Well it was VN with H-scenes, that would explain it, but it doesn't explain how DEEN found a way after they did Rozen maiden in 2004 and it looked a lot better.

Because it is?

It's based on a shitty hentai so it's staying true to its roots

Fate wasn't as big then

Rozen Maiden was animated by Nomad, not DEEN

>implying it wasn't supposed to be a shitty hentai from the get-go

Then why did they cut the fucking scenes?

>that rock-hard chest in the last panel

Explain Further.

2006 - Advertisement for the PS2 VN porn free port, mostly the first route but with some part from 2nd and 3rd, and anime-original scenes added in for whatever reasons. Avoid

2010 - Recap OVA of 2006, super rushed cashgrab adaption of Unlimited Blade Works, the second route of the VN. Avoid

2012 - Fate Zero - pretty good adaptation of the prequel book by Urobuchi Gen of Nitro+. Its best read/watch after completing the VN, but anime-only wise you should only be watching this.

2014 - Unlimited Blade Works TV - cashgrab adaptation to shill Grand Order and the VN re-release onto Android/iOS. Looks pretty, but poorly done by a hack director.

2017(?) - Heaven's Feel movie - part of the advertising scheme for Grand Order that started with UBW TV, quality unknown. Even if its good, Heaven's Feel cannot stand on its own as a complete product without the other 2 routes.

Prisma Illya is a spinoff that's 60-70% fate fanservice and 30-40% mahou loli fanservice. You can watch it standalone, and it'll still sort of work, but knowledge of the main series is highly recommended

Or they can watch all of them and come to their own conclusions.

>2014 - Unlimited Blade Works TV - cashgrab adaptation to shill Grand Order and the VN re-release onto Android/iOS. Looks pretty, but poorly done by a hack director.
This is the most wrong opinion I've ever heard on Sup Forums in my entire life.
I didn't even read the rest because of how stupid this part was.

I doubt there will ever be an adaptation that manages to adapt Fate/Stay Night properly since the routes do depend on each other for exposition, meaning that routes may have to be fused and a lot of creative tweaking ought to be done.

Do people really think Fate route was that shit? Sure, it's saddled with introductory exposition and a more standard narrative and romance (just like Arc's route). Is it also that they think Shirou never developed his belief of being an ideal hero (which is wrong)?

>Why is there no fire?
>Battle to the Strong
>Why isn't there Emiya - Time Alter?
>Why can Kirei block bullets?
>Why isn't Iri in a black dress?
>Why is the Grail Kerry's island and not total hell?
>Why wasn't there the Lancelot flashback?

AND!
>The Blu Rays will fix everything!

>2014 - Unlimited Blade Works TV - cashgrab adaptation to shill Grand Order and the VN re-release onto Android/iOS. Looks pretty, but poorly done by a hack director.
nice try

>Nasu wanted Ufo to make a Fate route adaptation to keep it consistent with Zero
>Miura threw a tantrum because muh emiya
>while fucking hilarious the powerboost Rin and Luvia got in their wrestling match at the end contradicts canon and makes it seem absurd that Rin was such a non-factor in any fight besides the one with Caster
>while quite pretty and fluid most of the fights lack any real sense of 'weight' besides a few instances of Lancer jumping and leaving a crater and Berserker fucking up shit passively by merely running - beyond those, however, the majority of the Servant's didn't seem nearly as powerful as they actually are and the choreography gave no sense of them possessing any notable degree of skill or experience, merely super speed and the ability to pull of some rather unbelievable contortioning
>In some parts it slows to a crawl with 30 minute dialogues and expositions scenes and barely anything happening, in other parts important events and character development is breezed through with no attention paid to them. Whole Shirou-Rin arc is basically nonexistent for example.
>Nasu being a polite Japanese man bowed and said it was for the best
>then wrote a short novel about Arturia and Merlin and Camelot to bundle in UBW BD which had Fate route ending as the most important and relevant one of the three routes which directly connects to FGO and big Universe and timeline crisis

No, but when it got popular, the hipsters bore their fangs.
The fate/zero anime was a double edged sword.
It was a higher quality fate universe adaptation, yet brought a flock of ignorant new fanboys.
Now there's a war.

