji.

>self-inserting into Hachi

Literal trash character. Layla is 100% more sympathetic than her but bitches and whores feel validated by Hachi because she's an MC so if they defend her shitty behaviour it's like they are defending their own.

doormat best girl

>trying to force the kiss on her

My fucking sides. Hachi has been a literal slut from day one when she was fucking a married man and she herself admits she's an easy woman. Even Nana felt bad for Nobu because of the shitty way Hachi treated him. Try not self-inserting so hard womanchild.

Reira is a literal child rapist/pedophile, and imho, incredibly selfish/clingy, like get a grip. Easily my least favorite character in the whole thing.

Hachi is just a sweet girl who wants to love and be loved, something pretty much everyone can easily relate to. Also she doesn't pay for child prostitutes. So thats a plus too.

>Seigi no Mikata hasn't updated in years.
Feels bad.

>Nobu is practically trying to force the kiss on her
Lol okay sure. It's rape when you dislike the character because his appearance isn't tailored to your pussy. And again, a 19 year-old isn't a man, hence cannot be a manchild. You self-inserted way too hard.

Hachi (you) loves Nobu more than Takumi but she's a materialistic bitch seeking a daddy and has been since chapter one. Your self-insert has gotten in the way of you absorbing the author's narrative, hence we return to the original topic: self-inserting is bad.

>Hachi is just a sweet girl who wants to love and be loved
She wants money and an older man. It's been that way for every single relationship besides Nobu. That's a huge point that Yazawa Ai constantly pushes. Self-inserting this hard is an illness.

>wants to love and be loved
So she chooses the one who doesn't love her? Hachi wants financial security more than love.

> It's rape when you dislike the character because his appearance isn't tailored to your pussy.
I didn't say rape, I said its a forced kiss because it is. And yes, Nobu is also ugly.

>a 19 year-old isn't a man
Its a man in most nations of the world. But fine, so be it, he's a regular boychild. Is that supposed to make him more likeable, or more of a father? Meanwhile Takumi has been helping to support his family since he was an adolescent.

>she's a materialistic bitch seeking a daddy and has been since chapter one

You mean where she fell in love with all matter of working class guys? Yeah Asano is professional class, but he was also very loving and has that older man mystique (also looks sharp in a suit). Then Shouji who is an ART student (not at all rich, nor older than Hachi). She only broke up with Nobu when Nobu proves what a boychild he is by not being there for her in her pregnancy.

Nobu could have had Hachi, he is the one who turns her down. Don't say "he's shocked" when Takumi walked right into that shock and did the right thing when Hachi needed him.

>Married man, her employer, celebrity,
>All matter of working class guys

Haha. It's power. Jesus fucking Christ. Do I need to explain the entire manga to you? Subtext much?

>Don't say "he's shocked" when Takumi walked right into that shock and did the right thing
He acted like a sociopath with disposable income. And not a human being like Nobu who can't keep Hachi as a pet (another huuuuge red flag concerning Yazawa Ai's intentions with that character that you clearly missed).

>So she chooses the one who doesn't love her? Hachi wants financial security more than love.
Takumi does love her. He's a manwhore but he does care in his own way, and he especially cares for his children. He has a massive paternalistic streak.
Nobu sees her as some kind of mommy figure, and he couldn't man up to be there for his own (potential) child, let alone Hachi herself. That'ts not love, thats a fling. He wants Hachi to caress him and mommy him. And Nobu IS pretty much rich too. Unlike Takumi, who works incredibly hard to make money in spite of being born disadvantaged, Nobu is born rich and has his parents waiting as a safety net but chooses to slum it as a guitarist because he wants to be a rock star.

The end.

>She wants money and an older man
Shouji is not older, nor is he wealthy. He's an art student working part time as a waiter. When Hachi comes to live with him he literally tells her to get a job because he can't provide for her. That leaves Asano. If you count Hachi's crushes, you get older guys but none who are particularly wealthy (art teacher, video rental clerk, pizza boy and chef).

She wants love. She wants strong bonds with others. She also wants some stability in her life, and who doesn't? You can't hold that against her.

Idk how people see the fact that Hachi = a pet dog and don't think that's intentional or prevalent to her character.

>When Hachi comes to live with him he literally tells her to get a job because he can't provide for her. That leaves Asano.

Yes? That's proof that she wants a "provider" dipshit.

>And Nobu IS pretty much rich too. Unlike Takumi, who works incredibly hard to make money in spite of being born disadvantaged

Oh. So you LITERALLY never read the manga. Sorry. My bad.

Oh shoot I forgot Mizukoshi-san, the one whose shop went bankrupt entirely.

Shouji is not powerful. Neither is the stupid video store clerk or whoever. Yes, power makes a guy sexier.

>He acted like a sociopath with disposable income.

No, he acted like a caring and loving man. His disposable income was all hard-earned too which allows him to give his kids a good life and Hachi a good life too.

Nobu could always go back to his family's inn. He chooses not to, he chooses his stupid guitar, and in doing so he abandons Hachi and her baby. What do you want Hachi to do? Follow Nobu even though he's proven himself to be a boychild?

>She wants love.
Picks the one who doesn't.
>She wants strong bonds with others.
Her relationships crumble because of it
>She also wants some stability in her life
And she succeeded
>and who doesn't?
Rebels and other cool people
>You can't hold that against her.
Why not? Favoring stability over love and bonds is what a lobotomized sheep does.

>No, he acted like a caring and loving man.
By barging in and saying you'll raise a kid in front of the mother's boyfriend? And then going on to ignore and cheat? That's all it takes?
>His disposable income was all hard-earned too
So you missed the entire commentary on the music industry regarding the manga too? You missed the entire plot about Takumi taking advantage of Reira's musical talents? Wow. They say love makes you blind, but I didn't know that counted for fictional characters.