It was also directed by Miura of KnK6 fame and it shows; it's so goddamn atmospheric and the colors, backgrounds etc are not just beautiful but purposeful to getting across specific emotions.

When a fan service mahou shoujo spin-off and a dungeon crawler with rps battle system are the best written and in general the most enjoyable entries in the franchise, it's really time to think and reevaluate things.

You wrote this post as if you already had an idea in mind and took snippets of facts from interviews and warped them to serve your imagination.
In short, you're wrong and you won't convince anyone like this.
Nobody threw a tantrum about what route to adapt, Nasu himself admits he would have handled Saber better if given another chance but is more than willing to adapt UBW - and we all know it fits better as a continuation from F/Z than the Fate route.

I'll give you that the anime had too many flashy lasers and effects covering up the movement, but other than that I thought it was incredible. Better than the route in the VN, in fact.

>When a fan service mahou shoujo spin-off and a dungeon crawler with rps battle system are the best written
I disagree. I thought Prisma Ilya was trash and Fate/Extra was repetitive and dull.
I try to respect people's opinions as much as I can, but if those are your favourite parts of the franchise, I can't respect you as a human being.

>plot-points/reveals/twists of UBW lose their impact for any show-watchers and the lacking compensation made for them (such as the added Caster/Ilya scenes) doesn't do enough to fix this. In particular, Caster's master scenes really did nothing to add anything to her backstory or make one more sympathetic to the character - it'd have been far better to focus on her past as a princess, how Jason spurned her, and her fall to witchcraft if Ufotable was looking to add context for her actions and motives
>Shirou has nearly every single one of his important character-monologues about his ideals and past removed, his banter with Rin is severely limited, and the removal of the death scenes + alterations made to the Gilgamesh, Kuzuki, and Archer fights removes any sense of danger being posed towards him. Instead he's a standard oblivious MC with no idea Rin is into him until near the end of the show, has mild PTSD and survivor's guilt instead of being barely human in any meaningful sense mentally, and appears to have ten layers of plot armour

In the VN it was shown through explicit and intricate detail that UBW only helped Shirou to win because he preys on exactly one key advantage over GoB and even then it relied entirely on Gilgamesh being a retard and letting Shirou close the distance.

The anime made it look like UBW was equal to GoB and that Shirou was simply stronger than Gilgamesh. It got even more egregious when Shirou seemingly stopped using UBW at all and was just flying around with Rho Aias and shitting all over everything before slicing Gil's arm off.

It feels like even ufotable realized this because they had Gil literally say
>You beat me fair and square with UBW
as if to remind viewers that it facilitated Shirou's victory.

Let me guess, you prefer FSN/FHA, Tsukihime, KnK and Mahoyo to FGO, CCC and Prisma Ilya?

Nasu on HF True:

When I finished writing the Saber and Rin route all in one go, part of me thought the game wouldn't be settled unless I flipped it over. As the theme of Fate/stay night, if we assume the Saber route to be posing a question, the Rin route is the answer and the Sakura route is a practical application. In the beginning there were plans for an Illya route, but if we were to add it, the game would have wound up being incredibly huge. So we had this plan to release the Saber route and Rin route as "Fate/stay night", and the Illya route and Sakura route as "Fate/other night". But when we thought of the 8800 yen price, we decided we should include the Sakura route after all, so in the end, we decided to combine the Illya route and Sakura route into one route. So, although it had been finished during 2002, we took more time to reorganize the plot in January or February of the following year.

It (Normal End) was the only conclusion considered at the time. However, after writing about 2/3 of it, I found that the story itself did not allow such a conclusion. After that, I wrote the original conclusion, and then followed the story and write the happy end. Since this was Shirou's tale of happiness after losing so much, even if Saber and Illya were lost, at least he should let Sakura achieve happiness. And this was the conclusion. Even though Sakura indirectly became a mass murderer, there was no reason to deny her of happiness. I came up with this idea that if one were alive, it was not bad to redeem him/herself while looking forward to happiness. Even though this was hypocrisy, I felt that the story itself strongly demanded this possibility. To be honest, it was the first time that I lost to the story I wrote.

Nasu: Yes, its plot was created with porn in mind.

I prefer Fate/Stay Night, visual novel or ufotable adaptation to prisma ilya. KNK too. I never tried FGO and I have no intentions to - it looks like shit.

>lumping in CCC with that other garbage
No.

Man these threads are fucking garbage, everyone's just tossing around their opinions like facts, acting like mini-gilgameshes.
You're all cunts.

>I never tried FGO and I have no intentions to - it looks like shit.

Why do fans of classic TM works hate Nasu's masterpiece, Fate/Grand Order?

Because it was as entertaining to watch as your average shonen crap, but completely dropped the ball on being a faithful adaptation to F/SN, which is a seinen.

Where's the new HF PV?

That was Extra, but Mahoyo's release marks the end of the golden age and the descent into cancer.

>shitty hentai anime is animated like shitty hentai anime

They're being uploaded on the 8th

What if Shirou were a girl and summoned this Servant?

I know is Gudako, but the design fits.

>People say that Fate is a respectable franchise.

Nah.

It could only end in heartbreak.

Angry Manjuu would still be a thing so probably just a repeat of UBW.

Why didn't Gilgamesh just use his vastly superior speed and strength to punch a hole in Shirou?

ciusu ur sasecondary

How could Shirou withstand Gilgamesh's superior strength and weapon quality in UBW? Shirou tries to trade blows with Gil when they meet in Fate route, and Shirou's entire body is reeling only from Gil playing around a little, even with the weapon's memory guiding Shirou's movements.

something something archers powers

Because Shirou's constantly on the offensive. Thanks to UBW's superior weapon draw speed, Shirou is consistently able to grab a sword and swing it at Gil's face faster than Gil can draw a sword from his vault. This means that Gil is forced to be on the defensive and has to block every time.

That's kind of interesting. Did Kiritsugu stick Solomon's 10th ring into Shirouko instead of Avalon and somehow that saved her and made her a super magi instead of a sword?

Prisma Illya is the SECOND most enjoyable entry, after Carnival Phantasm

>Shirou barely keeps up with Gil's sword spam without visible cues that his body's fucking up/shutting down from the attempt.
>He doesn't do his ten count aloud and pulls out Rho Aias without taking visible damage while chanting
>He yells the last of the incantation (This is actually incredibly important to Shirou's character and magecraft basics)
>He exchanges dialogue with Gilgamesh several times while exchanging sword-fire. At one point, he deliberately stops and expounds the weaknesses of UBW to Gil while crossing swords--in a moment where Gil, no matter his lack of combat prowress, should have been easily able to deal with Shirou in a variety of ways.
>Angra Mainyu doesn't immediately begin to swallow Gil when Saber breaks Shirou's RM (Excalibur was the reason the bubble didn't hold, so to speak), instead, an extended scene plays out that makes Shirou look like an incompetent for not finishing Gil off and infers both Angry Manjew and Archer are there to save his shortcoming.

Ego.

...

>an extended scene plays out that makes Shirou look like an incompetent for not finishing Gil off and infers both Angry Manjew and Archer are there to save his shortcoming.
That's exactly right, though

Tsukihime is the best Fate.

The Kenji Kawai music from the first adaptation is still the best.

Only Far Side

I...I'm gonna play FGO in English when it happens user-kun

atashi mo

how do I go about acquiring all the artwork for GO?
I don't care about the game itself, I just want art and names so I can google the context/backstory

It's essentially all on the wikis and pastebin. Go ask Fgog The Elder about it if you want particular bits.

You ever point at a cat and say "I wish I had a pink hammer"?

That's what Fate is. It doesn't make any sense.

Maybe you want to beat the cat with a pink hammer?

Or you want to give the cat the pink hammer, to advance to the next level.

I think this is the third time I've seen this post today.
